Unfortunate events
Gia rushed into the building. The take over had finally happened and she really hated to say she'd told them but she had and nobody had listened and now their jobs were on shaky ground. She glared as her phone beeped. It was Ally, her best friend and God knows she could use a good pep talk ahead of this meeting.
" Hey boo, what's up, thought you were in Hawaii for a photo shoot?"
Ally's sigh was both sad and pissed at the same time.
" Ok, what gives? Who's got your panties in a knot?"
" Gia, if I found out something that could hurt you, would you want to know or is ignorance bliss?"
"I'd want to know and you know this so quit stalling and start talking."
She felt all the blood lleach out of her body as Ally switched to video.
" I'm not seeing thingss, right? That's your fiance over there with that bimbo, right?"
Sure enough, there he was on Oahu's perfect beach cuddled up with a blonde in a bathing suit made of dental floss. She couldn't believe her own eyes. Was that really Jonathan? The man that had professed his love so openly not even two months ago?
" Do me a favor and walk us over there?"
Ally moved towards him her eyes glued to her best friend in the whole world.
"Hey dufus, I got one word for you...busted."
Gia watched as Jonathan went from shocked soeechless to resigned.
" Hello Gia, look I know it looks bad but its the end of a fling. I'm ending things for you...so I can commit to you completely..."
" Is that right? Well, guess what, don't do me any favors, just come collect your stuff when you get back. Goodbye Jonathan."
Kai Song watched the unfolding drama bewitched. He'd been watching the beauty since she entered the building. Saw when her joy turned to sadness and bitter regret as she eyed the phone determined.
" You don't mean that!"
' I do actually. Please just stop talking to me. Collect your stuff or I will burn them. Goodbye."
She hung up the phone and dropped heavily into the sofa inside the lobby of Peter Lee Media where she worked as a Ad executive. She closed her eyes, long wisps of red brown hair escaping her ponytail.
" Excuse me but you look like you need this," a decadent voice intoned from overhead.
She looked up into sexy coal black eyes that seemed to see inside her very soul. He was holding a medium cappuccino from her favorite coffee shop and for a moment, she was speechless.
" Um, thanks, you're probably right."
He smiled and Gia felt that smile to her toes. Who was this guy?
" Want to talk about it? I am a good listener."
" Thank you but no thanks for the therapy offer, many thanks for the coffee."
" The offer is a standing one, whenever you're ready. I'm Kai S .."
" Gia! The new CEO is here, let's go!"
With a smile tinged with sadness, she ran to the elevator and disappeared.
" Han! Find her"
