10:56 pm
Buzz buzz
“Hey sweetheart listen I have to stop for gas I’ll be home a little later okay?” Says Dave.
“Alright I was getting worried when you’d be home”. Replies Sarah.
“Ya i know that’s why I called I’ll be home soon okay?” Asks Dave.
“Ya I’ll be in bed good night dad love you”. Says Sarah
“Love you to bye”. Replies Dave. Beep
Sarah gets off the chair and turns off the light. She walks into the bathroom, turns the light on and brushes her teeth. She walks to her room and lays in bed.
11:30 pm
“Hey I’m home”. Yells Dave. Dave takes his shoes off and goes to Sarah’s door and opens it.
“Sarah are you… aaaaah”. Dave yells as he slams the door shut. Dave runs to the living room and calls 911.
“911 what is your emergency?” Asks the dispatcher.
“There’s been a murder at 3578 Lincoln drive”. Yells Dave.
“Okay im sending 2 officers to your house okay try to stay calm”. Says the dispatcher.
“I am”. Says Dave. Red and blue lights fill the driveway as 4 armed officers walk to the front door.
“This is the police open the door,” yells one of the officers. Dave walks to the door, tears filling his eyes. Dave opens the door.
“Hey officers she’s in her room” says Dave.
“Okay and which one is that?” Asks the officer as he stepped through the doorway.
“The one on the far left” says Dave in an upset voice.
“Before I go check, do you have anything you’d like to tell me?” Says the officer.
“Why what do you mean?” Asks Dave.
“You look upset and scared. You look like something frightened you” says the officer.
“You should just look,” Dave replies. The officer slowly walks into Sarah’s room.
“Holy shit. This is how you found her?” Asks the officer.
“Yes, have you seen this before?” Asks Dave.
“No” replies the officer.
9:30 am Lincoln street
“Hey mom,” says Steve.
“Hey breakfast is almost ready” says renny
“Hey, is it okay if I hang out at Jake's house today?” asks Steve, walking into the kitchen.
“As long as you guys are careful there was a murder in our nieghborhood last night” replies” renny as she puts steaming hot eggs on a small white plate on the counter.
“Don't worry we will” replies Steve as he grabs a water bottle out of the fridge.
“Do you want ketchup?” asks renny as she grabs the ketchup from the top shelf of the fridge
“Ya sure” replies steve.
9:30am brail street
“Hey mom, is it okay if my friends come over today and hang out downstairs in my room?” yells Jake from his room.
“Ya sure” yells carry.
Bzz bzz.
“Dude, it's 9:30 on the first day of summer. What do you want?” asks luke.
“Dude, come over we have news” says jake.
“Shit i'll be there in 30 minutes,” says Luke as he jumps out of bed.
9:15am green street
“Where are you going?” asks sharry.
“Oh hey mom i'm going to my friends house is that okay?” asks Luke as he runs down the stairs.
“Yes as long as you take your brother Tyler with you” replies sharry.
“Okay” Luke says as he puts his shoes on. Tyler gets his shoes on and follows his brother Luke out the door.
“So where are we going?” asks tyler.
“Jake's house” replies Luke as he gets into his truck.
10:00am brail street
Ding dong.
“Jake your friends are here” yells carry.
“Perfect” Jake yells as he runs up the stairs. Jake runs to the door and opens it.
“Hey guys come in, I have some news about last night” Jake says as he runs back down the stairs into his room as everyone else follows behind him.
“So what did happen last night? I heard sirens but didn't see anything” says luke.
“I heard someone was murdered” says steve.
“What? Who told you that?” asks luke.
“My mom did,” replies steve.
“I mean you were the closest to it, did you see anything or hear anything?” asks jake.
“No, not much, all I heard was screaming and then a bunch of cops showed up. Maybe we should go over there and check it out” says steve.
“That's dangerous, I like it, let's go” Jake says with a smile. Jake, Luke, Steve, and Tyler run up the stairs and out the door. They each grab their bikes and get on.
“Follow me guys” yells steve. As he takes off on his bike. Everyone else hops on their bikes and takes off behind Steve following closely.
“What time does everyone need to be home at?” asks jake.
“I can stay for however long I want,” says luke.
“Ya we know” replies steve.
“One of the benefits to being older” replies luke.
“I have to be back by 7:00” says tyler.
“Me too,” says steve.
“Okay, so we can stay out until 6 ill set my timer” replies jake.
“Okay this is the house” Steve says as he stops his bike in front of a house with caution tape in its driveway.
“Wow what happened here?” asks Tyler as Steve looks at him with confusion.
“Oh ya” replies Tyler as Steve rolls his eyes.
“I don't think anyone is even home?” says luke.
“Lets find out” says Jake as he ducks under the caution tape.
“Dude what the hell are you doing” yells steve.
“What? Aren't you guys coming?” asks jake.
“Fine but if the cops ask it was your idea” replies Luke as he ducks under the police tape.
“Why my idea, you're the one choosing to follow me?” replies Jake with a confused look.
“Just shut up and keep going,” Luke says, rolling his eyes.
“Hey, I see someone. I think it's the dad” says steve.
“I see him too. Luke, you brought the voice recorder right?” asks luke.
“Ya I did. you think we should talk to him?” asks steve.
Ding dong.
“Dude what the hell are you doing” yells luke.
“What I want to question him. get the voice recorder out and start recording” replies jake.
“Fine,” Luke says, pulling out the voice recorder. Dave opens the door.
“Who are you guys?” asks dave.
“Hello sir we are reporters for the neighborhood we think we can help with the murder that happened here can we come in and talk to you for a bit?” asks jake.
“Ya sure come in '' replies Dave as he opens the door further. Luke and the others walk inside the house and Dave shuts the door behind them. Jake, Luke and Tyler sit on the couch while Steve looks around.
“So what did happen last night?” asks jake.
“Well I talked to her on the phone and she seemed fine. She said she was going to bed but when I got home I decided to check on her so I went into her room and she was laying on her bed with her legs straight but her but was broken and curved backwards 90 degrees. Half of her back snapped back 90 degrees. It was horrible, '' replies dave.
“That sounds nasty. Was there anything off in her mood or anything?” asks jake.
“Yes she was complaining about a nightmare she has been having” replies dave.
“What was the nightmare?” asks jake.
“Hey Dave, is it okay if I look around in her room for a bit?” asks steve.
“Yes. also she said there was this monster with 3 long nails on its hands and grey wrinkly skin she also said it was like 10 feet tall and it had a glowing orb in the center of its body and she felt like it was watching her” replies dave.
“How long has she had this nightmare?” asks luke.
“That night would have been the third night” replies luke.
“Guys come look at this” yells steve.
Bzz bzz
“Sorry guys i have to take this” says dave. Luke and Tyler get off the couch and run into Sarah's room.
“What's wrong?” asks luke.
“Do you guys see this too?” asks steve.
“Ya the blood stains” replies luke. Dave walks into the room.
“The police said when they snapped her back straight she had 3 long stretch marks running all the way up her back” says dave.
“Did she say anything else about the monster?” asks steve.
“She said his name was Tricepta,” replies dave.
“Tyler run to the library and find every book about tricepta '' says Steve. Tyler runs out the door and to his bike on the sidewalk he picks up the bike and hops on.
“I'll meet you guys back at jake's place” yells tyler as he pedals down the street.
“Alright let us know if anything happens okay '' Steve says as he walks back into the living room.
“Yes I will. Wait how?” asks dave.
“here's my number. Jake let's go back to your place” steve says as he hands dave a paper with his number on it. Jake packs up his stuff and gets off the couch.
“We’ll let you know what we find tomorrow” Steve says as Luke and Jake walk to their bikes.
“Okay” Dave says as he closes the door. Jake, Luke and Steve all get back on their bikes and start pedaling.
“It's already 11:15. We need to get back to your house and research this tricepta person,” says steve.
“Ya Tyler is probably there by now” replies luke.
“Hey, remember 2 years ago when we had the case of the missing cat?” says luke.
“Yes it was terrible the damn thing was hiding in the tree” says steve.
“That's the first mystery we ever solved as a group” replies jake.
“Ya but the older we are getting the worse the cases have been getting it went from the cat to a missing person to another person to this person” says steve.
“Guys we are here” Jake says as he gets off his bike. Jake runs into the house and runs down the stairs as Luke and Steve follow behind him.
“Tyler did you find anything?” asks jake.
“Yes it says it appears in people's dreams and it looks exactly how she described it. It appears in your dreams 3 times and on the third time it catches you and scratches your back 3 times and takes your soul” says tyler.
“That sounds exactly like what she said happened” replies jake.
“Oh shit!” yells jake.
“HEY WATCH YOUR MOUTH JAKE RANDEL THOMAS OR I WILL SEND YOUR FRIENDS HOME!!!” yells carry.
“SORRY MOM!!!” Jake yells back.
“What is it?” asks tyler.
“It says it choses a person and from that person it goes to their family. We have to warn dave” says steve.
“HEY MOM CAN MY FRIENDS SLEEP OVER TONIGHT” yells jake.
“SURE HONEY” carry yells back.
“Can you guys stay over?” asks jake.
“Ya i just have to let my mom know” replies luke.
“Good, we are spending the night at daves place,” says jake. As he runs back up stairs.
“How many times are we gonna run up and down these stairs?” steve says. As he walks back up the stairs and out the door. Luke and tyler follow jake out the door. Everyone grabs their bikes and starts pedaling back to Dave's house.
“It's lunch time and I'm getting a little hungry,” says tyler.
“I'm sure he has some food,” replies luke.
“So we have to keep an eye on him while he is sleeping,” says steve.
“What. Do you realize how creepy that is?” replies jake.
“We’re here” says steve. As he hops off his bike and drops it in the grass. Luke Tyler and Jake hop off their bikes and drop them in the same spot and run inside.
“What are you guys doing here?” asks Dave with a concerned look as he hops off the couch.
“We read that it attacks a family at a time so you would be next” says jake.
'`Have you had any bad dreams lately?” asks steve.
“Last night i dreamt i was in a mall shopping and suddenly everyone started running away and i heard a voice saying 2 then i woke up with a sore back” replies dave.
“Can you take off your shirt and turn around?” asks luke.
“Sure” replies Dave as he turns around and takes off his shirt.
“Yup you have two long scratch marks on your back. Is there something you're not telling us?” asks steve.
“Fine, I saw him. When I turned around to see what everyone was running from he appeared right in front of me and grabbed me and ran one of his nails down my back and whispered two then I woke up” replies dave.
“Well tonight we will keep an eye on you okay? Also you've been having this nightmare for 2 days” says steve.
“Yes I have and when I was in my first one I fell asleep holding the tv remote and it appeared in my dream” says dave.
“We should figure out what kills it and when you fall asleep again you can kill it” says steve.
“How should we do that?” asks dave.
“Did you bring the book jake?” asks steve.
“Ya” replies jake.
“Find what that glowing orb is that's in the middle of his chest” says steve.
“Alright” replies Jake as he pulls out the book.
“Is it okay if I eat the pringles?” asks tyler.
“Ya that's fine” replies dave.
“It says if you destroy it it will die” says jake.
“So I guess now we know what we are doing,” says steve.
“Lets tape a knife to his hand before he falls asleep” says luke.
