The Happiest With You

"Hey Mia, are you just about done?" Ayla yells at me from our kitchen. "Relax Ay, just finishing up" I say as I dab on the last of my lip gloss. I quickly turn and check my ass out in the mirror. Flawless, if I do say so myself. I turn back towards Ayla just in time to catch the end of her eye roll.

"Lets go" she says to me impatiently as she opens our front door.

Tonight I am meeting her new boyfriend West. The man that has been making my best friend scream through our paper thin walls for the last couple of weeks. I haven't seen him yet but Ayla says he is tall and handsome. He is a policing student that she met at the end of the year party.

I grab my heels and follow Ayla out to the cab. I hop in right behind Ayla and the cute cab driver turns around to ask where we're headed. He smirks at me and I smirk right back. He turns his attention to Ayla as she gives the address.

"What do I need to know Ay?" I say to her.

"You know about West and you will likely meet his room mates Dom and Ben" she starts, "Dom is quiet and massive but he is a nice guy" I nod my head listening, "Then there is Ben. Ben is a massive player, he is incredibly charming but he's a whore." I can't help the laugh that escapes me.

We pull up to the step and Ayla turns to me, "Don't interogate him" she says sternly, "No promises Ay."

The cab door opens and standing there is a tall, muscular, dark haired man. Ayla jumps out of the cab and into his arms. I've never seen Ayla like this, shes had flings over the years but never got attached to anyone. She had bigger priorities and goals. Men were never on her list. We've known each other since kindergarten, and we are more sisters than friends. She grew up with a terrible mother so she spent alot of her time at my house growing up.

I step out of the cab, Ayla and West are in their own little world. I clear my throat startling them. Ayla quickly turns to me with pink cheeks. Again, so not Ayla.

"Mia, this is West. West this is Mia" she says gesturing between us for good measure. West steps towards me with his hand out, holy fuck this man is tall and built.

"Mia it's a pleasure to meet you, I've heard alot about you." Being the sarcastic bitch I am I couldn't help myself, "West, I've heard so much about you too, mostly through the walls."

"Jesus Mia," Ayla turns so quick her dark hair smacks me in the face. If looks could kill, I would be dead.

I let out a little giggle and head to the door, from behind me I hear West mumble, "Charming."

"I'm so sorry about her," Ayla says quickly, and loudly enough for me to hear.

West opens the door for us and I'm immediately surprised by how clean it is. Especially with three men living here. I turn around to take my heels off and bump directly into a wall. No. Not a wall. A man. I bumped into a literal wall of muscle. I look up, and then up some more. This massive man is staring back at me with the smallest bit of a smirk on his face.

"Dom, what have I told you about scaring the pretty ladies," a voice from upstairs says. I turn to find the voice and at the top of the stairs is a god of a man. He has short brown hair, bright green eyes and a panty melting smile. I smile right back at him.

"Don't worry I can handle him just fine," I say confidently while staring down the man at the top of the stairs. The wall of muscle, Dom, grunts and moves by me taking his place on the couch. My eyes still firmly on the panty melter as he makes his way casually down the stairs

Suddenly I feel a sharp sting, "Shit, ouch!" I screech as I rub the back of my arm. Imagine my displeasure when I come face to face with a pissed off Ayla staring daggers at me.

"Did you just pinch me?" I whisper/yell at her. "Off limits, the last thing I need is you two fucking and making things weird." She says firmly as she raises a finger at the man, "Absolutely not, Ben" she scolds.

"Aww Ay, you're no fun," Ben whines with a pout. I have no intention of sleeping with either of these men. West is important to Ayla and I would never mess this up for her over some dick, no matter how handsome the men they are attcahed to are.

"I bet you're lots of fun though," Ben winks at me. That's when I hear the loud smack. "Cut it out Ben," West says gruffly while Ben rubs the back of his head. West puts his arm around Ayla pulling her in closer to him.

"Ahem." We all look to the top of the stairs, there is a girl standing there looking unclmfortable. I look at Ayla and West, who both look unsurprised. Is there another room mate I didn't know about?

"Come on lets get a drink while Ben deals with that," she says guiding me into the kitchen. I follow her but hear Ben behind me saying good bye to his conquest. She wasn't kidding this man is a whore.

I sit down and take my drink as Ben saunters into the kitchen taking the barstool next to me. "It's nice to meet you Mia" he says with that signature shit eating grin. I roll my eyes at him. This man is flirting with me while the girl is barely out of the house.

"Yes, a real delight Ben" I say sarcastically.

"Ouch, Mia! You wound me!" He says faking shock, his hand shooting up to his chest.

I look at Ayla who looks exhausted by his shit already. Me too, girl. West is unphased, all of his attention is focused on Ayla.

"You better go catch the girl that just left, maybe she can kiss it better?" I say with a sickeningly sweet smile. Without missing a beat he locks eyes with me and says, "Or you could just do it, since you're right here."

The balls on this man.

I go to take a sip of my drink, casting him a glance over the rim of my glass. "Not if you were the last man on Earth, Ben." I take a long sip. He smirks at me, raises his drink and exits the kitchen.

I let out a big breath I didn't know I was holding. "Don't mind him, he's a whore and proud of it" West says.

"Charming" I say under my breath. Ayla and West must hear me because they share a look and then start grinning at each other.

Our night continues on, I spend time learning about West. He is solemn and stern but he loves Ayla, I can see it all over his face. Most importantly I can see it all over hers too. I go out of my way to avoid Ben. He screams trouble and as gorgeous as he is, I don't want any part of the trouble he brings.

It's getting late so I say goodbye to Ayla and West. Dom gives a small wave from the couch as I head to grab my shoes. Suddenly I feel lips against my neck, "It was an absolute pleasure, Mia" Ben purrs in my ear. And as quickly as he appeared, he disappeared up the stairs without another word.
