Chapter 1
Burning pain. That’s all I felt it was hard to keep running. If I stop, I’m going to die. I’ve come so far that I won’t give up now.
-Snap-
What was that? A snapping sound of a tree came from behind me. I ran faster trying to escape whatever was behind me. A low growl seemed to be coming from every direction. The farther I ran the louder the growl seemed to be getting. I darted left hoping the animal was just in front of me but I was wrong.
-Thud-
My body was tackled, to the ground with a sharp pain shooting up my side. I let a loud sharp scream out as I felt the pain flow through me. I looked down to see the animal’s claws were bared into me. Its claws slowly retracted from my flesh making me scream in the fair as the blood gushed out more.
The animal wasn’t an ordinary beast, it was a wolf. The wolf was beautiful minus it being covered in blood. The wolf stood taller than 5 feet. It was covered in raven black fur and green eyes that seemed to burn holes into my skull—never breaking eye contact with me. The growling seemed to continue but was now in front of me instead of surrounding me.
I went to back away from the wolf only to be met with a sharp bark in my direction. “Fine! Can you at least shift so we can have a damn civil conversation?!” I was met with no response. The wolf simply cocked its head to the side watching me with confusion.
I got up from the ground shaking. Blood was still pulling from my side. I turned and ran with everything I had left in me. A more thunderous growl I had never heard before came from my left. I went to look in the direction it had come from but before I could, another body slammed into me.
-Thump-
I slammed into the tree near me hitting my head hard. My vision was getting fuzzy and black spots clouded my vision. I looked around me and saw a pair of golden eyes watching me. Analyzing me. My heart rate increased dramatically. Then everything went dark.
A/N: Short chapter for a little bit of a cliffhanger.
