Chapter no 1 :
Anna collins had only 3 rules in her life :
1. Let haters rot in hell .
2. Whoever try to stop her doing what she wants or what she loves have to pay the price
3. Never even try to make decisions with her emotions or heart .
These were the rules that made her successful only at the age of 19 . while people worked hard their whole life , and are still not successful because they lack self confidence . she owned a big bungalow , 2 cars only for herself plus a designing company .
" I told you before that I don't want to work with anyone " She clearly screamed at Adrien
Adrien was one of those boys who come from a wealthy background , they already have everything so they dont need to work so hard, His sister was a year younger than her and he wanted her sister to work with Anna because she was an year younger than her plus Anna was very successful at a very young age .
" Do you think I'll listen to you ? " Adrien responded
" Why don't you understand ! You have money you guys don't have to work so hard as compared to us , my parents , my siblings and me have worked hard our whole lives for this lifestyle and now you think that I would work for you ? For you ........ You're clearly a dumb person or you don't even want to understand "
" I'll go with the second option " He says to her smiling like a devil
" Ugh" she says angrily .
" I don't understand one thing , what it has to do with me ? You can work with us there should be no problem with this " he questioned
" I don't want to work with any company , and yours one " she chuckled " I will definitely not work with yours but the thing is I want to be successful on my own , I don't want my company to get ignored just because of some extra money " she answered
" We'll see about that " he says while rising from the chair from the office
" What do you mean we'll see about it , I never change my mind !" She said angrily
" You know that I get what I want " she started laughing with her eyes closed , when she opened her eyes ,she glanced at his direction and saw his expressions were serious. ,definitely he was not enjoying but she damn cared about it
" Well I have an appointment with your father in an hour , I should get going " he stated and started to walk away
" Wait ! " she yelled , he turned back and glanced at her direction " Why ? are you sick ? You don't look sick , you look perfectly alright" She asked
" I didnt knew , that you know how I look like or if I'm sick or not , you seemed to not care about me but I think I was wrong " he stared at her unblinking and smiling and Anna blushes , this was the most strangest thing they ever happened with her , she is not the kind of girl who blushes especially because of her nemesis
" I have zero interest in your life but you are going to my father thats why I asked you "
" No I'm not sick " he responded
" So then why are you going ? My father doesn't have free time"
" I need to talk to him about ...." He took a deep breath while looking at the window , his hazel eyes looking transparent in the light , Anna waited for him to complete the sentence but he was taking too much time , Anna was just about to ask him about what does he want to talk about to her father when he responded " YOU"
" What ? If you want my father to talk to me about working with you , he will definitely say no because this company is mine "
" Nope , I want to tell him about how his little girl , his most precious daughter is breaking into her enemies and haters house and threatening them , she even broke into my house , and threatened my sister and me "
She froze , her brain stopped working , her heart starts beating faster , her lungs started to expand more fastly , her heart was starting to pound , her body shivered , words stopped in her throat and refused to come out , she doesn't remember the last time she was in this state and in the same breath she remembered, when she was only 5 and got caught eating her sisters birthday cake before her sisters party even started after that she never ever felt so weak , pathetic and vulnerable , she managed to look up , she calmed herself , her expressions neutral she meet his gaze
" I don't know what you are talking about " it was all she could manage to say
He laughed a high pitched laughed , looking exactly like a devil , he glanced in her direction , an evil smirk on his face and he just stared at her , stared and stared which felt like centuries , His eyebrows fly up in surprise when Anna didn't respond him for a long time " I don't remember the last Time you looked so weak , so vulnerable oh yeah maybe at your sisters 7th birthday when you got caught eating her cake , you had chocolate all over your face " he shakes his head while laughing " I missed this face " pointing his finger at her face " This face was the one I always wanted to watch for 13 years" Anna was so angry at him that she wanted to smack something on his face and his pretty face will never be so perfect , she was always jealous of him , and he always enjoyed her jealousy , as much as she was angry at him she was equally surprised that he remembered that story and her face because that was the most embarrassing moment of her life and just because Adrien told her to eat that cake , she was just a baby and she was humiliated because of him , since then she hated him and her hate increased more and more over the years , she stopped inviting him to her house after that incident and he never came to her house too " I always thought that I would never be able to see this but , I was wrong , but you are weak , pathetic and ...."
"Enough ! I can't tolerate you anymore , you get out of my office , and never ever show me your Goddamn face again or I'll kill you with the same gun I pointed on you last weekend "
" At least you told me the truth " he said to her " But I have a deal , I'm not a vicious person you think I am , I'm not that bad , so the deal is you work with me , not with my sister 'Me' till the symposium of business and this secret will always remain between us "
" Yes you're right , you're not not bad you are awful , and I won't beg you for mercy , do whatever you want , it won't affect me "
" Are you always stubborn or only with me , here I'm trying to save your life and your doing this ,this ? "
" Pardon me ? I didn't asked for your favor "
" For whom do you work for ? The resistance or the rupublics ? "
" Keep your nose out of it , or you'll pay the price "
" I highly doubt that "
" Go to hell " Anna cursed him
He smirked at her " I know I'll be going there but there are high chances they you'll go their before me " he winked at her and walked out of her office
Anna broke the lamp on her table , and she curses Adrien in every language she knows , she collapsed on the floor , after an hour she collected herself and Managed to call Erika , her sister , she knows her secret
" You want to play hide and seek Adrien Herondale and you think you're the master but you'll know your worth soon " she whispered to herself .
Erika collins arrived at Anna's office at 5 pm sharp. ,Erika is the kind of beauty nobody believes in these days , Big Amber ayes which she inherited from her mother , cute smile , Perfect body , Great confidence and has good manners , her voice so smooth and sweet as honey , she was a ballerina but because of an injury she had to quit her dream job , after that she decided to do modeling for her sister. While both of her siblings Anna Collins and Tristan Collins were cold natured she was different from both of them plus her shiny black hairs also distinguished her from her siblings as their hairs were light brown and their eyes were Green . She elegantly walked to her office knocked on her door but when nobody replied she opened the door and barged into the room , the moment She stepped into the room Anna rushed towards her , her expressions were both angry and petrified
" What happened ? Why the office is a mess ? She put a hand on her shoulders and shakes her " What happened to you ? Are you okay ?" Erika was petrified because of Anna's hopelessness , her sister never bowed to someone and never called her in this state while her hair is a mess and her green eyes shining because of the tears
" Where is my gun? , Where did you put it?"
" Anna , my sister what happened ?"
" He knows , he knows about the secret and he is threatening me " her eyes look so sad , Erika couldn't manage to look at her eyes , tears started to come from her eyes
" Who ? Tell me and we'll make his life hell he'll beg for mercy. ,just tell me Anna tell me "
" Thats of no use "
" Why ? "
" Because Its Adrien Herondale "
Anna was not only worried about her father but also about her own reputation , because she worked hard her whole life for this life and once everyone will know , everything will be gone
" Did he said anything else ?" Erika asked
" Yes , he want to make a deal " Anna responded
" What kind of deal ?"
" He wants me to work with him till the business Symposium "
" Anna this is your the opportunity to start everything all over again , accept his offer and he won't tell everyone "
" Do you think I am stupid enough to believe him ? , he made fun of me 13 years ago ofcourse he will use me then he will throw me like a used tin can , he will live his life peacefully and my life ... My life will be over "
" Look , I don't exactly know him OK but as far as I've listened from other people Herondale's keep their promises till their death , so get over it " Erika advised
" He'll think I have no dignity , no pride and no self respect , and I came to him just because he know a secret about me " She released a breath " I won't beg him "
" You're not going to beg him , You guys will be equal , you will be helping him and he will be helping you , easy , Your ego will not be hurt OK , you will be his partner not his servant "
" I don't know "
" You'll call him tonight and you'll tell him that you want to meet him tomorrow , get yourself together we are going back home "
And after saying that she left Anna in her office , and walked out
Adrien was heading towards home when her sister called him , her sister is sweet but stubborn , and kind of a difficult person to love she is almost 2 years younger than her , and is the darling of the family , Adrien called her back after sitting in the car
" Hello?" Cassie's delightful voice came from the other side of the phone which caused him to smile , he was not that kind of person who would smile easily but his sister , his mother , father , William and Anna are the only people who could make him smile , the thought of Anna make his heart to race faster
" Hi , Case ? You called me ...is everything OK ?" He asked his precious sister
" Yes everything is absolutely fine , Mom and Dad wanted you to come home early "
" Why ?" He asked
" Umm , you know ..."
" You know what ? "
" It is supposed to be a surprise , just come home "
" Hello , Cassie tell me " she didnt listen and cut the call
Adrien was pretty surprised about Cassie , because she usually don't talk like this , she talk like this only when is excited that meabs the surprise means a lot to him and his family, After sitting in the car in the silence he decided to Call William , his cousin and best friend , he is important to him as his own family but Will didnt attend the call either .
