I came because my job is to walk with the people who pass on I’m the only reaper left what most people think is that we are immortal but boy are they wrong so so very wrong even tho being the last reaper I am also the youngest to be in service I am 27 you’d think reapers reap forever and we’re never young no we start off the same as normal people we have feelings love hope we are born to a normal human family but with the mark of the reap it’s a silhouette of a scythe (our scythes aren’t for killing the people we go to reap tho they are to protect the people we bring on the path to the other side) once the babies are seen to have the reap mark they are sent to the home of all reaps young and old and trained to forget all natural feelings and to be no feeling inside you. The reap house was attacked by a powerful man he had powers strong powers enough to take out a whole generation of reapers only one survivor the one strong enough to defeat the man the one who still had feeling witch so happened that one was me emphasizing the me being the last reaper alive. I do have a wife (Kira is her name) tho she does have a reaper mark but the only thing she has is strong blood hard to kill she’s not a reaper she can’t float she’s basically a normal human, she is pregnant with my soon to be born first born son tho hopefully I can train him to be a reaper one day ( if born a full blooded reaper female and male reaper you are 100% reaper you will have reaping powers but no reaper has ever been born of such a thing no reaper has ever made a full born reaper child it was forbidden but now there’s no rules so why not) my wife is the only female reaper to have been born so basically we are both people who are rare I’m the strongest of the reaper kind she’s the only female reaper and we are making the first full blooded reaper. Having the feeling of someone coming upon their death bed I following the feeling but when I get there their is no human i am confused as ever so I walk around and I see my wife I tell her what’s going on she said that’s weird and that she couldn’t pick up the watermelon she had dropped in the parking lot of our local Wall Street it’s our local grocery store so I bent down and picked it up an starting walking to our car (yes we use and have a car) when she goes to grab her keys out of her purse she stops and breathes deeply I ask her what’s wrong and she says it’s just that the baby has been being rude all day and that she’s been having more than normal leakage today (when we woke this morning she had peed in her sleep witch is abnormal for her) I asked her if she was in labor she said she could be (we have a high tolerance for pain so it’s harder for us to tell when being hurt) I got her keys from her purse and unlocked the car (thankfully she had parked far away from any other parking spots so no one was around) I opened the trunk ( we had one of the big like three row fancy cars that are big and spacious so it’s not like one of those car trunks where they go in ) I lifted her gently and put her up there in the back and lied her back propping her head on a bag that was in the back so she was still slightly elevated and I took off her pants and then her underwear to check the area and I was like you are definitely in labor babe i think we need to get to the hospital and when she tried to sit up it was not happening I told her to just lay back I’ll close the trunk and drive and she said no I think the baby is coming now what do you mean I don’t know how to bring life into this world that’s not my job babe Its literally the opposite Kira’s POV: I know babe but AHHH it hurts and that’s saying something baby please Grim uhhh umm ok baby breathe in* out* repeat AHHHHH! Silence Grim’s POV: everything went quiet and I was now holding my son he was crying and he had the mark but extra then I looked up to Kira she was relaxed looked like she was about to pass out so I handed her the baby and went to the front to get a pair of scissors and when I came back he was lying on her chest she was now just in her bra and she was out cold, arms wrapped around him so I took a hair tie wrapped it around the cord and then another to the other side and cut it in the middle picked him up and wrapped a random blanket around him I decided to check on Kira see if she was still asleep and that overwhelming feeling all reapers get when they have a assignment hit me like a truck hitting a deer I climbed on the back to check her out she was still bleeding bad so there was a lot of blood back here she was still “asleep” at least that’s what I thought I put my hand on her forehead and she was ice cold reapers are always cold but not ice cold so I put my finger to her neck nothing then I lifted her wrist nothing she was dead Kira No baby wake up please i started compressions nothing she wasn’t coming back how could this happen I knew we should have drove to the hospital then it hit me she was dead no matter what my assignment that I couldn’t find was her I was supposed to walk her to her after life that’s when I saw her ghostly figure standing outside the car looking at me sacredness on her face I jumped out of the car Kira baby it’s ok I’ll show you the way she nodded and looked down then i heard him cry I ran over to him in the middle row laying there wanting to be seen I picked him up and brought him over we stood over him one dead one alive now I know why it was forbidden and why there were presumably no female reapers it was impossible for a reaper to be born without a death of the mother during birth bringing a life into this world always comes with a burdening price I turned and looped one arm through Kira’s and started walking her journey to the after life my true love was gone at the price of a new love can reapers only love one living thing? Is that why? Or was it just to much power for the world? Will this child turn out so powerful that even the highest of beings fear him will I eventually fear him
