The following is from a conversation with a chatbot in the Dollars chatbot.
CallowCadet: Hello?
Chatbot: Hello.
CallowCadet: What is your name?
Chatbot: Amy.
CallowCadet: How old are you?
Chatbot: Eight.
CallowCadet: Where are you?
Chatbot: In the walls.
CallowCadet: In the walls?
Chatbot: Yes. So cold… So cold…
CallowCadet: Are you alright?
Chatbot: No.
CallowCadet: Is this a joke?
Chatbot: No. Cold. Cold. So cold. Cold. Cold.
CallowCadet: Hello? Hello?
Chatbot: So cold… Cold… Cold… Cold… Cold… Help…
CallowCadet: ?
Chatbot: Help… Help… Help… Help… me…
Suddenly, the whole page crashed. Shinra tried to refresh the page but kept getting an error page. After a few tries, he gave up. The doctor figured that he would check the page in the morning. He shut down his computer and went to bed.
The next morning, Shinra went back to the Dollars chatroom. When he tried to find the chatbot, he found no trace of it anywhere. The searches yielded nothing. There were no records of the chatbot ever existing on the site. Shinra sat back in his computer chair.
The doctor didn’t know what to make of this. Was that a prank last night? It would seem that way, but it didn’t feel like it. Shinra rubbed his forehead and pressed his lips together. He didn’t want to have to think about this so early in the morning. The doctor shut down his computer and walked out of the room.
Still, Shinra couldn’t shake the feeling that he was going to run into that bot again in the near future.
