Coffee date part 1 (Rohini meets Nayak)
Tea commonly chai in India is a tradition, an art of expression, and even end of one's long frustrating work day.
Tea is something you can't not like right? Well, it wasn't so for young Rohin. She had it in her to not like chai. It pulls the strings of one's heart when someone doesn't like chai. It wasn't her fault though, she was young then and now she umm enjoys chai and values every sip of this amazing beverage. Loving something doesn't come easy, there's always a story behind every Cup. So did Rohini.
" Rohini beta, wake up your gonna be late for work"......"Rohini!"
"Huh, mummy?"
"You are not in college anymore, sleeping late till noon won't bring you Rice"
" What's the time mummy, is it 8 already?
"No, but it's late" "Wash up and come down and help me unpack"
Rohini reached for her phone. As soon as mummy left the room. 6.25 wasn't late but she had to get ready on time so that she could leave early enough to catch the first bus.
" Rohini how long are you going to take? Missing the first bus is not a good sign"
"Coming mummy"
Lalita isn't always so superstitious but she was excited and scared too as her daughter reminded her the younger Lalita. Energetic and wild, Ready to take on the world.
"Bye, mummy"
"God bless you beta." "Be safe, don't go anywhere wandering on your own and especially don't eat anything suspicious"
Lalita felt what her mother felt for the first time as her eyes filled with tears which she couldn't hold and dripped over her golden cheeks. Her eyes mildly swollen since she couldn't sleep the previous night........ closed her eyes slowly as she lied on the bed with a sense of relief.
Meanwhile Rohini was able to get on the bus, but she was nervous and felt like her soul was leaving the body, every time the bus bumped on the road. She felt rested once the bus stopped.
She quickly got down the bus and headed towards a taxi.
" Where to ma'am?"
She was getting olivious as she stated the address and felt the time drifting away as the taxi moved towards the office.
She greeted the taxi driver before she left the car.
Olivious Rohini didn't notice anything but the entrance as her eyes stayed fixated over it.
She moved gracefully and......Bumped.
"Sorry, sir I didn't see you there. I am really sorry."
"It's okay, first day right?"
And that's How she met Nayak. The Chai of her life.
