“Carino, hora de ir a la escuela.'' Yolanda yelled from the kitchen. It was Gabriela’s first day of school. Her madre, padre, and abuela all moved to Miami 13 years ago. It was time for Gabriella’s first year of high school. Gabriela is an excellent student. Her records have recorded that she has been in the Honor’s Assembly for five years. She already knows most of the material for ninth grade because in her spare time, she studies work in the next grade to be prepared. Her abuela is very proud of her. In fact, everyone is. She has won many awards and she has passed with honor roll every year since the third grade. It was the only year she struggled with two 80s in. She never truly understood the meaning of things in social studies and science. She blames it on the teacher not teaching correctly, but everyone knows, you can’t do everything perfectly. Everyone, but Gabriela.
