Introduction
TRUMPTY DUMPTY features a series of columns I wrote on Huffington Post about the dangers of a Trump Presidency not only to the U.S. but to the world.
To begin the series, I wondered why Trump was not attacking the cartoonists and writers who were writing critical articles about him, although he has attacked the media as a whole as the lowest form of humanity and journalists as horrible, disgusting, and dishonest human beings. He has even banned major media publications and networks from getting credentials to cover his events. But he has not gone after a particular individual or filed any lawsuits. Why not?
Then, I began asking if Trump was nuts or mentally deranged, comparing him to animals fighting for power and territory and to nuts (literally), citing the cartoon books I had written: Trump Is Nuts!, Trump Is an Animal!, and Who Is Trump, Really?, with satiric cartoons by illustrator Nick Alexander.
The last column in the series reflects my reaction to the naked Trump statues that appeared in 5 U.S. cities – New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Cleveland. Not only was Trump depicted as an overweight, out of shape, paunchy, flabby man to be laughed at and humiliated, much like he made fun of and insulted others, but this status also seemed to be a metaphor for revealing who Trump really was, if only others could see this. He was in effect presented as the “Emperor with No Clothes,” which is the same fairy tale that led me to begin commenting on Trump back in February 2016. These comments eventually led to my first book in the series of Trump books: 2016 Election Fairy Tales, when Trump was still fighting off 16 other candidates in the Republican primaries. Yet many of these tales are still relevant, such as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, as Hillary battles against the Big Bad Trump.
Thus, since I started with a commentary on a naked Trump with no clothes, it seems only fitting to end this series with my comments in response to the naked Trump statues.
Now, if only these comments can contribute to the election results and preserving American democracy from Trump and hisradical right and angry white men minions.
