Outside Camp

Willowkit sat up, sunshine beamed into the nursery; warming her fur like it always did. She noticed that Blackkit was not in his nest.

He must have left the nursery again, but it is only still early dawn. Why would he be out already?

“Hey, Willowkit. Come on! I want to show you something.” Blackkit suddenly whispered making Willowkit jump. “Shhh! Don’t make Mistpool up! Come on!”

Willowkit quietly jumped over her mother’s paws and rushed after Blackkit as he walked out of the nursery.

“Why now?” She asked looking around the camp. “What are you wanting to show me?”

“I saw some prey and thought that it would be cool if we catch some for the clan!” Blackkit quietly exclaimed, walking over to the exit of the camp.

“No- we can’t-” Willowkit hissed backing up.

“Oh, ya right! Stop being a scared ball of fur! I want to show that we can get our Apprentice names early if we show that we are brave.” Blackkit meowed grabbing Willowkit by the scruff and walking outside of the camp.

“LET GO OF ME!” Willowkit yowled clawing at the air.

“Be quiet, are you wanting to wake up the whole clan with your yowling?” Blackkit growled even though he had fur in his jaws.

“WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO!?” YOU CAN’T-” Willowkit yowled but before she could finish, water smashed into her face as Blackkit let her go in the stream.

“Since you won’t be quiet for once, you’re going to drown in the water until you STOP.” Blackkit smirked as he started to walk away.

Willowkit tried to protect but her lungs suddenly started to hurt, she struggled to get her paws onto a steppingstone. When she got her breath back, she knew what she HAD to do.

“MOM!!!!!! HELP ME!!!” Willowkit yowled but Blackkit quickly pushed her head back into the water.

Help me please...

She could smell the fear sent of her mother as she appeared from the entrance of the camp, Longstar close behind. Longstar pushed Blackkit away and grabbed Willowkit by her scruff. He let her go as her mother ran over.

“What were you thinking!” Longstar growled looking down at Blackkit. “You could have killed Willowkit!”

“You aren’t supposed to be outside of came.” Mistpool hissed tucking Willowkit close to her.

“It was Blackkit’s fault! He carried me here and tried KILLING ME!!!” She growled and looked over at Blackkit. “I didn’t want to go!”

“Let’s go back to camp.” Longstar meowed while looked over at Mistpool.
