Chapter 1

It's been a couple weeks since the end of the Second Giant War, and everything has been going great. I was in the middle of eating breakfast, when I felt a searing pain on my right arm, as if it was slowly being cut by a blade. I've been feeling random flares of pain since Tarturas, so I didnt think anything of it. Then my left arm started to hurt which was unusual, because the flares if pain never happened in two places at once. Then it just stopped as if it never happened.

It has been two days since the outburst of pain, and since then it has started to happen in random places of my body since, mostly in my head. It started getting so bad that everytime it happened it felt like my bones were being shattered. Annabeth, Jason, and Piper started to ask what was wrong, but I felt as if I shouldn't tell them lest something bad happen.

The hunters got here on Thursday. Even Lady Artemis was with them, which I found wierd, because normally she isnt with them. Which means they were here for a very important reason.

Thalia ran up to me and said, "How's it been going Kelp Head?"

"Oh you know, the usual just boring stuff really," I said, "You?"

"We killed all the fun monsters during the war so it's been pretty uneventful," she said.

I nodded thinking that it's a good thing that all the dangerous monsters are dead. That's when I cought Lady Artemis looking at me. I sent a questioning gaze to her, and she turned away. I didnt think too much on it, because immortals tend to stare at almost everything. Then the dinner horn was called.

"Race you," Thalia said running past me too the dining pavilion.

I almost caught up to her when she reached the dining pavilion. I gave her a high five and walked over to my table. Once I got my food, I walked up to the fire and sacrificed to Poseidon. I looked over at Annabeth and saw that she was smiling at a son of Apollo. I was going to propose too her tonight, I asked her to meet me on the beach a couple of days ago. I was ecstatic, but there is one thing that is bothering me. She has been odly distant these last few weeks. Every time I would ask to spend time with her, she would claim she was busy. I also saw her hanging around that son of Apollo a lot. After dinner, I headed to the sing along with everyone else. But Annabeth and the son of Apollo werent there. I just counted it as a coincidence.

After the sing along I headed down to the beach, thinking that Annabeth was already their. When I got to the beach I saw why Annabeth has been so distant. She and the son of Apollo making out with each other. At first I was heart broken then rage hotter than any flame Hephaestus could conjure up ignited on my being.

"What in Hera's name is going on here," I screamed.

Annabeth quickly got off of the son of apollo and said in a quavering voice, "P-P-P-Percy this isnt what it looks like."

That made me even madder as I screamed, "Really because it looks like you and this sorry excuse of a demigod were making out at our favorite spot on beach!"

"Listen bro," the son of Apollo who I now recognized as Alex tried to explain

"No I am done listening," I screamed at them, "I did nothing to either of you, Hades I sacrificed so much for you Annabeth! I fell into Tarturas for you!"

By now everyone was coming towards the beach. There was also a hurricane forming around me but I didnt care.

I took the ring that I was going to propose to her with and said in a deadly calm voice, "I was going to propose to you tonight Annabeth, but I see that even though I was faithful too you, you couldnt stay a relationship with me. You were a coward and couldn't just break it off with me. We're done."

With those final words, I threw the ring up in the air, took out Riptide, uncapped it, and cut the ring in half. I started to walk away from the beach, away from everyone. But as soon as I stepped off of the sand, it felt like all of my bones were being shattered then reformed over and over and over again.

I fell to the ground, screaming in pain. Anyone that would try to get close enough too help me, would get blown back, or scratched by myself so bad that they had to be rushed to the infirmary. I saw all of this in a hazy pain. I faintly saw someone run up too me. The wierd thing is, is that they didn't get blasted back or scratched. Then they put their hands on my chest, and the pain faided do a dull throbbing.

That's when I looked at my hands only to see paws and claws in replace of my hands. I screamed in panic and backed away from the person, who I realized was a girl. As soon as I did that though, the pain came back as if I was being stomped to the ground by the Minotaur. I felt my arms and legs start to grow a lot of hair. I heard my clothes RIP. I turned onto my stomach, and saw that my arms and legs were changing into what looked like wolf paws. I felt the same hands on my back that I felt on my chest. Once again the pain went away, then I felt the last human part of me, which is my head change form to a snout. After that I collapsed onto the ground.

When I looked around, everyone had shocked looks on their faces. But when I looked at who had their hands on my side, I realized it was Lady Artemis.

I tried to get up and back away, but she must have seen the fear in my eyes, because she said in a soft voice, "It's okay, you're safe I wont hurt you."

The gentleness in her voice made lay back down. Where her hands were touching my fur, there were sparks coming from the spot. It felt so good, that I moved closer to feel more of those sparks. I moved so close that I could smell her scent. It smelled like pine and cinnamon. Not normally a nice combination, but on her it smelled as if I was in Elysium. Before I knew it, my eyelids were starting to close. But before my eyes closed all they way, I could have sworn that she smiled. Then all I saw was blackness.
