MY NAME IS LILY
So, my name is Lily and I am 16 years old this is my story. Well, I don’t know where to start. My best friend Camilla told me that it would help me to overcome everything that has happened to me. I know there are way better and riskier stories than mine but for a 16-year-old like me, things can be pretty estranged.
Well, my life was all normal and fine with me until my 14th birthday.
So, a little flashback. I was born on the 4th of September 2006 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. At 7, my family moved to Boston after my father passed away. Now, I live with my mom and my 12-year-old sister. My mom has been often dating but I still do feel that she misses dad. I still remember the day. The mist was taking over the extreme winters in January. New year’s party was great! The next day to New Year, the chair rocked where my dad often drank his tea and read the newspaper. Suddenly, the cup of tea fell to the ground. I was playing with Kylie, my 2-year-old sister when we hear the noise. When we came we saw our mom calling 9-1-1 and shouting. He suffered a heart attack and died on his way to the hospital.
Neither mom nor we could take it anymore in that house with the sweet old melody haunting us and we moved to Boston.
Since then, I have lived my life happily until this happened. I made a best friend called Camilla, she was also like me, new to the city and we soon got along together. It was my 14th birthday and the next day was high school. Camille and I were excited. All of my middle school friends were here at my party when it happened. A boy entered from the door. I hadn’t noticed him much before.
A light flickered over him when I saw him. “Ooooh,” I gasped. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. His hair curled slightly to his shoulders which he shook with hotness. He moved towards my living room where the party was being held with his popular group of friends.
“Hey, Lil, Lil? Are you here?” Camille waved her hand over my eyes suddenly I became aware and I nodded my head as I went inside.
When I entered that boy was coming towards me. My nerves became still and my heartbeat rose. He came and his hair waved.
“Happy Birthday Lily,” he spoke and his voice was so sexy and manky.
“Of c...Thank You... Thank You?” I spoke and felt immediately embarrassed.
“Eddie. Eddie Adler,” he spoke and walked away as I watched with my mouth open as Camille covered my hand.
“Lily? Are you alright?” Camille asked.
“Yes. Of course, I am alright. Check for yourself,” I snapped right back.
The entire night my eyes were on him. Wait, I remembered what cousin Edith told me, never fall in love! Love is toxic and a drug those words echoed around me.
Lily, remember Edith, Love is toxic, it only gives you pain and heartbreak. But what should I do? You can’t always help it. It is almost impossible to help him just stare.
After the party’s over and everyone’s gone except Camille.
“Looks like someone’s got a crush,” Camille whispered in my ear.
“No!,” I tried to lie.
“You speak really good lies. Don’t you?” Camille laughed. “Please, even if you have past crushes, I helped you. Please it’s my first,” I said reminding her. “Okay fine but first you need to stop staring at him first. Do you even realize that he’s got a girlfriend?” Camille said. “What?” I got shocked. I didn’t know it at all. If I knew it all along, I might have never crushed him. “No worries, it’s just a crush. Anyways, don’t worry, Camille will help you out to get to him,” She hugged me and she too left. I was looking at myself in the mirror. I said Love is toxic and I fell asleep. I was determined to not crush over him but instead get him to crush over me.
The next day, I woke up at 6 and started my daily routine. I forgot my glasses forever and opened my box of contact lenses. I straightened my hair and made a high ponytail. With scrunchies in my hand, I held my expensive bag and waited for Lily to come with her elder brother.
When they came Lily and her brother were shocked looking at me.
“Heyy,” I said. “Why have you dressed like that? I mean you look good but...” Camilla said.
“We’re in high school now,” I said confidently and sat in the car.
Lily’s brother today didn’t play his favorite rock album and drove silently. Camille was pretty sure it was because of Lily. For me, I didn’t care and was totally concentrated on getting Eddie off the hook.
As we both reached school, no one was looking at us like they would bully us any second like in middle school. Maybe, this was because of the way how I dressed up. Camille and I were talking about our freshman notes when I spotted Eddie kissing his girlfriend near my locker and my heart shattered to pieces. His girlfriend was the middle school butterfly Charlotte. I was angry and sad at the same time but I showed courage.
“Hey, you get your kissing game out of here, I need to keep my stuff,” I said stiffly. When they didn’t listen, I pushed them aside and kept my stuff. “Hey, take it, easy girl,” Angelina said with pride. “Yeah, you almost sexed here,” I slammed her as Camille stared at me.
“You bitch,” Camille smiled. Angelina looked at me with envy and hatred as Eddie left.
Back in class, Camille said,” I warn you to be careful. I know you were badass out there but Angelina would seek out revenge. Remember what happened last year to Mia. She didn’t come to school for a month for getting off those hideous spots fo her face.
“I know, I feel a little scared but I’ll take it,” I replied but down I was scared to hell.
At lunch, I spotted her like she was plotting murder against me as I sat with my usual normal group with Camille. Eddie came in taking lunch towards his group sitting farside. I again stared at him but looked away. Remember what cousin Edith said love is dangerous. It only causes pain and suffering. I was damn sure that I would be able to forget Eddie but those teen hormones sort of killed me to death.
"How are you, girl?" Camille asked.
"Scared like hell. First, I want Eddie out of my life and then this Angelina. She'll murder me the second she got," I said with a really worried expression. "Girl, some crushes are hard to get over why don't you try to just slip it off? In class, Charlie invited you to the party. Let's go and have fun rather than worrying about all this teen shit," Camille said.
"The first day of my high school is fucked up," I said.
"Aww, cmon. It's normal but take care when a threat name Angelina is over your thraot," Camille warned again.
"Screw Angelina, screw Eddie, screw all the shit. You were right. Enjoy your life," I said as we both parted ways for our next class.
While walking Angelina pushed me to the cupboard and locked it. I hear her saying, "You'll slowly suffocate and sweat and when the janitor will open your gate he won't cause he's absent and hopefully, someone saves you bitch, or good if they don't" She walked away.
I banged the door as loud as I could but I was in the store room and no one could hear me. I was sweating heavily and struggling to breathe. I hoped someone would open the door. I am almost at the end and probably going to die soon. I barely had the strength to speak never mind to shout. I gathered my last strength to push the cupboard but before my body clashed with the cupboard, the gate opened and I fell straight to the ground. The last thing I saw was Eddie looking at me, worried.
