Crowe Legacy: Heat Rising

"I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of this book. First Missouri of the border war era, with the flash point of the question of slavery, was drawn very well. Next the decadence and lushness that is New Orleans is spun in a spellbinding manner. The characters are richly detailed and enjoyable. Lafayette and Thaddeus are so full of life. Jo is infuriating, Katharine gracious, and Eudora sweet. "

Crowe Legacy: Heat Rising

"This is a story of a family straddling the politics of the North and the South during the Missouri Border Wars as events lead up to the Civil War. The characters will captivate you as you experience their fears and frustration with a changing world. The plot is believable, the characters vivid, and the atmosphere beautifully depicted. An excellent beginning to what I hope is a lengthy saga."

Crow Legacy: Heat Rising

"I read this book and found it historically accurate in many details, which I value in any work of fiction to make it a believable story. It was well written and the language, style and feelings of this time were well woven into the work. I also enjoyed the story as a whole and, once started, couldn't stop reading on to the end."

"I loved this book. The characters are very well written and all have a depth to them with many facets. It takes you into their world and you share with them their passions, thrills, frustrations and fears living in the turmoil of Missouri and the border wars at the time. An excellent first book in what promises to be an epic family saga - with plenty of action - I certainly want more and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book "
