FOREVER YOU

14th April, 1998
Chandler, Arizona

Evening breeze was striking the leaves of trees like it's giving the warning of upcoming stormy night. Sky was glowing with saffron and reddish orange colors. There was a bit comfortable yet somewhat scary silence.

But there was a sound of giggling of kids which tore apart that cover of silence.

Two little kids , a girl and a boy , both were 8 years old ,living in their own fantasy world, unaware that their real world was about to be shattered.

"Chris ! I hate you !" Arianna said to her best friend Christian while pouting cutely.

Chris laughed. "Ari ! What can I do ? I am sure you will get a husband with long hairs and claws. "

Arianna scoffed. " and you will marry an ugly witch with dagger like teeth and you will have to lick her face like other adults do."

His sparkling green eyes first widen in shock and then his cute little face wrinkled in disgust.

"No way ! I am not gonna marry an ugly witch".

Now it was Arianna's turn. So she started laughing. Her bright blue eyes got shut with the impact of her loud but sweet laugh.

Very soon Christian too caught up with her and starts laughing.

Their giggles were so melodious that even angels can't prevent their corners of lips to twitch upwards.

Evening was always favorite time for Arianna as she can only play with her chris at this time. Her evil and cold hearted uncle's family , who was only bearing her due to fear of legal actions, never let her take a breath of relief.

Her little and tender life only revolves around her chris - her first and only best friend. He was the one she really loves to spend time with. They were together , only god knows , since when.

Feeling wasn't one sided though. Chris also loves to play with his best friend. Afterall he left all his other friends just to play with her.

Unlike Arianna , Chris got a very caring parents and a very loving elder sister who was 13 years old. They all love him with all their hearts. His father was a police man and want him to do the same in future. But his innocent and unexperienced mind is not very keen to go into police.

"Hey ! I have an idea ! through which you don't have to marry a witch and I will not marry a monster." Arianna said with so much sudden enthusiasm.

"And what's that ?" Chris asked.

"We will marry each other. Simple ! "

Chris's face lit up just by mere thinking that he can play with her favorite Ari all his life.

"That's amazing. " he said. But then suddenly his tender mind wandered quickly to somewhere and then his face fell.

Arianna noticed that and asked " what's wrong ?"

"What if you forget your promise to marry me ? It's still a lot of wait , right ? "

Arianna pondered over his newly found problem for quite good five minutes. Suddenly her face lit up like a bulb glow in her little pretty head. Then she ran away to get her little bag that she always carry with her no matter what. It was in chris's living room.

Chris was confused but decided to keep his mouth shut.

After good ten minutes , she returned with her bag and started finding something in it. Then finally she took out a valvet box and give that to chris.

"What's this ? " he asked.

"Just open and see yourself."

He opened the box and see that there were two identical golden lockets. One had soul written over it while other had mate engraved.

"They says that my parents bought these for me and my twin sister but they are not here and these are some of last remains of them." She said a little bit sadly. She doesn't miss her family very much as she was only three months old when she lost them.

"But why you are giving this to me ?" He asked while putting one hand on her shoulder to show that he's with her.

"You are an idiot ! Uff " she snatched the box and took one chain with soul sign and wear it. Then she took another one and put that around chris's neck.

"Now I am the soul and you are the mate. So whenever we forget our promise , these chains will remind us"
She said.

"Then we will be together forever." He concluded.

And they started jumping happily without a slightest hint that they had made a divine connection between their souls , and that's just by their childish and cute promise.

Their giggles came to an sudden halt when they heared a gun shot rang in the house.

They were in backyard and behind the pile of old broken furniture. No one knew that they were there.

"What was that ?" Arianna asked while trembling in fear.

"I don't know." He said with tears brimming in eyes.

Suddenly they heared one more shot and then a loud shriek which was , unfortunately, very familiar to chris.

"My sis !" He said While crying. Arianna didn't know what to say or do. She was frozen at the spot.

"I have to go inside." He said.

"No ! Are you crazy ? It's dangerous inside. " Arianna looked at him with with uttermost worry.

"They are my family. I am going inside. My paa, my mum , my sis." He started crying again.

And then he ran inside and she was still there. Not moving but crying.

Then she decided to run away from backdoor. "But how could she ?" She thought to herself. Her best friend was inside. Her first and only best friend. Who doesn't hate her , even love her and want her.

So then she started running towards the house. But her steps suddenly stopped when she heard a scream.

His scream.

Tears started running down her cheeks. She lost her best friend. It was more painful for her then losing her family. He was the only light in her dull life.

But she didn't get time to mourn. She heared footsteps approaching the backyard.

She quickly hide behind a old sofa again.

"Idiot clark ! He thought he can fight us. I mean really ? Us ? The killers ? " a mocking laugh can be heared.

"Yeah ! He was more stupid than I actually thought." Another evil voice said.

She was scared but still managed to keep her sobs in her mouth.

"I don't think there's anything else to do. We should leave now." first voice said. Other one just hummed and they left.

She cried and cried. Until her stock of tears got over.

She didn't move but lay there behind the sofa with the soul chain still around her neck.

Her little soul felt broken. His departure left a void in her innocent heart.

A void which can't be filled.

His last words were ringing in her head while darkness engulfed her.

"forever."
