Chapter I

Meeting you was both the greatest and most dreadful time of my life.

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, another one like every weekend. Mother always liked it when we dressed up and went to lunch or dinner at a fancy restaurant. In a town full of snobby people, we 'had' to pretend to fit in. The money wasn’t much but is always enough to waste on new clothes for every Sunday.

I never enjoyed these dinners. I would rather stuff my face with chunk food than eat those tiny meals that did nothing to satisfy my stomach.

The shallow and boring conversations, the fake smiles, and the snarly comments were never my cup of tea.

It’s almost time.

After putting my sneakers on, I gently open the door of my room and start walking down the corridor. I can hear the noise of my brother’s old computer running, he always plays games after coming from dinner.

I take more careful steps as I am passing my mom’s room. The door is a little ajar, peaking through it I glance at the sea of food surrounding my mother’s sleeping body in the bed.

Walking down the stairs, the only division I have left to pass is the living room. Father is snoring while nursing his favorite bottle of whiskey.

Quickly checking the time on my smartwatch, I notice a notification of a message.

-- “I’m already here waiting for you baby” --

A big smile immediately comes. If my parents knew about this, I do not know if they would lock me up or send me to marry him.

How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
