Outremer

Outremer is the French name for the Holy Land, The Land Beyond the Sea. It is pronounced Ew-Tra-Mur. It was called this during the Crusades by the French who contributed the Lion’s share to the Crusader efforts. The Original 9 Knights Templar were all French... Franks as they were commonly known.

Secret Societies rarely if ever conceal their existence. The Secrets are always kept internal. This goes for the Knights Templar as well as all the Secret societies that have been tied to them. Knowing this and trying to write a book about them is very tough, and requires some logic and conjecture. I have been researching this for years and try to use as much fact as possible with the most logical conjecture to fill in the gaps.

Long before Dan Brown wrote The Davinci Code, I was studying and taking notes on The Knights Templar and I believe Brown got much of it wrong. Dan Brown used theory and conjecture based on very weak evidence and some conspiracy theorys to craft a fictional novel. That is fine but his story is way more fiction than fact. John Robinson wrote a book called Born in Blood about the lost secrets of the Freemasons. This book ties the Knights Templar to the Freemasons with fact, logic, and reason. Wonderful book with lots of facts, some conjecture and a wee bit of deduction... brimming with common sense. Born in Blood is my number one study as it connects the Knights Templar to all of these other groups and directly to the United States of America. The Author that really got me started on the Templars was an Italian named Umberto Echo. He wrote a book called Focault’s Pendulum. In this book he also wrote about many other Secret Societies including the Freemasons, Assassins, Illuminati, Cabalists, Cathars, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elders of Zion, Gnostics, Jesuits, Druze, Opus Dei and the Rosicrucians. Umberto even made up his own Fake Secret Society called Tres. Umberto believed that it is possible to link any fact or idea with any other, but that this creates a dangerous tendency towards conspiracy theorys. Conspiracies like The Illuminati, Freemasons, Opus Dei and others that Brown used for reference in his books. I propose to write a Novel that traces, using factual as well as fictional characters, the Knights Templar from it's roots to the present using as little fantasy as possible. I started this book almost 40 years ago and you can read the raw beginning in Chapter 1 for now. I hope you stay with me as this progresses, Meanwhile, read John Robinson's book, Born in Blood and give the Masons a break.
