Chapter 1
It’s such a shame to see society today,
Convincing young-ones and teens to obey,
the rules and regulations that it creates.
The will make you hide and lose unique traits.
You must be beautiful, but not too much so.
You have to do this, or you will not grow.
You have to be smart, but also funny.
You can’t be cool unless you have money.
You can’t have opinions nor think for yourself.
You can’t like certain music, or even oneself.
You can’t be too sad and you can’t be too happy.
You have to be sensitive, but not really sappy.
You can’t be creative because it’s making me irate.
And don’t even try to be anything other than straight.
It’s a shame, I know it, it’s the terrible truth.
That society’s behaviour is rather uncouth.
Beauty is not found on the outer shell of our human being,
It’s found in our hearts and in our wellbeing.
Break away from the lies that come from their mouths and try to see the beauty you have within.
