Chapter 1
“Letters are either sent by Crows, Owls, or by hand. Either way, you still send it by someone or something, right? Because if you don’t, then how would it get there? But I send thee a message, through a magical bubble, that I was so created with a special potioned bubble. I apologize if I haven’t sent you a reply, but I just wanted to let you know that-”
“He’s in here,” A guard said walking up to the wizard’s door.
The wizard gasped in surprise and quickly packed his remaining things in a small leather bag, trapped the bubble in a special box, and jumped out the opened window, fleeing into the sunny afternoon day. The Guard pounded roughly on the wizards’ door, but when no one answered the door, he ordered his fellow team to break the door down, only to find … an empty room. The royal guard growled in rage and looked out the window.
“Find him. The King wants him dead or alive,” The Guard told them.
“Yes, sir!” His team answered.
Running down the spiral stairs of the tower, they met the king at the bottom.
“Where’s the foolish cat?” The King asked angrily.
“He managed to escape, your highness. I dearly apologize,” the guard said bowing.
“It’s alright, Sir Mason. Just … bring him to me dead or alive. Do you understand? Though, I’d probably want him alive to punish him overall for what he did,” The King reassured his trustworthy guard.
“You have my word,” Sir Mason answered.
“Good,” The King answered.
Once the king left, Sir Mason ordered his group to get the horses ready for their leave. They nodded, and left for the stables. Sir Mason left behind them, after making sure that no one was looking. Disappearing down the hallway, Princess Crystal curiously peaked to make sure that her father and Sir Mason had officially left. When she noticed that there really wasn’t anyone around but her, she quickly went up the tower and into the room of what once was the wizards’ workshop. The only items standing were the large empty cauldron and a large empty bookshelf. She looked out the opened window.
“Why did you have to leave?” Princess Crystal asked.
When the Princess walked back down, she quietly closed the door to the tower and went to find her parents. But when she reached the parent’s room she heard them whispering something to one another. She tried to overhear their conversation, when her brother dropped in.
“What are you doing?” Prince Silver asked.
Princess Crystal jumped and turned to look at her brother.
“What do you mean? I … I’m not doing anything,” Crystal answered.
But when Crystal noticed her older brother’s gentle blue eyes turn sharp and cold, she gave up and nodded.
“Fine, I am listening to our parent’s conversation, but I’m also curious on why they want the royal magician,” She replied.
“Where is he?” Prince Silver asked.
“Who?” Crystal asked for clearance.
Silver sighed.
“The magician,” Silver told her.
“Ooh. He ran away. Fled out the window and disappeared, leaving no trace behind,” Crystal answered.
Steve nodded and helped him walk towards the door. Cloris knocked on the door gently, to not startle anyone. When they heard footsteps approaching the door, they took a step back. As the door slowly creaked open, and there was a short female gasp. The door swung open, and a snow-white cat ran up to Cloris and hugged him. Cloris grunted in both pain and happiness.
“Cloris, you’re alright?! I was beginning to think that something bad happened to you when your bubble messages stopped coming. The bubble ended in such a short message, and you didn’t even finish it!” Winter Wisp said sobbing,
“I’m sorry, sis. I didn’t mean to worry you. There was an accident which held me from my due date, and my friend Prince Steven, here, helped get to you and mother safely,” Cloris answered sluggish in a weak tone.
Winter Wisp looked up at the charming fox prince and thanked him. Steve nodded in approval, before Winter turned to her brother once more.
“What happened to you?” Winter asked, tears still rolling down her face,
“He got hit, and I think blood is seaping through the bandages,” Steve told her, since Cloris refused to answer.
“What?!” Winter shouted stunned.
“Please, don’t tell mother. She is far too weak to know about this. I beg of you, sister. Please,” Cloris pleaded.
Winter sniffled and sighed.
“Very well, let’s get you inside,” Winter said softly.
Before she entered, she turned to look at the prince, and asked him to enter. Leaving his horse loose from the reins, he walked into the small cottage, and closed the door behind him. When he entered the house he was stunned to see how big it actually was in the inside.
“Please, take a seat anywhere, while I take my stubborn brother to his bedroom,” Winter told him.
“Thank you, miss,” The Prince said, gratefully.
“What’s wrong?” Crystal asked.
“Nothing,” Silver answered, turning and walking away.
Crystal shook her head and entered her parent’s bedroom to ask a question of clarification.
