Ranting number 1.
Ah, old stories of dragons, knights, and damsels in distress. They've all been done plenty before, but for me, I'd like to add to the pile.
There is an old legend of two dragons who found a village to help bestow their wisdom and antics upon it over in Wales, there was an old dragon, Brangwen Caddick was his name, Elden and brittle, fair and cynical, and wise and impeccable for he was a dragon of a century long ago. The younger dragon, Huarar Cardigan looked upon his rantings with salt and disgrace, for he was but an old dragon of odd occurrence in his eyes. Tarnishing and belittling, young and niave, but still, fair and cynical. Huarar tarnished his wisdom for all of his life, pleasing his young desires for short term satisfaction. Now it sounds like he is just, and with full scientific evidence, a bigoted asshole, and you'd be absolutely correct. His wisdom often defied what he called the draconic rule, as it always concluded with enough blasphemy to kill the desire to follow it, but when he retaliated with Huarar's own logic, Huarar simply shunned him with no hesitation, as he had no more arguments that would work, even with the delusion of an old man spouting nonsense like he was apparently to huarar, apathetic and unsparing he were to him, Brangwen only remained calm and polite.
One day during the dragon's brawl with his rantings, a very agitated Huarar said "Fine! Let's settle this old man! We'll see what spreads faster, my bonfire of knowledge, or your endless rants!"
And unknowing to him, he had just spread the most heated debates to this day, Kindness or Mindless, as they both clash with one another to this day, you can see the Mindless part plenty in most social media comments or posts, *cough* Twitter, and you rarely see the kind part in those parts, a bit sad honestly.
As Bwangwen was old and brittle he could only go to so many villages to spread his words, even as a dragon, but plenty did not trust his admittedly wild antics of his plans and ambitions, as he was an old dragon not of their kind. Only a few trusted his words with their open mindedness, and they too helped the dragon to spread his kinship and kindness.
For Huarar however, it spread like bonfire, allowing people to be them selves while hindering everyone else because they do not follow them, allowing them all to be happy with themselves and make them seem like they are being completely reasonable and factually correct. It's why such egotistical people exist, for they are corrupted with Huarar's curse.
But once you kill off Huarar's curse within people, it changes who people are, changing everything they believed in, who they were, and what they wanted to be or do, and if you lived on this earth for more than 10 years, you know people don't like change, something Bwangwen noticed with his long life and wisdom.
With Bwangwen's blessing of knowledge, people where indeed allowed to be themselves, but only to a degree that they didn't necessarily want, like being slightly less rude than they want to be with that cunt who stole their food for that night, or being less aggressive to that dog who got your fancy new clothes all mudded up, and other circumstances like that. But in turn, they were better overall people, being kind to the ones who are less fortunate, letting people rant to them without judgement, and being calmer in aggressive conversations.
However, the spread of this was a meer poodle compared to Huarar's way. As people like to be themselves and feel important, sometimes that's good if they are inherently not evil, whatever that means to you, and to hear that validation of that your way of life is the only correct way to live is what sets people to be unchanging and indifferent, but hearing that your way of life is not the best way of life certainly hurts, perhaps you've unfortunately felt that, but hearing that allows you to be better, that you can learn to be better, treat others with kindness and empathy, and learn not to hate others for living their way of their own life. However, it means you do indeed need to change however drastic it needs to be, something most are not willing to take, but when the people who follow Bwangwen's blessing, often feel like it was the best thing in their life, perhaps it was, but often times it's just the feeling of 'Oh. That was all me who did that, congratulations to myself' kind of feeling (yes I forgot the term for that.)
Eventually at the end of time, the two dragons met again once more, Huarar was changed with the rot of age, Bwangwen only got older, for he already changed. Huarar looked at the older dragon with sadness and regret.
"I'm sorry." said the younger dragon
"You need not be younger one, I've forgiven you the second you placed that bet."
"Why? What did I do to deserve forgiveness?"
"You didn't do much to be regressed of your old mistakes, but it was merely my kindness to forgive you."
"Why do so? Why do anything of that?"
"Oh it's simple, it's nicer to be nice, remember that, for it will be forgotten with the lingering curse of unchanging life. But you can mend those mistakes, and make better choices later."

You may be wondering how I found out that story, and it's simple, I made it up. There were no two dragons named Bwangwen or Huarar over in Wales, but it was a concept I made up so people can better understand on how I think. I hope this helped you, however that may be, a reminder that I am only a 15 year old boy with menial knowedge of the world, but I know that it's simply nice, to be nice.
