Summary

"The warden said I'll be receiving the chair tomorrow, too bad we couldn't have more fun officer." She spoke seductively as she twirled around the hoop that was attached to the top of the cage. "What? But that's not possible, you've only been in here for a couple months." I replied shocked, this wasn't how it was supposed to end. No she was meant to be here longer, with me. "I know right but the warden said so, maybe he just got tired of me. And here I thought I was bringing justice to this cruel world by taking out a few criminals."She explained then looked down with a small trace of sadness in her eyes. "At least I got to meet you, kinda cliché I guess." She finished off with a small laugh then continued her aerial tricks. A little hobby she grew fond of in here. "I won't let it end this way." I whispered to her but she paid no attention and continued on her aerial hoop. I walked out from her area and slammed my fist against the wall. I've grown too attached to this woman, and I don't plan on letting her go receive death like an old friend. Not now, and certainly not ever. Mark my words. I'll get her out of this and she will be mine. A/N this story is originally on Wattpad but not many people have ready it so I decided to upload it here. I hope you enjoy.

A New Life

Carmen's P.O.V.

"God damn it Derrick could you be any slower." I yelled at my so called partner in crime, he was taking so much god damn time with taking the glass off.

"We need to make it look like no one was here, plus you know how sweaty my hands get so stop complaining." He replied which made me bite my lip, this is why I work alone but I can't go against bosses orders.

"Alright all set, from what the boss said there's some high tech here so let's go down cautiously." Derrick explained and I nodded then grabbed onto the rope.

"I'll see you down there then." I said and jumped down into the jewelry store, the rope slid down the mid part of my thigh as I scaled down. My combat boots echoed through the silent room while I examined all the glass containers filled with jewelry galore.

"Where do I even start." As I was about to make my way through the store Derrick came down and stopped me.

"Not so fast there, security cameras are still on plus the alarm." He said and I took out my phone and did what Alissa told me to do. She is our hacker in this little gang of thieves, I did what was asked and she would do the rest from our base.

"All set, now can I get my half of the bargain." I replied making Derrick sigh and give me the thumbs up. Skipping among the store I looked down at my watch and saw Alissa give the signal, I took my silencer and shot at the five glass cases.

I heard the sound of glass shattering and looked over to see Derrick filling his bag with the jewelry. I did the same until my heart stopped, the sound of boots trying to ease their way into the shop made me quicken my pace at collecting the stuff.

"I already finished with my load Derrick I'll meet you up on the roof." I spoke and he nodded while examining a diamond necklace.

I climbed up the rope until I was safely on the roof, cutting off my rope I quickly cut through Derricks. He stopped and hurried over to the part of the glass roof where I was at, the look on his face full of shock brought chills of adrenaline through my body.

"Sorry sweetie but this is where we part ways, have fun in prison." I said and started running.

"CARMEN!!!!!!" He yelled as I continued to run then jumped off the roof and onto the next, I spotted the group of police cars lined up near the entrance of the jewelry store. Like I said I never was good with working with others, and now that I have enough cash for my own place I work alone now.

I stoped running after I neared the end of the buildings and climbed down the ladder, dropping down onto the floor I took the cover off of my black Yamaha R6. Smiling at it I hopped on my bike, after turning it on I drove through the alley and into the streets. It was late at night with only a couple of cars left, garbage trucks were collecting their trash and the street lights were still on in New York.

Now did I feel bad for leaving Derrick behind to get caught by the cops, no I didn't. That little gang wasn't fun, all I wanted was enough cash and they knew that. But never when. The only reason why I stayed in it was because he asked me to, saying he needed me to be by his side. Bullshit. Jackson was my boyfriend or the boss as me and Derrick knew by, we kept it low and never told anyone about it. And he had good reasons, he didn't want his side chicks knowing about us. He was with a new women every month, and I was one of them who believed it was just me and him.

Anyways he's the past now, all that I'm looking forward to is spending all his money he collected. I would love to explain more about our relationship but frankly the past doesn't intrigue me, I'm only looking forward now. I came to a stop when a red light stood above me, they should start to suspect something by now. But I know for certain Derrick is gone and the rest of them, well let's just say I gave the cops another little tip.

I gripped onto the accelerator as the light turned green and made my way further into the city, the ride wasn't too far from my new home. My own apartment, it was better then from where I started off. Finally a place I could call my own.

Making my way into the underground garage I found my lot and parked my bike, I walked inside the elevator and pressed the button to the 80th floor. The feeling of the elevator being lifted came up as I took out my apartment keys, tonight would be my first night here. Everything was situated to my liking, all that was left was to sleep and rest for tomorrow's job.

The elevator rang and the doors opened, I walked out and went down the hallway then stopped at my door. The key slid in perfectly and I turned the knob to unlock my door, I was greeted with a dark apartment until I flicked the switch and the lights turned red. I closed the door and locked it then just stepped inside my bedroom where I fell onto the bed, tomorrow is another day Carmen. A new day of your new life. I said to myself and with that I fell asleep.

My eyes were irritated by the strong light, I opened them to see the buildings I used to look up to. I got up and looked out the window and below onto the scenery of cars stuck in traffic, people walking on the sidewalk and cars honking. The city was alive and that meant it was time to work.

I heard the sound of my ring tone go off and I looked over to my phone that was laid on my bed, the police had reported another rape crime into the system. Henry David was the man who had been reported yet again for this crime, they haven't caught him and it boiled my blood to know he was still out there. But not for long.

I headed to the bathroom first and began my shower, my leather catsuit was stripped off my body as I stepped into the cold water and began to wash myself. After a couple of minutes I finished my routine and got out, drying myself up I then made my way back into my bedroom where I picked out my outfit for today.

Anyways I'll save you a bit of trouble with explaining things, I just picked out a black coat with a white button up and black pants. I let my hair dry and curl the ends of it for a blowout look then after storing my gun to the back of my pants I was ready to go. I left my apartment in a flash and was soon walking the busy streets. Looking down at my phone I studied the mans face, it was strange to me that he kept getting away from the police and was still not found.

After walking for around fifteen minutes I made a sharp left and opened the door to a bar, not many people were here besides a couple of men and some women. But I wasn't here to scope out the area, I had to pay a visit. I went up the stairs and knocked on the door, no one was allowed here and no one would dare step a foot up here.

"Hey Alissa, it's me Carmen." I spoke then knocked on the door three times, a small part of the door opened and a man looked down at me. He closed the little part then opened the door, he began to walk and so I followed him. Then I was brought with Alissa Michaels.

"Good to see you Carmen, I'm glad you went along with your side of the deal. Here as you asked for, don't worry it's all there." She said and threw me a briefcase, I caught it and held tightly onto the handle.

"Thanks for the payment, did they get taken away as planned." I asked and she nodded.

"Yup for a twenty year sentence, not bad but it will do. Please take a seat, anyways so how is the new new place. Everything to your liking." Alissa grinned as I sat down on the leather couch across from her.

"Really good actual, so what's next on the agenda boss." She smirked at my choice of words and sat down on her gaming chair then proceeded to type on her computer.

"Well I need you to kill a couple of guys, they're wanted for charges and drug smuggling. I believe it was two thousand for each, plus Henry David is still on the move. His head is worth a couple more on the market, anyways that pretty much sums it. All their data is on your phone and all your devices, also here there's a new suit I've been working on and some little toys for you to play with." She answered and I nodded then was handed a backpack.

"Thanks Alissa you can consider those men dead by tomorrow." I said and Alissa smiled.

"I know you won't disappoint me anyways be careful there's more crime and the police is getting tighter, now go I got some work to do." She replied.

"Alright boss see you next week." I added then left the bar and was back on the sidewalk to my home, I had to get this cash into my safe and prepare my weapons for tonight.

I looked down at my phone and read through the information on the men she assigned me, they were all in different parts which was going to be a drag but I signed up for this. Some may question on what my profession is, well to put it in a simple answer I'm an assassin. I kill people on the black market wanted dead or bounties that Alissa finds, did it ever bother me to kill someone. Not at all. Because when I killed someone I felt alive, I felt what others feel everyday. Their humanity. And if that was in the form of killing others, then I would take it.

Anywho look at that I'm already in front of my apartment, I walked back inside and went up the elevator and made my way into my room. I moved the racks of clothes I had and pushed my thumb in, after the scanner turned green the safe opened and in it was stacks of money, jewelry, and guns. I opened the briefcase and stacked the new amount of money with the rest of it. Then I grabbed a couple of silencers and attached them to my pistols, I scanned the room more and picked up some buck knifes.

Now I was all set for my killing rounds, honestly I didn't need much weapons. Too much and I can't run as fast so I have to be light on my feet, especially when it comes to parkour.

I turned in too late last night and now the sun was already setting, it was as if time only quickened. Like it was asking me to go through with this job, to make my hands more dirty. But then again it's not like I ever had a chance at a good afterlife. Sins became my job and the sins of others is what continued this work, anyways back onto schedule.

Nightfall came quicker then expected as I already finished up getting ready, the suit that Alissa gave me was supper comfortable and matched well with the curves of my body. I walked out of my apartment with my leather coat on and went down into the garage, my bike was still in the same place I left it. As I got on I made my way out of the garage and into the streets, let's get to work.

I looked down at the screen of my bike which had the directions for my first victim, Alex Williams. A former ex convict who escaped from prison and is now on the run, still dealing with his drug heist till this day. Alissa tracked him and he was at a nearby bar, I parked my bike in a nearby alleyway and made my way inside the bar.

Loud music play through the room as flashing lights and the smell of alcohol grew, I never was one to be at a bar. All this drinking and body's colliding, it disgusted me.

I scanned the room and with my luck I found him with a couple of strippers near the back, cautiously I kept walking around trying to blend in with the crowd. I hid behind a wall that was about a couple feet away from him and secluded from the crowd, so I quickly grabbed my gun and shot at him. Taking a picture for verification I left the bar as screaming was heard and people began to run, nothing like the sound of chaos to start the days work.

I was back on my bike and on the road for my next assignment, this one was more farther down. Benjamin Smith a burglar from out of town who came to New York, he struck big with breaking into peoples houses and still wasn't caught.

Making a sharp right I went faster down the almost empty street, some pretty high houses where here which is just the neighborhood you would find him in. I parked my bike a couple houses away from the one he was at, I have to give it to Alissa for tracking these scums. I know sure as hell I can't work a computer the way she does, anyways I walked down the sidewalk until I notice one of the houses window was opened.

I make my way to the side of the house and peak inside, there's the guy. He was wearing all black with a duffel bag in his hand as he grabbed stuff around the house, I waited until he was in a different room and then I jumped in. You could still hear his footsteps creaking around the hard wood floor, I made my way quietly to where he was and took out my gun.

"Gotcha." I said as his head whiplashed to where I was and I shot him. His body fell onto the ground as I knelt down and took his mask off, fuck.

It wasn't him.

I quickly turned around and dodged the bat that was swung at me, I aimed my gun and shot at him countless times throughout his body. Fuck I never though he would have an accomplice. After the small fright I got up and took the second guys mask off and low and behold I got the right one. I took a picture of both of them and stepped on the guys body since I didn't want my boots getting stained with their blood, and with that I jumped out of the window I came in.

Then back I was on my bike, only two more guys left. As I began to drive on the road I notice more cop cars around the streets and neighborhoods. I slowed down on the road since I wasn't risking anything, my first chance at a new life wasn't going to go to waste so easily.

I continued to drive for around twenty minutes or so until I parked my bike in another alleyway, as I got off I began to walk with the crowd of people while glancing up and down from my phone. He was nearby. Daniel Richardson a human trafficker, kidnapping girls as early as eleven. I despise men who take advantage over women, they don't deserve to be here. They deserve to suffer, and I plan on making them.

My body was suddenly pulled by someone or something, I found myself in between two shops with a couple of men. At least I found the guy I'm looking for.

"Don't screams and we won't hurt you alright sweetheart." One of the guys said as he held his sweaty hand over my mouth.

"Oh we're going to have a fun time with you, how much do you think she'll go for boss." Another one asked while looking over to Daniel.

"Hmm hard to say with this big coat on." Daniel answered, alright I think I played the helpless role enough now. I kicked my leg backwards resulting in a kick to the balls for the man that was holding me. Taking my knife out I stabbed the guy to the side of me and did the same to the one I kicked.

"So about that fun time Daniel." I hummed then with my other hand took my gun out and shot him, I shot the rest of them and took a picture as proof.

I went down the alleyway so I wouldn't be suspected of anything, then I turned and was back on the sidewalk. The people walking scurried their ways into their homes as the night grew older. Now I only have one last guy to kill, I killed more then expected this time around.

"Excuse me miss but you shouldn't be around so late at night, I don't mean to be rude but there has been some crimes going on lately." I stopped walking when I heard a deep husky voice coming from behind me. I turned around and was brought with a cop, a strangely handsome one I may add but unimportant.

"Oh I'm sorry officer it's just been a long day at work but I'm heading home now thank you." I spoke in the sweetest tone I could possible speak in.

"No worries miss, please allow me to walk you to your car. It's my job to ensure the safety of others." Bullshit, but just go along with it Carmen.

"Well if you insist then, thank you." I said and he nodded, we began to walk towards the alleyway I left my bike and it was getting awkward.

"So how was your day miss." He asked.

"It was good." I replied, honestly I didn't want to start a conversation with him even if the awkward silence was deafening.

"Well here we are thank you for walking me I really appreciate it officer." I said which made him smile, as I got on my bike he waved me goodbye and I did the same. Then I was back on the rode. God I just hope I don't run into another situation like that, just one slip up is all it takes for them to get suspicions.

Anyways I continued to drive off until I was at the final destination, Henry David's house. It was small and looked worn down, like the house had lost its light. I parked my bike in front of the house since I was going to make it quick, stepping off I walk quietly over to the side of the house. I peaked through the window and watched as he drank his bottle of tequila, he was definitely wasted. Might as well end his life, he deserved it anyways.

I walked a couple feet back and ran head first into the window, I shielded my face and rolled onto the wood floor. Glass shards scattered all around the floor from where I landed, he brought his attention towards me and looked frightened.

"The devil said it's your time Henry, tell him I send my regards." I spoke then shot him in the leg, he deserved to suffer. And I wasn't going to let some bullet wound end it. Taking out my knife I took his hand and stabbed it onto the small wooden table.

"Please please stop, I'll give you anything you want just please stop!" He cried out and in that moment my blood boiled, the same feeling from leaving Derrick behind entered my body as I gave him a wicked grin. I loved when I got this way.

"Oh but Henry nothing can save you now, so let's not keep the devil waiting. But then again I believe he prefers his victims to the point where they are begging for death." I replied and took my second knife then cut one of his fingers off.

He yelled in agony and pain which only fueled me more to continue on.

"Now should I cut the rest of your hand off or start with gouging out your eyes, I could slice your stomach and bring all your organs out for display. But in the end, it's nothing compared to what those women had to endure." I hummed and cut another of his finger off, he yelled more and more as I continued until. He had no more fingers.

My phone rang as I took it out and saw the caller ID then answered.

"Hello boss you called at just the perfect time, I'm giving our little friend Henry what he deserves. Care to listen." I asked

"No not right now Carmen plus you know how I get with blood, anyways cops are showing up in three. Some neighbors decided to ruin your little fun, anyways make it quick." Alissa spoke then hung up, I sighed as there wasn't much time left.

"Looks like we'll have to cut our visit short Henry but I'm not leaving without a little prize, those blue eyes seem intriguing." I said and he continued to yell out in pain as I opened his right eye and began to slowly carve it out. The eyelid began to bleed as my blade skimmed through it, it was almost out as I saw all the blood that began to gush out.

I sliced through the last bits of flesh that connected his eye as I heard the sound of sirens, I place it in a plastic ziplock and took my gun out then shot him in the face.

I made my way out through the window as I saw the blinking lights of red and blue, fuck they were all in front of my bike. It would be hard to get it back now but I knew I wasn't leaving my baby behind. So I hopped the fence and made my way through a strangers backyard, I kept this up until I was around the block. I could see them in the distance as the ambulance took the body and away. The police remained there for what seemed like fucking forever until the began to leave one by one.

Once the coast was clear I made my way back and quickly got on my bike, I went the other way since I didn't want to run into them. I continued to drive until a cop car came out of nowhere, another surrounded me from behind as they stepped out with their guns pointed towards me.

"Miss please step off of the vehicle with your hands up." One of the cops said, fuck.

They could shoot me at any moment now, if I go with them willingly they'll know about the eye and weapons. But then again fuck it.

I turned the gas on and drove into the sidewalk, from there I made my way onto the road with them on my tail. As I continued to go faster they were soon far enough behind, safe at last I thought to myself until I fell off my bike. I hit the ground hard, honestly I though it was from how fast I was going and some pot hole I drove into. But I was wrong, a row of black spikes were on the floor, fuck no wonder they slowed down.

I had to get out of here, my body ached in pain as I looked down. Small splatters of blood were on the black cemented floor, shit come on body move. I continued my attempts at getting up but failed, I had no idea why but nonetheless I started to crawl on the floor. I know I know weird and disgusting but it was better then going to jail.

"Going somewhere."
