Chapter 1
"Oh shit, its 6 in the morning!?", younha yelled looking at the time as she spent her whole night reading a book on fantasy.
Younha is 20 years old who lives in new york in a dorm with her best friend hazel.
They both study in the harvard university. Younha and hazel both are a literature major and are bright students.
Talking about younha, she loves fantasy stories. Her room also consists of a huge cupboard covering one portion of the wall.
All of the shelves consits of many different books which she have completed reading.
Younha gets up from her bed and goes to get freshed for her classes today. Taking a warm shower, she was dressed in a bath robe. She dries her hair and goes to pick a comfy outfit for herself.
"I just dont get it. Its the month of july but still it feels as cold as if its the month of december.", she says to herself.
Opening up her blinds she sees the sun giving its light but the only difference is that the light isnt that bright as it used to be. Its weak, the sun looks like its dying.
From a bright yellow, it has turned white and pale. But no one cared because they all had their own problems.
Getting her laptop, note books and pens, she heads out of the room and goes to make herself some breakfast.
But as soon as she opens the door, she sees her bestfriend hazel in the kitchen all ready and two suitcases in the living room.
"Hey good morning! I totally forgot your going back home today.", younha said with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
"Its okay, I've made breakfast for you. I thought you were sleeping but your up early.", she said and placed the plate filled with pancakes infront of her.
"Nope I havent slept at all. I was up all night reading the mystery of the disappeared king.", younha said.
"You and your fantasy books. There's another life out there you know beside these books?", hazel said but younha didnt cared.
"I love this life of mine and i dont think it needs to be changed and as for having fun, i do have you dont i?", younha said.
"Mhm yeah your right.", hazel said. The both of them were disturbed when they heard the headlines on the tv.
"The scientists could not find the cause of the suns lacking energy. Its happening all by itself. Looks like the day is near when the sun will die.", the reporter said.
"The sun has been acting all weird since the month of may. Looks like we are finally reaching the day we all die.", hazel said giving up hope.
"No i don't think so maybe there is some non fictional thing or cause doing this.", younha said.
"Younha for godsake. Please for once think something in reality, these myths dont exist. The day of doom is near don't you understand and your just making up this fantasy story of yours!", hazel said getting emotional and scared because of this reality.
"Im sorry haze, come here...", younha said and hugged her friend calming her.
"Im scared younha......it's all happening too fast. It felt like we were young yesterday but now we are dying.", she said.
"Dont worry calm down, they will figure something out.", younha consoled.
Suddenly hazel got a call. Breaking the hug she picks the call.
"Hello? Yeah im coming in a bit. Yeah yeah im ready.", hazel said and cut the call.
"Looks like my car is here. So I'll see you after a month!", hazel hugged younha and taking the suitcases she went out the dorm.
"Bye!", hazel said and closed the door. "Come on younha lets get going to the uni.", younha told herself.
And taking her stuff, she too left from the dorm. As she gets out of the building, she shivers from the cold and quickly hugging her cardigan she runs to her car and gets inside.
Turning on the engine and the heater, she drives out from the driveway and heads to the University.
It took her 10 minutes as the university was near the dorms.
Parking her car in the parking lot, she gets out and first heads to the library as she had reached early, thus there were less students.
Her joggers tapping against the marble floors, she makes her way to the library through a empty corridor.
Opening the doors, she is met by a huge old library, that was as big as a house. Huge bookshelves placed in the middle with study tables on the corners, attached to the wall.
On the entrance there was a old age librarian who cheered up as she saw younha.
"Younha dear, your here! You wont believe we have some really amazing new stock. Ive just placed them on the shelves.", the librarian said.
"Oh thanks miss june!", younha said and went to the counter to return a book she had borrowed yesterday.
"I'm sure you have completed this book haven't you?", june said.
"Yes i have!", younha smiled returning back the book to her. "I'll go and choose a new book.", she said and started roaming around the shelves.
The smell of the paper and the old books, made her heart flutter. She loved this smell it was somehow intriguing. Younha would always have a hint that there is a book waiting for her.
Rummaging through the books, her finger tips touching the edges of the old paper that had worn out, she felt a light coming from the corner of the room.
"What's that? Where's that light coming from?", she whispered to herself and went towards that corner.
Younha came closer to see a book was glowing, she was confused.
"What's this?", she said and took out the book from the shelf. But it wasn't glowing anymore.
Younha flipped the book looking through it, looking from where the light had came but nothing.
"The Elementals?", she said reading the title of the book, but suddenly the book shelves started to shake, younha got scared wondering if there was an earth quake, but instead it was the book.
"Miss june! Something's wrong with this book!", younha yelled because the shaking was more violent this time. But miss june was nowhere to be seen. All the books started falling one by one and the book again began to glow this time.
It was more brighter than last time. Younha tried to open the book but it was tightly sticked together as if someone had glued the pages together.
Just then the light became so powerful nearly blinding her, younha closed her eyes and a powerful force came and hit her, making her collide with the wall.
After she collided, everything became normal but younha was trembling with the pain in her back.
"Ah..it hurts!", she said to herself and opened her eyes to see everything was normal. The book was no longer glowing or causing the bookshelves to shake. And the books were also back in their places.
"H..how could this be?", younha said to herself and her mind started to fill with all those questions.
She looked at the book and only one thing came to her mind.
'This book isn't any ordinary book.'
"Younha?", her attention was diverted as she saw miss june looking at her.
"Why are you lying over there?", she asked. Before younha could answer, the bell started ringing.
She quickly got up and taking the book she went to june.
"Miss june. I want to issue this book!", she said and handed the book to june.
"Alright.", she said and typed something into the computer and handed the book back to younha.
"Here you go!", june said and putting the book in the bag, younha quickly ran outside the library.
But little did she know, miss june had a big smile on her face as she saw her leave.
Running through the corridors and passing by the students, nearly bumping into them. She entered her class with a fuss.
Jerking the door open, all the eyes of the class room was on her. "Younha?", the professor said.
"I'm sorry sir, i woke up a bit late.", younha made a excuse and went to sit on her seat.
"It's alright, its your first time coming this late so I'll let you sit this time.", the professor said.
"Thankyou sir!", she said and took out her book, getting ready for the lecture.
"So today we will study about the.....", the professor continued with the lecture and erasing all the early memories, younha focused on the lecture only.
But she felt some eyes were on her, younha looked in one of the front to see a boy looking at her. She was shocked because the boy was no ordinary guy.
He was the most famous boy of the school, everyone's crush. Kim Namjoon, the second topper of the class.
