Chapter One
Starting of this story should be with the letter S. Why so? This will be the question that comes in your mind. You will know the reason behind this, soon. The thought, which made me write this, is a thought of happiness, relief and mostly love. The love that showers as rain, the love that caress me as a cold breeze and the love that feel when i get to drink a good black tea. Why this rain and cold breeze came in between ? because i am on my way to the railway station, on my scooter. Its raining and the weather is cold. But, how is this related to love and am i the only person who is feeling this as love? There is a story behind this. The story that made me write this, the story that made me feel the way which i feel now. This is the story of an Untold Love.
It all started few months back. I was back at cochin to stay with my friends. I was the only person who was working from home at that time. Rest of all my friends had to go office.So i was all alone during this day time. My daily routine on a work day would start with the morning standup call and end with the evening call with the onsite team. Myself and one of my friend had the work starting at the same time. His name is Brighton and he is from Thrissur. Mostly, by 10.30 we use to go to a tea shop, where we use to have tea and snacks. That was our breakfast on most of the days. Once, he is done with the breakfast, he would leave for office and i would continue sitting at the teashop for some time.
That time i spend alone there, gave me thoughts on my life and make decision on how to approach towards the problems in my life. I am writing this, sitting inside a running train.At this late night, i chose to write my story because the feeling that is deep inside me. I was not ready for this journey emotionally, but that smile made all my problems dissappear and i become happy for sometime.How can a smile have this much impact in one’s life?
One fine bright morning, we went to the teashop as usual. He finished his breakfast and went office. I was sitting there, looking at my mobile phone. I was sitting on a bench, on the opposite side of which, there was no one. Suddenly, someone came and sit on the opposite side. But, the person was sitting facing the teashop. I could see that, it is a female and she was smoking a cigarette. I was a bit curious to know, who it was. When she tilted her face at a point, i saw her face. She had curly hairs, with a curved face and a was having specs.. I couldn’t take my eyes from her. She was having some magical cuteness that attracted me. I was in a dilemma, not knowing what to do. All i could do was to look at her, without causing a discomfort for her. It took a fews mins for her to finish off her cigarette and she paid the amount and walked away. Unlike a majority of the people, she was not looking around, checking out what is happening nearby, she just walked way looking at the road.
I was confused and still looking at her, walking away. I sat there sometime and went back home. Somehow, i got a thought in my mind saying that, she would come every day.So, i decided to go to the teashop everyday on the same time. Usually, i would go to that teashop twice a day, first one at 11 in the morning and the other one sometime in between 4.30 and 5. That day, around 4.45 in the evening, i went to the teashop. I was sitting there drinking tea, that same girl walked towards the shop and bought a cigarette and a tea. She sat on the table next to mine. A spark of recognition flashed in both of our minds, is what i could understand from the look she made, when she saw me. She was not smiling, her face was not having any expression. I was happy to see her, but sad that i couldn’t see her smiling. She had an earphone connected to her mobile, listening to some song and smoking a cigarette.
Days Passed, i have returned from Goa. The next day was sunday. I went to the teashop, in hope that i would see her. But, i couldn’t find her. Maybe, she might have went home for the vacctions. I was really disappointed. It has been days, since i have seen her face and that beautiful smile. Even, at this point, i am not sure if she knows that, there is a person who is really admiring her and the beautiful smile that she gives. Two more days passed with hopes left. One day, the time was past 7 or 7.30 in the evening. I was at the teashop, drinking a black tea. All of a sudden, she just walked in towards me. She was having a backpack and she looked more beautiful, maybe because of this gap i had in seeing her. She was wearing her specs, but there was no cap. At a point, she saw me and we were looking at each other for a few seconds. All of a sudden, she just walked away from me, which got me shocked. That reaction from her, got me mind-stucked for a few minutes. Random thoughts began populating in my mind, like she doesn’t like me, i am making her feel uncomfortable, my presence is making it awkward for her to be around this place etc... I made up my mind to stop all of this. It was a hard decision to make, but nothing stands over a person’s freedom.
I was about to finish my black tea and leave from the place. But, i felt like someone familiar is walking towards me. It was her, my beauty, this time she didn’t have the backpack, but she had the cap. And the most beautiful part, she gave me the most beautiful smile that, i have ever got in all these while. It was a priceless moment, that i would cherish for my lifetime.
