The Magic
The family remained silent after that. There was no joy, and no laughter could be heard. The family sat in their garden that night, wondering about Rebecca. Regina and Rexy were heartbroken at the loss of their sister, and memories of the three of them playing flashed back to them. They remembered how much fun they had playing hide & seek and cooking a big lunch together every Saturday. Regina’s tears poured down her cheeks as she thought all of this; eventually, she wept angrily and kicked a stone near her in frustration. Soon it was bedtime, and Regina was half-asleep when she heard a voice say, “what will I do now that I am out of ideas?” Regina awoke frightened after hearing this voice. “Who’s there?” “Come out and show yourself,” Regina said, trembling with horror. Nobody said anything. The room was quiet. Regina thought to her, “I must be hallucinating it,” as she noticed no one in the room. “Woah, who’s there?” questioned the voice again. Regina crawled beneath her blanket, frightened, thinking, “Oh, how I wish Rebecca could be here right now, oh my, I am so scared.” “Um, Regina?” “Is that you?” said the voice once more. “I am Regina,” Regina said as she slowly emerged from under her blanket. “And who exactly are you?” “You won’t believe it, but I am Rebecca said that the voice
“Merlin’s beard!” I’m not pleased! “I want to see you come out of the dark right now,” Regina replied.
“Uhm, Regina, I’m not at home.” “I’m in a magical land.”
“What exactly is magical?” What is its location? And how am I hearing you?′
“Well, Regina, everything I say may sound unrealistic, but that’s how things work,” Rebecca explained. “First and foremost, I am not speaking, yet you can still hear me talking because I am thinking.” So you can hear what I’m thinking, and I can hear what you’re thinking. So you realise you’ve been thinking instead of talking the whole time.” “Wow,” Regina thought, “but why am I the only one who hears it?”
“Because you kicked the magical stone in anger or sadness,” Rebecca explained. “So here’s how it works- There’s a magical stone in our yard that, when kicked in an angry or sad mood, gives you a particular power and transforms you into a mystery solver. So, the mystery begins in two days, and you must solve it. There are three levels to the mystery. The important factor is that you must pass level 2 within three days.
“So.... I have a special power?” Regina inquired. “Yes.” Rebecca stated”So, where are you now?”
“Right now, I’m in a magical land.” And I must warn you, Regina, that this is a two-person task. I attempted to solve the problem on my own and look what happened to me.
And I nearly forgot to mention that you must select a character with a superpower to enable you in solving the mystery.”
“All clear, but who do I pick as my partner?” Regina inquired. “All good, then I’ll get him whipped up into a frenzy straight immediately.” Regina walked to the bathroom, filled a glass of water, and... SPLASH!!!! She splashed Rexy with water and fled for her life. Rexy awoke angry and began chasing Regina. Regina dashed to the garden, followed by Rexy, and told him, “Rexy, I want you to kick the stone over there towards me so it strikes me.”
“Wait, you’re giving me suggestions for making you cry?” Rexy kicked the stone towards Regina, who dodged it by sticking her tongue out, teasing Rexy.
“I know who!” Rexy may be your partner. Just have him kick the rock when he’s upset and remember just when he’s angry or sad, and we’ll be able to fill him up afterwards.” Rebecca answered
“Now, Rexy, there’s a reason I asked you to kick the stone,” she said. “Count to ten and a voice will speak to you from within.”
“That’s not possible!” But I’m going to do it anyway. 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10!...... “I did hear a voice within me.” And Rexy quickly realised it was Rebecca. Rebecca and Regina told him the entire story. Then Rexy exclaimed, “Level 1 here we come.”
