Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Secret Identity

I’m alive. Well, I didn’t want to be alive. So what the hell is going on? It’s fucking noisy… Eep!

There was a person staring blankly at him. Or rather it was someone’s face. It was currently bleeding from its eyes, nose, and mouth.

“H-help… me.” It smells!

It’s not like it’s the first time he saw a dead body. And just by looking at this… person, it’s caused by poisoning. The gender was unidentifiable as there was no body…

Blue flame burns where the neck had been cut diagonally, slowly eating away at the flesh. Judging from this scene, it was a world where there is mana.

“C…old…” It continued muttering. “Mother… ah… i-it’s cold…”

Quickly his eyes darted around the surroundings and there were armed knights fighting with red hooded people. These people ganged up on knights by two, moving like a thief in the night. Fast and followed by trickling blood whenever their blades go.

Shit, shit, shit. Shitty life upon shitty life!

He was at the edge of the forest while the fighting was gradually moved away from the tents by the knights. This was a refugee camp guarded by the knights. Fuck! Just lie down and wait for both of them to go away.

His little body was positioned halfway under a topled tent. Okay no, crawl in, crawl in, so fucking weak!

There was a big cauldron inside. Forcing all the strength, he went behind it and held the dagger he found by it.

When he dared peek at the entrance of the tent, the head was still muttering and bleeding. It’s now more horrifying with it smiling happily as it mumbled a conversation.

Whoever did that, I don’t want- Don’t set up flags! Almost made a mistake... Usually those mistakes are followed by horrid events. Speak less, more actions. We’ll just adjust spontaneously.

There was an explosion of blue flames and he quickly ran out the tent like a rat. His senses had always been good. The tent was set on fire and the head got rolled over by the blast. It was frozen in a toothy smile. The head’s body wasn’t far away. Like others it wore a red hood around its neck (that is also burning).

Knights had fought well and rounded the red hooded people in a burning pile. The knight’s leader was a brown haired male with a scruff look on his face, ordering the others as he gestures. He flew up with blue flames under his feet as he surveyed the aftermath.

He crouched behind a boulder and took in his surroundings.

Tall thick trees loom overhead like toothpicks. Blue reflected on them, contrasting the swollen red moon in the sky. Blades coming together with clangs were gone. The blast created a clearing as there were only tree stumps littering over the place.

Holy fuck… should I go out now? His eyes are now nearing the boulders he’s hiding from. Ah, to hell with it!

The man’s dark eyes glinted blue when it landed on him. There was a kid trembling holding the dagger a knight used to cut vegetables. It softened for a moment before moving past him.

“The prince and Her Majesty are fine!”

“There are five kids and nine adults! Treat the severely injured first! I’ll check on the children!” As he was near his hiding spot he swiftly landed on a boulder.

“Are you hurt somewhere, kid?”

Just as he asked this the kid touched the side of his head and showed him bloodied finger tips.

“Asna! Go here when you’re finished with that!”

“Just closing a wound, Sir!”

He picked up the kid as it stumbled out and carried him by a tent.

“Captain, get the kids here.” A calm voice sounded amongst panicked voices. “It’s enough blood for the night.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” He sounded surprised but still followed and looked at the kid frozen in his arms. “It must’ve been scary.”

Yes, I’m scared. I’m fucking scared of you! Go away already!

Gerard, the knight, bowed before leaving.

He swerved inside to a seat by the entrance. The prince stared at him unconcerned while Her Majesty was talking to a knight by her side.

Asna treated him quickly by casting spells after spells. She went right out but not forgetting a quick bow to the queen. Knights were stationed by the tent, holding their spears and swords.

All five of the kids soon got seated around the tent as another healer used healing magic to treat various injuries and cuts. He was quick and gentle with all of them.

The queen made rounds, casting some spells and the children’s faces seemed to immediately change into relaxed expressions.

Just as the queen sat with the prince, Gerard hauled a red haired girl into the tent. Asna quickly followed, announcing their arrival.

“The Count’s daughter!”

“Endel’s daughter?!” “Hannah!” Both the queen and the prince exclaimed. “Goodness…”

For fucks sake this looks like a prolougue of fantasy light novels.

“Oliver…?” Meek and shaky voice of the girl stirred the unconcerned emotions in the prince. What did you say?

I definitely just set up a flag.

“Mother, please!” The prince kneeled by the girl and looked at his mother.

Asna removed the cloth over Hannah’s neck, causing the royals and the few guards with Gerard to gasp. Around her pale neck was a violet thorn like scar.

“She was cursed, Your majesty.”

Isn’t this the prologue of Secret Identity? Holy fuck. So this is in the southern borders of Certio Kingdom. Hannah Cinders, daughter of the red sword, Count Endel Cinders. Isn’t this the part where he gains the red sword title? What happened then… Another attack a few hours after this and Cinders breaking to the fifth level of his technique in the midst of an ambush. Then his sword and hair turned red under a red moon.

The attack began with the activation of the curse in Hannah’s body and everyone with weak magical abilities fainted. This will anger Endel causing him to go berserk. Reinforcements arrive at the end and will witness the bloodbath around the royalty’s tent. Everything was red. But the most vibrant red amongst all was a red sword.

It was the end of the prologue. And the start of complicated matters within Certio Kingdom.

The queen is a powerful healer and magician. Asna helped the queen while another healer tended to the injured.

It was the queen who suggested every surviving civilian be brought inside the tent after hearing what Gerard and Asna had come across.

Everything went by a blur as clouds can be seen slowly crossing the ground outside the tent. Glowing orbs in the tent flickered just as Hannah Cinders’s neck glowed purple and screamed.

God damn.

Sharp pain assaulted his head. Last thing he witnessed was his vision turning sideways. Water seemed to fill his ears and the thud of his body.
