Chapter 1
I turned on my laptop and started writing my notes. “Hello world, it’s Saturday morning. My name is Connor, Connor Hanaway and I’m ready to find someone.” I stopped and questioned what I was doing with my life.
I walked outside I felt the warm sun on my face hitting the rest of my body and I met my cousin at the nearest coffee shop. “Hey. How are you holding up?” He said to me with care. I looked down at my coffee. “Ok. Ok. You don’t half to respond if you don’t want to.” My cousin said. I spoke to him revealing himself. “How is everything Chase?” I said to him. “I’m ok, I just got a job at a school I’m a janitor.” I looked at and turned my to the side like a dog. “A janitor?” I said. Chase tried to change the subject by putting his hands on the tables. “Look let’s talk about something else.” I looked at Chase with pride. “Why don’t you talk about Silk Street?” Chase rolled his eyes at me. “Because that place is perverted and wrong, who would want to bang in the middle of public?!?” He started to realize. “Connor do you really want to find someone like that?” I shook my head. “No. No, I just want to find that special someone.” The moment I said that I heard the door open. I saw the girl who would bring me happiness and I would respect her no matter what.
“Excuse me, Chase.” Chase turned around because he had been in a similar position like mine. “And away we go.” Chase mumbled.
“Hi.” I said to the girl with the long brunette hair and yellow shirt. “Oh! Hello … are you waiting for someone I could get out of your way?” She said with kindness, honesty, energetic and vibrant hope.
“Oh no, no, no not at all! I just wanted to talk with you and maybe by you a coffee?”
We talked for an hour or 2 and while we were talking I Chase walk out of the coffee shop, but gave a look of warning, but also with a smile because he was glad I was starting to get happy again.
“So what’s your name?” I said to the kind loving lady. “I’m Sarah, Sarah Horrow.” I nodded my head and told her my name. “Connor Hanaway.” She laughed and gave me a smile with her pink lips.
“So what do you like to do?” She looked at me with shock. “No, ahh … sorry that’s sounded to far umm.” I said with embarrassment but she still laughed. “It’s ok. I love history, I’m a world history teacher for high schoolers, I’m teaching greek history right now.” I looked at her with a smile to my two ears. “No way! I love history as well!”
She looked me. “Ok, Connor … thank you but um.. why don’t you tell me about yourself?” I looked her but after all the chat we had she knew she a better understanding for someone like me.
“I had a cousin, his name was Anthony, he ……” I could tell Sarah wanted to know what I was going to say but I was tearing up, but I wanted her to know. “You don’t half to tell me Connor.” Sarah said. She was about to get out of her seat and say goodbye. “Anthony died of cancer.” She looked at me with shock. “Oh my god…. Connor … I….. I’m so….. I’m so sorry.” I told her everything. “I see a therapist every once a month, I write letters to my self on a laptop I bought 3 weeks ago, I always wondering was right or was I really that much of an asshole shunting him out of his last talked to me…… Sarah I’m sorry I thought if I could talk to you … maybe you could help me… but I’m rushing this … I’m so sorry.” I start to cry. “Connor.” Sarah held my left hand with hers. “I wanted to start over, start a new life. Have ever heard of a town called Silk Street? I was raised In that place, Silk Street.…. But I never …. I …. I never did it with anyone. I’m a virgin. I knew I would be like them I would be a shamed of myself.” Sarah got out of my seat and she helped me get out of mine. “Follow me.” Sarah said. We talked town to the direction of her place and White House with blue windows. Sarah reached her right hand out. “If you think this is way to soon then I understand.” I held on to her hand firmly. Sarah and I walked up the stair of her porch and we shut the door behind us.
