Story One
Staring into his eyes, a beautiful emerald green with specks of gold, I see an emotion that I’m familiar with, but one that I don’t know if I want to decipher. Reaching his hand up he cups my cheek and I lean into it. A small smile makes its way onto his face. “You truly are beautiful,” he whispers, not meaning for me to hear. I take a deep breath to calm my racing heart. With a smile on my own face I say “You are beautiful too.” Raising one eyebrow he takes his hand off my cheek and teases, “Beautiful? I think that you mean extremely handsome.” Laughing lightly, I lean in and kiss him to convey how I feel without using words. He returns the kiss with the same passion. Taking a step back he steadies himself, grabs his bags that were laying by our feet, and meets my eyes. “I’ll be back as soon as I can, I-” I interrupt him “I know, me too.” With that he turns and walks towards the plane. With tears in my eyes I think to myself that I’ll see him when he gets back and that he will be just fine.
