Chapter 1: A Fateful Encounter
"You see any supplies we can use, bro?"
Sonic the Hedgehog and his brother Tony were walking around the wasteland of what used to be their home, only to look for supplies, salvaging anything they can find useful.
*clutter*
Tony's ears perked up, and looked at Sonic. "Did you hear something?" he asked. Sonic heard it too, and nodded. They went around the big pile of trash and metals to find a female jackal.
"Hello ma'am. You seem lost. Are you okay-"
Tony was interrupted by Sonic, who stopped him. "She looks like Infinite, Tony. We shouldn't trust her." he told him, as he went back to the safe place. Tony stayed silent, and carried the girl in his arms.
"Don't mind my brother, he has trouble trusting people who look like bad people. But I'm taking you in." The jackal blushed a bit, but she really appreciated what he offered her.
[Meanwhile...]
"Any luck?" Amy asked, looking at a computer Tails was trying to get to work. "We only found a few supplies..."
"...and another survivor!" Tony interrupted, carrying the jackal girl they found alone. He safely placed her on her feet and luckily, she could still walk.
"Tony, I told you that she looks like Infinite! We cannot trust her!" Sonic yelled, slamming his fist on the table. Everyone else watching was shocked, since they have never seen Sonic so angry before in their lives.
"So what, you expect me to leave her to die?!" Tony talked back, defending the survivor, "We don't just leave people to die, Sonic! We're heroes! We help people, damnit!" The jackal girl covered her ears.
"Sonic, stop it! You're hurting the girl's ears!" Amy demanded, as she petted the jackal girl's head. "You're actually going to trust that jackal?!" Sonic said angrily, pissed off at his friend. "Get out of here, you fiend!" The jackal girl sighed, and left in tears. Amy growled, and left the room.
Meanwhile, the jackal girl was crying on a cement block, upset about Sonic ranting against her. Before she could sob any longer, she heard a window open from behind her.
"Hey... you okay?" Tony came up from behind her. He saw she was in tears, so he pulled out a napkin and wiped her tears away.
"I'm extremely sorry about my brother. He's really on edge with this whole apocalypse thing. But I'm not going to just let you be alone. I'll take care of you in private." He then pulled out a plate with a sandwich on it, and offered it to her.
The jackal girl looked at it and looked at him, then embraced the red hedgehog. She then spoke, "I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Jordan." she said with a smile.
"Oh, so you can talk. Now let's go inside, Jordan." Tony said, going inside his room from the window.
[Day 1]
Jordan woke up and was surprised to find herself on Tony's bed. But Tony was nowhere to be seen. She looked down to see Tony sleeping on the floor. "Strange, I thought I slept on the floor last night." she said, wondering what went on last night.
"Oh, right. I almost forgot I had us switch beds. I figured that since you were out there alone, I thought you were more deserving of the bed."
Jordan blushed, but smiled, and hugged him as a way of saying thanks. Meanwhile, Tony went outside the room to get some food for Jordan, but accidentally left the door unlocked.
"Hey Tony, I need to borrow your-" Amy gasped to see Jordan back. "How did you get back in?! Sonic will be mad!" she panicked. "Calm down! Tony let me in through the window." she explained, hoping Amy would calm down.
Later on, Tony came in, and explained everything to Amy. She understood, and promised not to tell Sonic, as she knew how mad Sonic was earlier.
Tony came back with 4 burger sliders, homemade by Amy. He gave Jordan 2, and they ate in peace. Jordan really appreciated how Tony took her in when his brother wouldn't. She hoped that one day Sonic would accept her as a part of their survival group.
[Day 2]
An explosion woke the two up from their sleep. Jordan panicked, and looked out the window. She saw none other than Infinite. "Oh god. Wait here, Jordan. I don't want Sonic to find out you're here." Tony said, as he left outside with the others.
Jordan walked back and forth, hoping Tony could be okay. She felt the ground vibrate slightly, and explosions occurred from outside. She could only imagine what terrible things could happen to her friend.
An hour passed, and Jordan was laying on Tony's bed, waiting, and waiting, until Amy burst into the room. "Jordan! Tony went after Infinite, alone!"
