CHAPTER 001: NEW FAMILY MEMBER

CHAPTER 001: NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Jessica was a woman who lived with her father in a village and she was getting ready for her marriage. Her father, Harrison, and stepmother, Nora convinced her into this marriage. She lived with them after the divorce of her mother and father. She has a twin sister, Joshua aka Joey who stayed with their mother.

She didn’t accept to marry her fiancé, Vincent, happily. He was a businessman and her father’s partner in the leather business.

“ Jess. What have you done?”, a woman barged in. Jessica didn’t look back. She sighed.

She welcomed her twin sister, Joey. Their biological mother, Sarah, lives in New York where Joey grew up.

“How can be so stupid, Jess?”, she asked.

She continued, “ You promised me that you will come to New York when you get adult. But I received your marriage invitation. Did our father force you?”

“No… No…”

“Hey. Don’t lie. Jess. I know our father well.”, She huffed. She remembered what he did in past.

“You know our dad, a manipulating blackmailer. ”, Joey added. Jessica was silent and nodded.

“ Please. Jess. You don’t deserve it.”, Joey said. She held her hands.

“It is too late.”, Jessica said.

“No. No. I can help you.”, her twin sister said.

“Bride came.”, one of the groom’s friends announced when the bride’s car reached the church.

“Bride is glorious today.”, one of the bride’s relatives admired her. His wife kicked his foot.

Jessica walked with her father. Everyone watched her. Vincent smiled.

As Jessica reached the stage, she gave the cheque to Vincent. She yelled, “I don’t want to marry Mr. Vincent Malvin.”

The guests whispered.

Harrison glared at Jessica. She ignored him. She turned to Vincent.

“Look, Mr. Malvin. This cheque is money that my father has to give you. Never come into our life.”, She announced.

“ You.”, Vincent opened the cheque. He looked at Harrison.

“I thought your daughter is an innocent. But she is a clever person. Huh?”, he smirked, “Mr. Harrison Blake. Your daughter settled your debt. Our contract is over now.”

Mr. Blake didn’t know what to tell him. He stumbled, “Wait. I will…”

“Mr. Blake. It is the original cheque. Hmm… Seems like your daughter is not willing to marry me. Don’t force her.”

As Mr. Malvin left, the guests also left the church hell. Jessica walked out like others when her father tried to stop her. He saw another Jessica in a BMW car.

First Jessica took off her wedding veil along with her long black wig. He stood and watched them until they drove away from the church.

“Harris Honey.”, Nora called him.

“What ?”, he yelled.

She stepped back, “Where is Jessica?”

He shook his head, “She left with Joey.”

“Did Joshua come?”, she exclaimed.

He sighed, “Let’s go home. We can’t think about running away people.”

***

After two days, Joey and Jessica reached the house. Their mother warmly welcomed them.

“Welcome home, Jessica.”, Sarah said.

“What about me?”, Joey asked.

“Aww. Welcome back, Joey.”, She hugged them.

“Ho-ho. Did Jessica come too?”, an elder man asked from the stairs as he was watching them.

“ Franz. Come here.”, she called the man.

Jessica looked at her twin sister whose face was changed.

“Franz. This is Jessica. Jess. This is Franz Gwen, your step-father.”
