Reunion
At the crack of dawn, as the sun's rays yawned,
Janu's slumber was abruptly withdrawn.
A familiar number flashed upon the screen,
Her heart fluttered, questioning the unseen.
With trepidation, she grasped the receiver,
An eerie silence made her senses shiver.
Suddenly, heavy panting reached her ear,
Tears cascaded down, fueled by latent fear.
Quivering, she whispered, "Ram, is it truly you?"
Anxious for his response, her emotions askew.
"Yes, my dear," he replied, voice filled with care,
"How have you been? Tell me, if you dare."
"I'm well," she murmured, tears wetting the table,
Emotions surged, her heart aching, unstable.
"Have you ventured too far from my embrace?"
Ram inquired, concern etched on his face.
Her lips quivered, words like a distant wind,
"I don't know," she confessed, emotions intertwined.
A battleground of sentiments waged within her core,
Anger, anxiety, happiness, sorrow, all she bore.
Sensing her turmoil, Ram whispered, "I apologize,
For barging into your life, unveiling old ties.
Three years have passed since our last connection,
I longed to hear your voice, seek affection."
Janu glanced at the calendar, realization dawned,
June 16th, the day they vowed to abscond.
Forced by circumstances, she married another,
Her heartaches amplified, her dreams smothered.
Summoning strength, she implored, "Where are you, Ram?
Do you still wander, an aimless ship in the exam?"
Ram's gentle smile adorned his words in reply,
"I'm grateful I've yet to face another tempest, oh my!"
"Tornado," he fondly called her, his world unspun,
Their encounter, a turning point, his life overrun.
Ram's jubilation surged when Janu revealed her plight,
"I'm nine months pregnant," she declared, a stirring sight.
Overwhelmed with joy, Ram's voice soared high,
"A junior on the way? Oh, how time does fly!
I yearn to hold the baby in my embrace,
Yet empty hands remain, longing for your grace."
Janu's heart heavy, she wept without restraint,
Silently, she endured, concealing her pain's paint.
Ram, oblivious, pleaded, "Baby, hold my hands tight."
She extended her arms, whispering, "mmmm..." with all her might.
In the midst of silence, the connection adrift,
Ram questioned, "Shall I end it, my love, swift?"
Before the line severed, Janu mustered her plea,
"I need something from you, will you grant it to me?"
Startled, Ram pledged, "For you, I'd do anything,
Speak your desire, and I shall be your wings."
Janu whispered feebly, "Take me where love unfurled,
To the cherished place, your heart's melodious world."
Bewildered, Ram queried, "Where shall I transport you?"
Confusion draped his voice, eager to construe.
Janu, meekly, confided, "Your heartbeat, my cure,
To rest there for a while, memories secure."
A gentle smile graced Ram's lips, kind and warm,
"Just hold your phone close, let it be your charm.
Close your eyes, my love, and intently listen,
To the rhythm of my heart, a love's magnum opus glisten."
Moments passed, beeping sounds filled the air,
Janu's heart raced, ensnared by fear's snare.
"Ram, are you safe? Where are you, my dear?"
In desperate desperation, she pleaded in despair,
Amidst her questions, she gasped at the absence in the air.
A void enveloped her, silence veiled the line,
Her tears cascaded freely, a river, brine.
Bitterly she wept, unconsciousness claimed her soul,
Embraced by darkness, the turmoil took its toll.
But as she awoke from her anguished descent,
A symphony of heartbeats near her heart, content.
She gazed down, a miracle laid upon her breast,
Her son, slumbering peacefully, a vision blessed.
Tenderness filled her, emotions overflowed,
Whispering softly, she vowed, her voice bestowed.
"Welcome back, Ram," she murmured, love untamed,
A mother's affection, her heart forever claimed.
