Chapter 1

All day I waited. All fucking day. I waited for this man to come home from work and his football draft. I tried to keep the house tidied up as best I could while writing today. It’s not easy. It’s especially not easy for a mom during the summer. You want your kids playing outside, rather than on the ipads in front of the tv. But, I know, when he comes home and something is out of place, it’s my fault. He isn’t mean about it, he would never be. He’s disappointed. They’re only five and three years old, they can’t play outside alone yet. I trust Harley, I don’t trust the outside. I have a huge fear of something happening to my girls before I can save them. I think of every situation even when I just run in to use the bathroom. What if they fall off the swing and bang their head against the grass? What if they end up brain dead because I, their fucking mother, left them outside to selfishly use the bathroom instead of holding it.

Biva: Quite good for a novella. Impressive writing style and we'll edited. Just one thing- Karla keeps referring herself to a stray cat and while at first it makes sense the analogy gets stale after a while.

Sarah: Not a totally original plot but well handled. I think Lucas would have been much more persistent possibly demanding legal access to his son.

Gallandro7: Theoretically this is a trilogy, but this was a perfect solo story. I truly wish it had ended before it became too much. That's a personal opinion. The first book was amazing. It covered a familiar trope among shifter stories, but had just enough of a difference to it to make it unique. The FMC was m...
