Chapter 1
“Noble your going to be okay, don’t die”. I heard a crying voice saying. Closing my eyes I fell into a deep sleep.
When I woke up again, I knew I wasn’t in heaven, because in front of me was a floating book with arms and legs. “Hello I’m the warden here”. It said. I looked down to see if my body was still there, yep still there. “You know I’m under a curse right, why am I here”. I said. The book sat down on a table that appeared. “We have been hearing complaints about you and they demand that your punished”. It said, with some pity in it’s voice. “Is it because I’m a demon, you know all I do is help people”. I said feeling a little sad. “They said they’ll let you go if you complete some missions”. The book said, handing me a letter. I opened it up
[Dear Demon, you been hanging around us for way too long and we decided to test you, now that you died we sent a system to bind with your soul and take you on many missions in different worlds. Everytime you complete one, we’ll will think about letting you leave. That’s it for now, From the humans]
Closing the letter up I gave it back to the talking book. “The humans don’t know what I did, do they, fine what’s the first mission”. I said. “A few things before I send you off”. The book said, I looked up, “What”. I said, suddenly some animals appeared in front of me. “First I want to apologize by letting you take a animal for comfort and second my name is Flip”. The book named Flip said. Looking at the animals, I saw a tiger, eagle, fox, and swan. I pointed to the fox. “I chose her”. I said, the fox ran towards me rubbing my leg. “Okay, wish you luck”. Flip said, creating a portal. “Why”. I replied. “Because you have to complete the mission with your original body, bye”. Flip answered. Before I could ask I got dizzy then everything went white.
When the lights faded, I saw that I was in a dumpster. “Come on Flip why a dumpster”. I said, using my claws I grabbed hold on the edge of the dumpster. “Flip’s not here”. A cold voice said. Almost falling back in the dumpster, I saw a ball with bat wings flying right in front of me. “Who are you”. I said, now finally out the dumpster, I dusted myself off and looked around, “And where are we”. I added. The ball landed on my shoulder. “You can call me Red, and you are in a mafia novel”. The ball called Red said. “But why was I in dumpster in a back alley”. I said. “you do know you’re not full human”. Red said. “I know, and using that to my advantage I’ll live here”. I said, not waiting for Red to say anything, I started cleaning the alley. Red jumped off my shoulder. “Sometimes I think you’re strange”. The ball said, I paused for a moment. “Why”. I asked, “First you’re not angry that the humans made your life miserable and second you even seem happy”. Red answered, I laughed, “The humans didn’t know me and my family protected them, and not being bound to a everlasting loop I’m happy”. I said, now finished with the alley I sat down on some trash bags. “I don’t know anything to do with a everlasting loop”. Red said, not really listening I slowly fell asleep.
When I woke up I saw my purse and a dress with a robe packed up beside me. “What’s this”. I said, Red came flying out of nowhere. “You have to complete a mission remember”. It said. Getting up I picked up the clothes and put them on. “Your not embarrassed that someone will see you”. Red said, I didn’t say anything until I finish putting on my clothes. “I have excellent hearing, so even if I’m blind I can still know if you were walking by”. I said, after covering myself with the robe I walked out the alley and saw that it was dawn. “Hey Red what am I supposed to do”. I said, as I went to sit down on a bench I saw. Red sat on my shoulder again. “The first task is to find the ML, then make him angry at you”. It said. I watched the cars fly by, after hearing what Red said, my necklace glowed and a screen appeared with two different colored dots on it. Red pointed one of it’s wings to a blue dot that was moving, “That is your target, he should pass by in 10 minutes”. Red said, then pointed to the pink dot. “And that’s you”. It added. “Ok, so since we have 10 minutes why don’t you explain what the novel is about”. I said tucking my legs under me. Seeing that I wouldn’t move until it told me, Red started speaking, “First the story is called ‘I have a Mafia Boyfriend’ and it’s about the FL meeting the ML when a enemy of the ML tried to shoot the ML but FL got in the way and was shot instead, skip, skip, skip, they fall in love, defect big boss and live happily ever after”. It said, not bothering with the middle of the story. Wondering what the skip, skip, skip meaned, Red suddenly jumped up. “He’s coming hurry up”. It said. Looking up the road I saw a minivan coming this way. “Can I flip their car”. I asked walking in the road, without waiting for Red’s answer. I ran towards the side of the van and flipped it on the sidewalk. “Ahhh, did you kill them”. Red said as it flew in my direction. Looking in the van I saw movement, “see now let’s go find some food”. I said, after Red took a look at the van it flew after me. “Hey, are you sure the humans didn’t see you”. It said as I started looking for something to eat . “No, only the people inside the van saw me, why don’t you take a look at the bar and see”. I said.
Meanwhile in the overturned van.
Third POV
10 minutes ago. Night was driving with his friend, Skip. “What are you going to do with that girl”. Skip said, while watching the road. Night just leaned back in his chair, “We’ll just see if she’s useful or not”. He said. When Skip was about to reply, something banged against the van and Skip found himself on Night, “Get off me now”. Night said, pushing Skip’s legs off his face, looking out the window, Night saw a something moving away from their van. After climbing out the van Night looked around. “Hey do you think it’s that thing I saw that flipped the van”. Night said, not hearing Skip answering, Night looked down the walkway and saw him looking across the street at a cafe. Walking closer he also turned looked where Skip staring. “What are you looking at”. Night said, Skip handed him a letter, “It seems someone wants us to hate them”. He said. Opening the letter Night read it

After Night read the letter he put it in his pocket. “What do you think the Dark Wolf will do”. Night said, Skip pointed to a person with a black robe, eating some noodles. “That’s probably Dark Wolf, but why is he just eating”. He said, Night glanced towards where Skip was pointing then turned back to their van, which was now surrounded by people. “Will deal with him later, just help me with the van”. Night said.
Noble’s POV
As I was eating a pizza with the money Red gave me, Red was flapping around and nagging me. “You know that didn’t do anything, he probably thinks you’re just another enemy to destroy”. It said. I listened to Red halfheartedly. “I haven’t really made someone hate me before, so be gentle”. I said, grabbing another slice of pizza. Red sat on the table and looked on his screen. Taking a closer look I saw books on ‘how to be bad’. “You may not know this but I can’t talk bad about people”. I said, taking a big bite of my pizza. “It’s not fair, how come I don’t know much about you, while other systems know all about their hosts”. Red said. Patting Red I took another slice of pizza and gave it to it. “How about a deal”. I said. “What kind of deal”. Red said, eating from my hand. “Every mission we complete you give the humans a good review and I tell you about my pass, also I want what you are”. I said, Red didn’t answer until it finished eating. “Fine deal, and I’m just a spiritual system, genderless by the way so you can call me she or he if you want to”. He said. Finished with the pizza I threw the box in the trash and walked back to my alley. “How about you tell me about this ML”. I said. Sitting on my homemade bed of trash bags. Red gave me a file.
