A Drink Before the Battle
"I just finished reading this story on another writer's platform, and I am pleased to find that it is here as well. It gives me a chance to give it the praise it deserves. It held my interest throughout. I binge on it over the weekend. Unlike most novels, the plot doesn't lose momentum at all; it flows perfectly. The characters are easy to like; they are quirky and a little angst-ridden. I love the camaraderie between the main characters. The story's setting is beautifully described, vivid but not flowery. The battle scenes are excellent, not overdone or overdramatic. I recommend this book to anyone who feels like a binge read. "

"I was charmed by this novel. The author had the correct blend of sex and story. The work was well-thought out and well put together. I had a real feel for both the main characters and their back and forth as they got to know each other. I did not feel overwhelmed by the world building. In fact, I thought it was well slipped into the love story so I was not feeling hit over the head by it. The love grew at the right pace. I never got the idea it was forced into the story just for the author. It grew like a whisper into a bright and vibrant call. I hope the author writes more in this world. Truly, I would suggest this as a read. I must now go and stare off out the window as I ponder this book. I have a reading hang-over, but this story was worth it. I will recover. No worries."
