My Story

I’m new to this website, and I do intend to share my story, but probably not in the way you would anticipate. Without actually revealing the contents of the story, I’m going to tell you the story itself.

currently working on a project of a book that I plan on calling SAYONARA - WELCOME HOME, one word and one phrase that completely juxtapose each other, SAYONARA is a word meaning “Goodbye” in the English dictionary but the origin of the word comes from Japan, which really means “Goodbye forever” or a word that replaces a “goodbye, I don’t know when ill see you again”... and then there’s the phrase “WELCOME HOME” which can obviously be interpreted through many ways, but the phrase, for me at least, can refer to various difficulties in life, such as depression, substance abuse and relationships, and at the end of the day, most people get to go home.

The story will mainly focus on goodbyes, from situations where you have to say goodbye too soon, to situations when you aren’t able to say goodbye at all. The genre of the story is adventure, consisting of a mellow, nostalgic atmosphere, conveying a sense of loneliness and what its like to be completely secluded from the word you used to know, while another world unfolds around you.

A runaway teen, you leave your world behind. You flee the land you once lived in. But you’re overcome with a gargantuan melancholic feeling that you cant explain, everything around you starts to re-align, everything real turns fake, everything right turns wrong, everything true becomes a lie, and you’re left with a deafening silence. The world catechized around you and just like that... you’re on the road, exacerbating a feeling of vulnerability... hit the road!

Wish me luck!

I can’t go on without telling you about my inspirations for this book because I think that’s a really important aspect in story production, in which I have 3.

Number 1: Halo 3 ODST

This is a game that conveys a feeling of nostalgia and the gloomy atmosphere of an abandoned city, conveying a greater sense of loneliness, accompanied with nothing but melancholic music, exacerbating a feeling of vulnerability, where you’re outnumbered, yet undetected.

Number 2: Road 96

A melancholy game of a runaway teen, fleeing his country, only by himself. But occasionally meeting fascinating characters on his journey and yet again accompanied by nothing but melancholic music that perfectly fits in place with his/her journey, giving you a sense of nostalgia without ever hearing the music before.

And last but not least, Number 3: Aries

A criminally underrated music artist who creates mellow, nostalgic, pop style music. Music with meaning that goes deeper than many other. A sense of nostalgia all mixed in and intertwined with a bittersweet tale. He mainly inspired the name of this story with his hit single "sayonara" that I very much recommend you listen to as it conveys the same theme that im going with on this story.

Thanks for listening, sayonara!
