Jenna Park has had a crush on her best friend, Daniel, for as long as she can remember. His kindness and actions towards her has helped Jenna deal with and persevere through her own personal problems and issues over the years. Nowadays, things have changed. Daniel is still the guy who has kindness and encouragement injected in his veins—the only difference is that he's hanging out with new people. Because of this, Jenna feels more like an outsider seeing everything happen in front of her than blending in with the crowd and her surroundings. One day, Daniel shows up at Jenna's place asking her to do the following: To teach him how to surf so he can enter and win the surfing competition. Jenna agrees to help Daniel out with surfing and making sure he wins the competition. For Jenna, she sees this as an opportunity to get closer to Daniel. The only problem getting in her way is the fear of waves she's had ever since she was young. Things will not be easy, especially when she only has eighteen days to teach him how to surf.
The following is an excerpt for my work, Eighteen Days. The story, compared to my other ones, contain a new writing style that I have developed within the last year.
