One to Watch

"As with the Hitler interviews (also on Inkitt), I found this a disturbing and compelling read so far. There is an old distinction between plot-driven and character-driven novels; but given the intriguing insights provided by the third-party narrator, it is tempting to call this an 'idea-driven' novel. It might be said that there is nothing new under the sun when it comes to such novel premises as this, but a potentially stale and shopworn trope does take on new life here. Old wineskins are fine, as long as the sparkle is sufficiently fresh! My attention wanders when reading online, and my general policy for Inkitt reviews is to skim, and to dip in and out a bit; but I would love to sit down and go through the whole novel on paper one day. It is clear to see that this novel deserves a proper long read for pleasure. Byron certainly seems bad and dangerous to know; but is he 'mad?' On the contrary, he may well be an evil genius. It will be exciting to see what comes next. No tedious comparisons with Sinclair Lewis are necessary here; so far, the novel seems bursting with originality and creativity. Excellent work!"
