Chapter 1

Lexi Alordia POV.

Funny, it's funny right? When everything was going so well at work. I got a promotion to be the new assistant chef, my mother's health was improving tremendously she was able to talk, move around and eat her meals without help.

I was so excited to get her home the following day. I knew it was the two of us me and her, her and me against the world.

But the universe decided to play a cruel trick on me, by taking her away In the wee hours of the morning in her hospital bed.

The doctors called to tell me that the mini stroke she suffered from had caused a major heartattack they tried everything to resuscitate her but it was too late. So I had to deal with it alone.

It brought me back to when my dad died when I was twelve, barring him was the hardest thing, it tore me inside out. I didn't want to cry No not there not in front of the my parent's s family and friends who came to wish there condolences, so I decided to stare at my mother's black stiletto which I wondered how she managed to walk properly in them in the graveyard.

She noticed and knelt in front of me giving me her beautiful tight smile I looked at her really looked at her, her amazing jet-black hair that she loved tieing it up into a bun at that moment her hair was flowing aimlessly into the wind like the raven in the sky, and I knew at that time i liked it it suited her beautiful heart shaped face with her olive skin.

Her big brown eyes were sparkling with unshaded tears I knowing she was trying so hard not to cry for my sake, I held her hand.

"Lexy when people die they go to a whole new world a beautiful one that makes them happy cause the sun never sets in paradise you love summer right?"

I knodded.

"Now imagine how it's always summer there with palm trees, coconut drinks and people there go to the beach"

Giggling.

"Daddy doesn't know how to swim".

Cassandra my mother gave me a tight smile.

"love, you know what? now he does"

A single tear betrayed her perfect composure and fell down her flushed rosy cheeks which she wiped hurriedly, and held my shoulders with a firm grip.

Every fiber in my being knew at that exact moment what she had to say next was tremendously important, so I did the sensible thing.

I listened.

"Anything could happen to me too Lex it could be today tomorrow or the next day who knows?"

No no no!

I didn't want to lose her too but my stupid tears wouldn't stop falling.

"I know paradise is good mama, I know that but mom what about me what will happen to me if your gone to daddy?".

I had to fight the arge to weep picturing the horrible ways it would turn out.

Cassandra squeezed my shoulders gently to grab my attention wiping my tears away she continued.

"Hey i want you to be strong you come from a strong lineage of strong women we never give up, never cry in public, and we do not show weakness to anyone remember that. Because you are Alordia woman it is in your blood".

Coming out of my lucid dream I met a pretty face smiling warmly down at me.

“Miss please wake up we have arrived to your destination” the flight attendant informed.

Thanking her, I took my bag and checked the time on my phone clicking on Ron's massage was a picture of him, the cats and Sage my dog at the pack getting bird feeds.

grinning I replied that I arrived safely.

Ron was an old man who lived in a house down the street in Sedona, Arizona. He lived with three of his cats but Pixie was my favorite she was a cute white furred little thing that loved attention that Sage my dog saw as competition.

laughing.

I suddenly felt nostalgic knowing I left apart of myself behind my home, my dog my life but I had to. I had to prove to myself that I needed this after all my mom would want this for me.

Taking a deep breath I took my first step into a fresh start.

Matia Genchi POV.

“Damn it!, who fucking did the Risotto?” I yelled while walking into the kitchen.

Throwing the plate of rice across the room, they all coward, and I loved it the power I emitted, the fear in there eyes, the knowledge that I could take away there handsome paying jobs by a click of my fingers.

The sight was delightful, I had no words to explain it but I couldn't ravish in it far too long, had more pressing matters to solve in my office and also this freaking mess in hand to deal with.

The head of waiters Michelle walked in to inform me that the guest was a woman in her thirties, who was heavily pregnant. He said she'll write a report for the bad experience she had in the restaurant.

Smirking I took a step towards them they I knew I fucking hate mistakes.

And this one was the hit the score. I would rather the food take long to prepare than an undercooked or not close to perfection dish. That's why the customers pay loads of money to dine in my establishment.

They pay for distinction, I don't fail to serve that its Italy anyways we give just that and much much more.

“Sir i_i_iit wa_s me_me, am so_oo sooryy_sorry”

Taking calculative steps towards him I dropped the tone of my voice to a whisper

“You should have thought about that earlier before going ahead and plating an uncooked dish for a pregnant woman to eat you had put her In risk of losing her child”

Having nothing left to say to him I read his name tag.

“Jeffrey right?”

He nodded hurriedly.

“Get the fuck off of my kitchen, hand over your resignation letter to your supervisor and the copy to the Human resource office your dismissed”.

Clearing out I headed to my office and tried to calm my nerves, taking a glass from the top shelf I poured myself a glass of exquisite old fashioned whiskey.

Savoring the burning bitter taste i realized that i needed to blow off some steam tonight. Brianna will do just fine her beautiful curves are just what I wanted with her full pounty lips taking me all in.

yes she will do just fine.

Draining the glass I went back to work checking the stokes if everything is accounted for, getting the financial and operation report from the accountant and the human resource office. By time I was done I was exhausted. I needed to inform my father about the business going smoothly and the little show that occurred which I was already sure he was well informed.

“How was it?” Brianna asked while pressing her tiny frame close to my side.

“ I loved every second of it” I cooed.

I knew that I was going to hell for lying don't get me wrong the sex was great but the she's too emotionally involved with this fling we have but her beauty makes up for it.

“Babe we should get married right we love each other what do we have to loose?”

Shit not this again!

Phone started ringing.

Oh Thank heavens!

Picking up.

“Matia I was informed that the restaurant in Italy is running just fine that's good my boy but I need your presence in United Kingdom. I feel like it's time I come back to Italy the busy life is not for me anymore”

Roberto chucked through the phone.

While growing up. My father was one of the best chef I have ever known and also the most ruthless I guess that's what happens when you separate your work life with personal life.

He would come home late or at times the following day but he tried to.

Things got worse when he ventured in starting his own business he was rarely home I had to grow up and be the man of the house, for my mother and my little brothers but I really never blamed him for that he did it for us.

“Sure, I'll book a flight then”

“Thank you son I'll let Martin walk you through your tour of the establishment”

“Agreed”
