Chained to the mafia

Everyday went by just like it normally does. I had cleaned the rooms that belonged to the gang members, cooked, ran errands and some of them who needed someone to lay their anger on used me as a punching bag.

I remember the first time I stepped into into this building. I didn't think it was filled with gang members. I didn't know my brother and dad were going to leave me here. I had realised few weeks after , that I wasn't just left here but I was sold to this rival gang.

I'm Amelia Daniels. There isn't anything special about me. I've been told that so many times by family and by everyone I've ever came across. Perhaps because of my colour or because I killed my mum?

I'm dark skinned with charcoal black wavy hair that stops just above my waist. I've normal set of brown puffy eyes, a thin hourglass figure and I'm average in height. I've not really gotten the chance to check my height but I know I'm not as tall as the rest. Like I said nothing special about me.

Growing up I wasn't really given the chance to like or dislike anything, my dad and brother always said I was cursed. Here is the reason. My parents where each other's first love, at thier teenage age they decided they would have just one kid and when they got married things where okay they had Adrian two years after the marriage so they didn't want another child.

Things where okay they didn't have to bother about another child 'cause mum always had a nexplanon(contraceptive implant) every three years so everything was fine for a while.

As I was told my mum didn't ever forget to go for her new implants. After a year of the new implant she got pregnant, not just that but she was also diagnosed to have had thyroid cancer. I was told that my dad tried so many times to make her get an abortion but she didn't agree to it.

I was conceived very early and during the process mum died. I stayed in the hospital for 6 years because of my health issue plus my dad and brother hated me so much not to care, not just because of my mum but because of my colour. Apparently I'm the only dark skinned one in my family every other person is light skinned but my aunt said my fourth generation grandmother was als dark skinned.

So I was hospital schooled. The nurse who took care of me was exceptionally nice. She's like the mother I never had, she also took care of my mum before she died. She was always there during my asthma attacks.

When I turned 8 my dad took me away from people I grew to love. I was taken home, at that time Adrian was 18 and I was despised by people who where meant to be my everything. All the maids where fired because my dad said I had to pay back 8years of me wasting his money.

I cleaned the mansion everyday and washed the clothes and cooked. I was treated more like a slave than a daughter, at night I slept in the basement, when Adrian and dad would come back drunk at night they'd beat me up till I fainted or had an asthma attack

It went on for 6 years before they both decided I was of no use to them. So here I am now laying in a mat in the slave quarters thinking of what tomorrow would bring. Holding the only precious possession I've. My family locket.

No matter how much dad and Adrian hates me I'd always love them because I know mum would want that.
