Knock knock
I knocked at her bedroom door only to meet with silence.
"Dian, I'm coming in."
Getting inside I meet with the sight of her body curled up in the corner of the bed.
She was sobbing. My baby girl was sobbing so hard.
Sitting at the edge of her bed I stare at her shaking figure
"Cry it out Moon, mommy is here. Talk to me if you want," I said caressing her hair.
She turned my way with red eyes and a flushed face.
"Is first love supposed to hurt this much mommy?" She asked.
"First love always hurts. Sometimes this much and sometimes way more than just this much."
"I hate him. I wish I never met him in the first place!" Hugging my body she cried harder.
"I want to forget about him, mommy. Take my heart away from him so he can't break it anymore."
Dian has always been mature for her age, I still question how we gave birth to this gem. Chris and I have always been proud of her and the decisions she makes.
Speaking of Chris, he's so going to break the boy's legs who made our Moon cry.
"Fuck him, I'm going to break his bones before he can go on another date with that bitch." She said while getting out of my embrace, wiping her tears.
"Dian Enrica Russo language!" I did shout but yet I was failing to contain my laughter.
Oh, she is our daughter.
"I am not letting him take my heart! Never!"
"They break your heart and take a piece of it with them. It stays with them forever. That's what first loves do." I said making her sit down.
"Did you forgive him?"
"Forgive whom?"
"Your first love. Did you forgive him?" The 17-year-old asked with curious eyes.
"Not back then but eventually I did. We weren't young like you but then again we weren't old either."
Stroking her hands I noticed the scar she got when she fell off the bicycle.
"Did he cheat? Or did he just leave? You met him again right?"
"He-" the ringing of her phone interrupted me.
"Oh, it's dad!" She said wiping away the remaining tears.
"Mommy, he didn't get you on phone so he called me instead. Here." She handed me the phone and gestured for me to not tell Chris what happened.
"Hey, honey did something happen to Moon?" Of course, he can read everyone like an open book.
"I was telling her some childhood tales. She got a bit teary." I said, winking at Moon
"Oh okay. I thought- leave it. Today we have to attend a charity dinner. You and Moon should come with me." I could hear the turning of papers. Typical workaholic Christian Russo.
"We will be ready. By seven?"
"Yes, ma'am you got that right. I love you honey bye." sweet.
"I love you too. And wear the midnight blue bow tie." I disconnected the call and gave Moon her phone back.
"Be ready by seven princess, you know how dad gets when we get late. I will let the maids bring your dress" I said getting up and kissing her forehead.
"Mommy." She called behind me.
Turning around I stand by her bedroom room.
"Next time we have to finish our conversation. I love dad but his timing sucks" she says rolling her eyes.
"I will Moon. Now go wash up quick!"
