1 - You Can’t Just Run Away from Your Problems

Xelania was heading home, soaked from the rainfall that had started about five minutes after they started walking, and the tears they got everywhere. Arriving home, they peeked through the doorway with their puffy, teary eyes, and called to see if their step-mother had left or gone to sleep. No response.

“Haaahh…. Finally, peace and quiet.”

They stepped through the door and took of their shoes before staggering to their room in exhaustion. “I'm never running like that again.” They groan as they flop face-first onto their bed with a droopy face.

"Uugghhhh... what time is it again..?" They rolled over to grab their flip-phone from the nightstand. ".....Great."

Realizing it was almost lunch time, and that they didn't want to see their step-mother again wasn't exactly a good combination. Reluctantly, they stood up and checked the kitchen for their step-mother... Not there.

"Alright, I'll just check the bathroom..?"

Not there either.

"Ok seriously, where the hell is she?!?" They shouted.

It was pure, dead silence as they opened the door to their parents' room. They were speechless. Nothingness. But then...

"Holy..." The were in shock. The room was in shambles. Everything scattered. But more importantly... blood. All over the corner of the bed. There was a puddle in the floor right below. Inspecting more closely, they noticed a gun peeking out from under the bed. Was this their step-mother's doing? Was she dead? However, to them it didn't matter.

"YES!!!! FINALLY..." They fell to their knees in relief. It was over. It was all over. They just knew she was dead, even if she weren't there as proof. In that moment, they didn't care if she was alive or dead, they just wanted their step-mother to suffer like she made them suffer.

They got up from their knees, taking it slowly. It didn't last for long, though. "WOO-HOO!!!!" They chanted. They sprinted through the house, out the door of their parents' room and into the living room. The real question was, how did this happen in the first place? Thinking of just that, Xelania stopped their running spree. Although still filled to the brim with adrenaline, they tried to settle down and decided that they wanted answers, and would do just about anything to confirm that she was at least in agony. So, they decided to check the news for the first time in months. That being, it was also the first time they'd even looked at the television in that long.

They powered on the television in the living room. "Agh!!! Shut up!!!" They angrily got up and punched the television until the loud, agressive static came to an end. "Sheesh. Took damn long enough."

"...and now for today's recent news," declared the reporter. "At a local bar, an unidentified woman commits suicide after harassing and potentially injuring a majority of it's patrons."

"Wait, that's..."

"If you have any information about the woman shown here, please contact local authorities..."

Xelania was shocked even more than they were before. They knew their step-mother was an alcoholic... but this?

"That's her!!!" Xelania scrambled to grab their phone and take a photo before the screen changed. After hurriedly running back, they'd barely made it, but they got the picture they needed. But just before they sent it to their father... PA-CHING!! Xelania almost dropped their phone in a panic. It was Felae who'd startled them.

"Hey, are you alright? Is everything okay?"

Xelania replied, "Yeah, I'm even better than I could ever be!!!"

"Oh? That's great! What happened??? :P"

Xelania sent the picture in response. It was silent for about two minutes, before they started to worry. "Hello..?" Xelania typed. There was no response. Xelania worried that Felae was angry at them, but she couldn't be... right?
