however you define yourself, greetings. This work is the result of a practicing mage-diviner doing some ancestral research while being a KPOP fan and being entirely too imaginative when it comes to spirits.
For the curious, I am Euro-Canadian. Genetically European, nationally Canadian (for a few generations). Meaning there are a lot of things that resonate with me.
Now, about the warnings. This work contains words or phrases in other languages. Due to my style choices, within Inkitt, they are marked by being italicized. I have a running index chapter that I'll add definitions to every time I upload a chapter.
This is an interracial/magical realism romance that sets up the wider universe that is Zodiac Clock. I've honestly been fucking nervous about this, gnawing on it for years but something told me it was time. This novella may or may not exceed 10k and be able to be entered into a contest. At this point, I care more about getting it read. Other warnings include that there is multiple murders in the Idol Brides series within the Zodiac Clock universe. The main characters are a white Scottish lass and a South Korean boyband leader. You will get a peek at the characters/setting of the Lysistrata Brannigan series. It takes place on a plantation that is still owned by the family won it and freed the then-slaves. While the slaves were freed long ago, the spirits linger and it takes the entire LB series to resolve things.
Among other things, there is speculation about when a character's brother and his male best friend. Two of the male MC's bandmates were abused and it DOES come up in the books planned for them. The female MC (Maggie) ruminates often on her not-relationship with her mother. If these things are hard to read, I urge you to what is best for yourself.
It has not ever been my intention to appropriate the cultures/heritages of others. I have written from the perspective of characters other than the white female MC (though her perspective is the majority of the work) because that was the story as it demanded to be written.
