The Alpha Reigns

SHORT STORY

My alarm went off at 6:00am like it does every school day. I jump up to turn it off and then realized, "ugh I forgot to turn my alarm off." I graduated high school over the weekend. I go to my phone settings and happily delete that setting. I lay in bed and toss and turn for about half an hour. "Sigh, ok might as well get up." I get up and go to my closet. I grab bluejeans-shorts, a tank top and underwear.

I walk into the jack-n-jill bathroom I share with my younger twin sisters. I set my clothes on the bench in the bathroom and do my business in the separate loo room as my mom likes to call it. When done I go and take a shower. Once I was done with my shower I wrapped a towel around my hair and put a robe on. I walk out of the shower area and my sisters are sitting on the bench.

I see they are both wearing sundresses. Tatum is wearing a green one and Tiana is wearing orange. "Good morning Tabs. Can you brush my hair please? I want a ponytail," request Tatum.

"I want pigtails," Tiana requested.

"Go to your room and make your bed while I get dressed and blow dry my hair. When you hear the blow dryer turn off, come back in here and I will fix your hair." They stood up and started to run toward their room. I got a flash of their green panties, "also put shorts on under your dresses or I won't take you to the park later." Then the bathroom door slams shut.

I smile and get ready. As soon as the hair dryer is turned off they run back into the bathroom. I grinned at them. I brushed their hair and did Tatum in a ponytail and Tiana in pigtails. Tiana looked at me and said ``how come you never mix us up even when we change clothes?"

I laughed, "you two might be identical, but I can tell you apart. Don't think I did not notice Tatum is now wearing orange and you're wearing green."

"Mom and Dad never seem to catch on when we swap out."

I laugh, "yeah they do, but it amuses them. They let you think they don't. They let you think your pulling one over on them. You two are 10 and are old enough to know that."

"I bet they won't notice."

"Let me fix your hair identical today and you two keep swapping out your clothes. At breakfast I will announce that this week everyone is to call you by your correct name no matter what outfit you're wearing."

"Ok and what is the bet?" She pauses. "I know on the next cleaning day the losers do the other chores."

Just then Mom's voice from the bathroom door says, "I want part of that bet. If you two win then Tabby does both your chores this Saturday and I will do your chores the following. This means you get two weeks of no chores if you win, but if you lose then this weekend you both do Tabs and your own. Then the following week you two will do mine and your chore list. But the same rule applies. If you don't do it within my specifications you will have to redo them.

Tiana shouts out, "it's a bet." She looks at Tatum, "let's go put on the outfits grams got us. She is the only one who buys us matchy-matchy, but first let us get our hair styled the same.

That is how I got my free weekend of no chores. I am currently walking the hiking trails. As I walk I am enjoying a rare free day. Normally, I have my sisters (the twins I mentioned earlier) and brothers (Jamie, eight and Adam seven) following me, but dad took the boys to work with him. He is the alpha of Silva Creek Pack. I go behind one of the trees and undress. I toss my clothes into my canvas bag. I toss it over my shoulder and shift into my wolf. (Yes, I am a werewolf.)

I start to run the territory when I feel a ping in my heart. It knocks my breath out. My wolf whimpers. I shift with no warning. She says to me, "hide". I look around and dive inside a hollow tree. I noticed three baby skunks. I was thinking of climbing out when I heard voices, "I lost the scent."

"Are you sure you had a scent?"

"Check the area. I hear a voice close to where I am hidden when suddenly there is a large mama skunk blocking the entrance. She turns and sprays who is outside. My nose scrunched up the smell. "Dammit, this shit burns." I heard one man yell.

I heard two men say, "head back to Silver Dome Base Camp. Your smell will give away our surprise attack on Silva Creek Pack."

I open up my link, "Dad, dad, dad," I yell through our link."

Dad growls, "Tabitha Gayle Winston, stop that yelling."

I am still yelling in my link, "Dad, I am hidden in a tree on Ridge Trail. Silver Dome Pack members are sneaking in for an attack. Get everyone to safety."

"Are you positive that is what they are doing?"

"Dad, I heard one of their guys state they were going to do a surprise attack on Silva Creek Pack."

All the sudden I hear, "Attention pack- this is NOT a drill. All pups, non-fighters, and pregnant wolves head to the shelter safe rooms. Hospital staff evacuate patients and staff to lower alternate location. All warriors report to the battle station. Delta Simon makes contact with all patrols. See who is missing. Beta Quinton takes the elite force to Ridge Trail and retrieves my daughter."

I shout to just dad, "no dad, I am safe right now. They won't come into where I am at. I am in a skunk den and mama's already sprayed someone. I won't be found. Keep everyone there to fight."

Dad all the sudden says, "Tabs stay safe, I will come for you after the fight. Q instead take your group and sweep the compound to make sure everyone is safe and assist those that need help to safety." Then he cut the link to me.

Once I hear no one moving outside I duck down toward the entrance. The mother skunk looks at me and she steps to the side as I step out she walks past me into the den.

I then start to follow the skunked man's trail. I shifted and was surprised when I realized I had small paws. I looked into my reflection in the creek I was walking by. I was a fox. I was startled but did not have time to ponder this shift. I continued to follow the skunked man's trail. We were close to the territorial border when I heard a voice call out, "what the hell happened to you?l

"I got too close to skunk kits and mama sprayed me. Did you get all the prisoners?"

"Go to the first aid kit for treatment. Yes, we got 8 prisoners. 2 others from their pack are dead." That must have been the small stab I felt in my chest. I sneak around the edge sniffing but I still don't smell anything. I see some tents set up on the edge of a meadow near the tree line. There are two large men standing in front of one of the tents. I sneak over to them and still don't smell any pack members. I think to myself, "they must be using scent begone." I look across the area and see the guy I had been following. He is standing outside a tent and I see another guy handing him a bottle. Then he takes off toward the creek.

I decided to head back to the tent with the two guards. "I wish I was a smaller creature so I could get by those guards easier. I suddenly shifted again as I was running closer to the tent. I realized I was a tiny chipmunk. I ran in the grass between their feet and into the tent. I saw 8 of our warriors gagged and handcuffed. I ran up to one off them. It was one of my trainers. "Trainer Samuel," I yell. He did not answer. I saw him open his eyes and look at me. I could tell he did not seem to understand me. I got near his wrist and touched the silver, I started cursing because it burned me.

Samuel opens his eyes again, "You should leave little friend," he whispers. "This isn't a safe place to be." I started to turn and he gasped, "that a nasty burn on your side. You're a shifter? You got near my cuffs. They are silver. You need gloves and keys to get out of them."

I ran outside again. I see the keys laying on a chair by the entrance. I looked at the guards and they had moved by the fire about 25 feet away and were drinking coffee. I run up the chair that is by the tent and knock the keys to the ground. They clunk to the ground. One of the guards said, "Did you hear something?"

"No but if it makes you feel better go check the prisoners." Just then a squirrel jumps from one tree to another. Then landed on the tent chasing a nut that fell off the tree. The guys laughed. "That is your sound."

"I will still go check on them real quick." He walked over and unzipped the tent. He looked in and saw all of them still 'sleeping.' He turned and walked out. He kept the tent unzipped. He walked back to the fire, "they are still knocked out."

I grabbed the keys in my mouth and pulled the keys into the tent. Once I was inside the tent and the flaps were hiding me. I shifted to my human self. I saw the gloves and put them on. I picked up the key. I went behind Samuel and unhooked his chains. As soon as the chains were off he whispered to the others, "drop your eyes." I looked up and saw 7 men watching me." My face turned red. Samuel moved and blocked me from their view. He grabbed the keys and pulled the gloves off my hands and put them on him. "Shift back to the chipmunk and go outside, if they start this way start to chatter loudly."

He linked the alpha now that the silver chains were not blocking his link, "you got about 75 wolves heading your way from Silver Dome Pack. They mentioned an ally joining them. They had us captured and we are escaping. Be careful that have tranquilizer darts. That is how they caught us. We will take the Ridge Trail back."

Alpha replied, "watch for Tabitha. She is hiding somewhere near a skunk den on that trail. She already warned us of the attack."

He looked toward the flap and did not bother to tell his alpha his daughter was the reason they were escaping. "Yes, Alpha." He cut the link and finished uncuffing everyone. He linked the guys, "use the bags to make it look like us under the blankets. Be as quiet as you can. Then let's get out of here." He went to the flap and link, "everyone go low and when you get about 50 feet away in the woods shift and head toward Ridge Trail. When you smell the skunk, hide in that vicinity to regroup. Be careful and watch for the other packs. Here is a bottle of scent begone. Spray this on you before you leave. Don't want them to scent us. " Samuel then links back to his alpha, "Alpha Calvin we are spraying ourselves with scent begone. They used it too. So you won't smell them or us approaching. We are heading out."

Alpha replies, "be safe and bring back my daughter. " Then he calls out, "they are here. Defend our grounds." Then it went silent.

Meanwhile outside the tent...

I saw my pack members leaving one by one. I saw 6 of them leave. Just then one of the guards stood up. He started to turn toward that tent. I ran toward the guards and jumped on a log and started chattering very loud at them. He stopped and looked toward me, "who pissed you off?"

"Looks like a snack to me?" One of the others says. I jumped off the log and ran up to the man who said that and crawled into his pant’s leg. He started yelling and slapping his leg trying to hit me. I could hear the others laughing at him. I then ran down the other leg. I ran out of his pants and took off toward the woods away from the tent with an angry wolf chasing me. I ran up a tree. He stood at the bottom of the tree growling. He had shifted at some point into a grey wolf and was glaring up the tree. I saw squirrels and chipmunks head to my tree and surrounding trees. They started chattering and some even threw nuts at him.

Meanwhile I scurried over several trees and went down. Then shifted back into the fox and took off following the scent from earlier. When I saw 6 of the guys from our pack I then shifted back to my wolf and linked, "where are the others?"

"Jonas is scouting ahead and Samuel is checking to ensure we weren't followed while we waited for you. I linked him to say you are here. We are to head to the pack house and Samuel will catch up shortly."

I linked, "Samuel get up here with us fast or I refuse to leave. Remember you always told me, no one will be left behind."

"I just finished moving Carson and Onex onto pack territory. I got them hidden until we can come retrieve them. I will be there in ten minutes. Just start to jog up the trail and I should catch you within 15. This way we aren't wasting time."

I turned and started jogging about half speed until Samuel caught up. We were about 3/4 of the way back when our scout linked, "hide. They got about half a dozen injured wolves heading your way."

We quickly hide. We see seven unfamiliar werewolves walking by us in human form and notice five of them are wrapped up with bandages. One of them says, "I wish we could have stayed. We won't be able to get the first pick of the prisoners."

"Alpha Titus said since we fought so well and our group was who killed the alpha we can trade our assigned prisoner for whomever we want."

I gasped when I heard that. One of the enemy wolves said, "what was that?"

I quickly shifted to a badger when I thought, "I need to be something else or they will know I am a werewolf. " When they look into the place I am hiding I charge out. I growl and they quickly back away. "Back off. We are already injured. We don't need more injuries from a mad badger. Let's get back to base camp."

They back off and I hear another wolf mention, "I hope they find the alpha's pups. They were not with the others in the safe rooms we were shown."

They quickly take off. I shift back to my wolf and look at Samuel. "I know where my siblings will be. I need you guys to follow me. I know how we will get in. Plus get weapons. Grandma before she passed showed me a secret way into the pack house." I then looked at Samuel, "They claim they killed dad. How come I still feel him? Who could of shown them the safe rooms?"

"I am not sure. I know you did not get the alpha power. I did not feel the pack shift command to another pack so he is not dead. I am not sure what is going on. Now show us how we can get weapons and possibly rescue our pack members."

I took them around toward the old sanctuary. I walked past the sanctuary ruins toward the old well. I shift back into my human form. I pushed some rocks into a pattern my grandmother showed me. The old well then shifted and spiral steps started to form.

Jonas linked, "I will go down first."

I said, "no, I will. This way I can open the door that goes to the passageway." Before anyone could protest I jumped over and started climbing down. I grab the rope that is hanging and start walking down. My foot slides on the eighth step which angled down. "When coming down the 8th step it is not safe." I continue down and then at the bottom I step into the water. I reach over and press more rocks in a sequence and a wall slides open. I link up, "I am down here and the door is open. Come on down. Jonas, I want you to come down last. I want you to make sure no signs of us coming down is left. " I walk into the hallway and grab a robe out of a box that is there at the entrance.

Soon everyone is down and I press other rocks and the stairwell disappears and the wall closed. I turn and see everyone wearing robes. Jonas looked at me, "I erase what I found within 15 feet of the well. I made signs of wolves heading toward the cliffs as a decoy."

"Thank you." I reach over and the room dimly lights up. "Follow me." We walked about 20 minutes. I then reach over and push some rocks. Another secret door slides open. They walk into a room with sofas, a kitchenette. "Go through that door in the back left corner. There are showers in the back. Put on the blue shorts outfits that are on the shelves. Leave one outfit for me and stuff the rest into bags which you should see in there too. While you do that. I will heat up some of these canned food. Make it quick. If you have any cuts or injuries there is first aid kits under the bathroom sinks."

I grabbed out a large pot. I opened up and emptied some canned stew. I pulled out bowls and silverware. Some of the guys started to come out, "grab a bowl of stew. I am going to go put on an outfit." They all came out wearing blue and white shorts outfits. Within 30 minutes of arriving we were all done dressed and done eating.

I went to a shelf and clicked some buttons. "I can feel you all are anxious and wanting to get to the pack. We need intel to discover what is going on. But it would be irresponsible to go in their blind and with no protection. We all heard those wolves say dad, our alpha is dead, but none of us feel his loss. We know his power has not shifted to anyone yet." As I was speaking a screen lowered down. I continued to pressed a button and a map showed our pack area. I look over at Samuel, "I have been being trained in fighting and implementing defense and offense by my dad and Samuel. I will admit I still need more training. I am going to give out suggestions and ask Samuel to help with the tactical side. What I am sharing here as ALPHA TO BE TABITHA GAIL WINSTON OF SILVA CREEK PACK COMMAND NO-ONE SPEAKS OF THIS ROOM TO OTHERS."

They all said, "yes alpha."

I pressed another button and the map zoomed in closer to the core of our pack. It had blue dots on it.

"This map you can see shows our set ups." Everyone is looking at the map. "This is why I brought us here and not right to the pack. One to get your minor injuries cleaned up. Then also get food in you for energy. Last was to strategize on how to take back our packs. You will notice some buildings have numbers. These building all have interior cameras. The blue dots show exterior cameras. They can be rotated around. I am sure we will see things that will make us upset and try to shift, but we have to keep control. That is the only way we can come up with a plan to save everyone. "

I looked over at Stu, "you have always been able to figure out computers and play games. I am going to give you the remote, the wireless keyboard and mouse to set up. " I opened up a drawer and pulled it out. I set it on the desk. Stu came over and hooked it up.

I pulled out a pointer light and turned it on. I handed it to Samuel. When your ready point to the area of this map and Stu will activate the cameras." I then pulled out notebooks and pens. None of us have our phones or laptops for notes. We are going back to taking notes. As I stated Samuel will help guide us on pub this, but we all can give input. Just keep it civil. I know as alpha to be I will have final say but I do admit I am still learning. Part of being a good leader dad always said is admitting when you need guidance. Samuel take over."

"Stu first of all is there a way to eliminate ball cameras not being motioned activated." He asked.

Stu started tapping on the keyboard. We have over 80 outdoor cameras. Plus we have several cameras inside buildings. "Done and if anyone moves into an inactivated camera it will become active again. All the ones lit up are where the activity is."

"This leaves about 20 active outdoor cameras. Interior activities are in the shrine, pack house, pack office, prison and the top 3 have activity inside." Samuel said. " show us what is going on in the square." Stu clicked a few buttons.

We watched young unshifted pups being taken into the shrine. The newly shifted and unmated were being guided into the packhorse. The parents and warriors were being guided or carried away from the square. "Follow where they are taking the injured, parents, elders and warriors." They were guided into the dungeons. We saw half a dozen prisoners walking out that our pack had placed in there for various offenses.

I say, "a big part of me says search for my family, but dad would be yelling at me to say pack is the priority when it comes to rescue. Let us see where the newly shifted and non mated were taken."

Stu replies, "yes, alpha." He starts clicking. "I deactivated the cameras inside that building with no use. We have three of the seven that are now active." There were 4 pack members in the kitchen preparing food. They had two unfamiliar wolves in human form guarding them. We see several pack members being taken downstairs to the movie theater and locked inside. We then saw eight unfamiliar wolves go back upstairs and locked the door to the basement. We did not see any unfamiliar wolves left in the basement. Two stood outside and the others left. We saw 3 pack members being forced upstairs. This caused growling to occur.

I looked at one of the warriors, "Bart isn't that your aunt in the kitchen preparing food?"

Bart replied, "yes, that is Aunt Pam."

"Send her a link. Tell her to nod her head but don't respond if she hears you. Let her know you see her on camera. Then every now and then ask if she understands and if so nod. Instruct her to be tasting the food and asking the guards to taste the food. Toward the end add Valerian root. Only enough that it will knock them about about an hour or so after consuming it. When she places it in the buffet line make sure one of them from kitchen is seen tasting the food. This way they will think it is safe even if it knocks the one out later. Once served have the four go to the kitchen quarters. Open up the window to make it look like they escaped, but go into the safe room in closet two. Tell her to be in safe spot before the root hits whoever tasted. Plan will be take over our pack within two hours. Sometime after that all hell will be breaking loose."

Bart replied, "yes alpha." Then his eyes clouded over.

"I think before we go any farther I need everyone to walk through the red door by the changing room. Everyone, but Bart stood up and went.

Then a minute later Bart joined us and said, "it's done Alpha. My cousin said she is the lightest so she will do the tasting. This way if she falls asleep they can still move her."

"Thank you." I shut the door and I pushed a button. All the sudden those in the room were getting hit with paintballs.

Their shorts outfit all the sudden shifted. They were wearing a mask over the face, their body was covered with a blue and black outfit that I thought seemed like Spiderman. Then silver bullets were flying through the air and silver tip arrows. Those items were all bouncing off their armor.

I commanded them, "SHIFT". They shifted to wolves and they were covered in armor that was silver, gold, and blue. Once again paintballs, arrows and bullets were in the air. When the last hit the ground. I pushed another button. A strong wind and water came down. The room looked clean. They uniforms were cleaned.

I looked at them in wolf form , "Samson, TJ, Bart, shift to humans in shorts." They we're back in shorts looking bewildered.

"Paul, Stu and Zander shift human wearing equipment. They shifted looking around. That left Jonas and I still in wolf form.

They were looking around. I linked to them, "when I first shifted my grandma showed me these passages and rooms. She had a seer tell her when she was a pup she needed to prepare these passages and rooms. She was told what to do. Her best friend from university days was an enchantress. She enchanted these clothes. Now everyone shifts into human form and shorts. and go back to the table. I think I got an idea of what to do, but I want to run it by you."

We all shifted and TJ said, "I know I got hit by two paintballs." He pulled up his shirt to show almost healed bruises from where he got hit. Then he pointed to his shirt. "There is no paint stain. Then our outfit became the cool Spider-Man outfit. Everything was bouncing off of us. We shifted and came back wearing these clothes that still look clean."

Zander added, "I agree when in human form had the outfit shift into the black and blue Spider-Man type outfit. All those arrows and bullets bounced off. That was so weird. Yet so cool. The clothes seem to become what we need. Does the shorts outfits change to other types of outfits?"

I reply, "no. These are the only three outfits they change into. What you just saw was what grandma shared with me. What I did to you in that room is what she did to me. These computers and camera was what I had installed when we did the pack trip to the island last summer. Grandma's friend spelled the installers to not remember a

being here being here."

I looked at Stu. I pointed to two camera that had been turned off. "Turn these on." He did a couple clicks. "Through here is where the cavern open into the pack house. This room is across from the theater. We can go to this room. We know they locked the them in the theater. "Samuel in the second drawer behind you open it. There are key ring numbers. The numbers represent the building. Grab the keychain with a number five on it. That key ring has all the keys for building five on it. I just am not sure which key is to what. Not sure if they are labeled."

Samuel opened the drawer and pulled out the keys. "These keys have markings like the keys the alpha has in his office."

"Yes, every time he updated a key he had a set made for grandma. Before her death he was told to give them to me. She would have me running the new keys here to add to the correct ring a couple years before her death, but I just would match the labels. The old keys were removed and placed in that chest in the far corner."

She then looked at the others at the table. "Now my idea is we take the cavern to the room across from the theater. " she points to the spot on the map. "Since the guards seem to be guarding from main level and not the basement level, but locked them in the theater we get them out first."

I look at Samuel, "Samuel since all of them are newly shifted or unmated you have been their trainer. They know you and follow your instructions. I will leave it up to you to figure out which keys unlock the theater, keep them quiet and get them to the cavern. They can put on shorts outfits like we have on."

Samuel smirks, "yes, I have trained them. My question is why go after them first."

"We get them into the cavern. We given them in outfits. Then demonstrate how it works. Next we go after the non shifted pups in the Shrine. We can see they have guards inside and outside. My thought is the more experience wolves go with us to take out the interior guards. There is also an entrance into the shrine."

I point to that entrance on the map. "The newly shifted without as much training will help grab the little pups and have older non-shifted pups help. We get them inside the hidden cavern under the shrine. "

I go over and push a button and it maps out the tunnels. "This map does not show any hidden caverns or entrances unless someone goes into that cavern or room. There is one hidden passageway by this hidden cavern beneath the shrine. You have seen me activate the hidden doors. Like the one that leads to this room.

Well as I stated there is a hidden cavern and a different hidden door that leads to a passageway that leads about 50 feet into the woods. It also sprays down scent be gone if activated. We get the pups in the hidden cavern. Make it look like they took off down the cave that leads into the woods. We have the newly shifted pups guard the pups in the hidden cavern under the shrine."

Paul asked, "you seemed to skip something. What about the girls taken up stairs and the ones who helped in the kitchen?"

I look at him, "no they are not forgotten."

"We got everyone out of the theater and into the safety; we know the four wolves in the kitchen should be in that safe room by then. I have not yet figured out how do we rescue the she-wolves who were taken upstairs? I figured we go after them after the young pups were safe.

Paul said, "there are a few older unmated wolves who have started basic warrior training. I saw taken into the theater. One of them is Johnny. We spar one another frequently. We make a good tag team. We both live on top floor. We also take a couple other basic Warrior wolves with us. My thought is we scale the wall to my room. We wait in there until the notification of the escape is noticed. I am sure the packhouse will be cleared by then. We will sweep the rooms for anyone. We bring some outfits for us to place on the she-wolves. We will aim to get them to where Bart's aunt is. We hide there until given all clear. By then some of the enemy will start to drop from the valerian root."

"I partially agree with your plan. I think your best bet is to take the into the cavern to the diner. I will show you what to look for and how to open that entrance. Then use the tree coverage to scale the wall to your room. Then if you can get them from safe room to where Pam is at. Just make sure you link her before you try to enter."

Samuel states, "you are showing more and more alpha traits. This means your dad is getting weaker. "

I look startled at that thought. Then I take a deep breath, "next will be we take back the prison. In that draw is keys for the prison. We will need outfits for them also. In that room with the outfits are the bags I said to fill up. We will be carrying them between locations. I have only been to the prison twice in my life. Dad said he would wait until I was 18 or maybe 21 before he would introduce me to the darker side of our pack. Has anyone ever worked the prison?"

Stu all the sudden started cursing, "what the hell. That traitorous son of a bitch. That 🤬🤬🤬🤬 (Author note: admit I am not much of a cursor, but I imagine Stu being very colorful in his language.) We all stop and looked at Stu.

Samuel growls, "Stuart Michael Everson, get control of yourself. We do have a lady and a minor here even if she is acting like an alpha."

Stu then points to the screen. We look and I see dad is chained up. Then I see dad's younger brother, Uncle Clark standing with three alphas who all have ate at our dinner table. I feel rage hit me. I see Uncle Clark holding a needle above dad. My rage gives me more power to break through. I am able to feel dad, I can tell his wolf is weak. I add the people in the room with my link. In an alpha tone, "dad, fight. We are coming."

Dad replied, "how did you do that Tabs? Zap has been in a coma type state since I was shot. I am getting weaker. Clark is going to take the pack."

I reply, "like hell he is, I ALPHA TABITHA WINSTON COMMAND YOU ALHA CALVIN ZAP WINSTON TO STEP DOWN AND PASS ALL YOUR POWER TO ME." I see him look up toward the camera and nod. All the sudden I feel myself grow in power.

My uncle then throws down that needle. You see an argument start. The alphas go outside and start fighting. I link everyone in the pack, "Alpha Calvin is still alive if you can hear me. He just passed his power to me before Uncle Clark could steal it. Uncle Clark does not know he passed it to me. Clark just accused Silver Dome Pack, Alpha Titus Carto; Juniper Pack. Alpha Tyrone Smythe; Hidden Valley Pack, and Alpha Douglas Eklem of stealing's dad's power. They are fighting.

Right now none of my uncle's mate or cousins are getting linked. If they are near you watch them, but don't act on it. We don't know if they are involved. Just know we are coming to rescue you, but we are rescuing the pups and newly shifted first. When we say fight you will know all captured pups we have seen are rescued. I promise if not found we will not give up until all are accounted for."

I hear a bunch of, "yes alphas." I also hear mom and siblings say, "Tabs."

I close the pack link and just link them, "stay put. I am coming. I am glad you made it to the secret room. Mom we will rescue dad. "We haven't reached anyone in the backup hospital yet."

"I can reach them from here. I have head of medicines phone number. The underground hospital was soundproofed. I know links cannot get through."

I reply, "Mom link Stewart Henry and he will let us know if safe or needing rescue. I gotta go we got a pack to save."

She whispers, "stay safe."

"Stu, mom has a way to reach Doctor Grahams and she will let you know if we need to plan a rescue or not."

"Yes Alpha."

"Let's grab the gear and move out. I look at Stu, "not you. We need your eyes. Also when dad passed his power, I picked up knowledge. Figure out how this system is linked to to the theater intercom system. They would not of heard my link in that room, but would of felt the power shift. Try to reach them and also the hospital staff. Let them know what is going to happen. You are our eyes. Keep us informed on what is happening on the outside."

"Yes alpha." He turns and sits back down.

I turn around and each of them are wearing back packs. I say, "shift. " We all turn to wolves with the protective f shield on. Stu walks over and opens the door for us and we take off toward the pack house. I call to Stu through the link, "click the purple button when the unmated and I shifted pups gets in the caverns. It will spray scent begone on everyone. Hit it now so we get sprayed just in case the stuff we put on earlier has started to wear off. Then hit it when all the pups are taken into the cavern we are hiding them in ."

"Yes Alpha."

We charge down the passageway to the pack house cavern.

When we got to where the cavern entrance is at the pack house. Samuel linked, "Stu is the basement at pack house cleared still?"

Stu replied, "yes, but give me a few minutes. Still trying to hack into the theater and hidden hospital." We stand there getting jittery, "I just broke into the intercom and explained what will happen to them. Alpha I just saw alpha Tyrone kill that traitorous bastard, Clark. Alpha Titus looks like he got Alpha Douglas down but he is still moving. Alpha Titus and Alpha Tyrone are now fighting. Most of the various packs are out there exchanging money."

"We'll watch them. We still got pack members to rescue. Let us know when we can get the youth shifters." I broke the link.

Samuel said, "This means that when the fight is over whoever wins will be able to absorb the others powers. If that happens he might be too powerful for you to beat."

"He is on our land and lost the fight, let me see if I can absorb their power before their fight is over." I close my eyes and start to talk in an ancient language that my grandmother and enchantress taught me. Even though no one else could understand what I said. "Moon Goddess of ancient time. We seek your guidance to right a great evil. I ask that you transpose the powers of Clark Winslow, Alpha Douglas Eklem and whoever loses the alpha fighting on my pack lands, Silva Creek to me. When you find their rightful and good leader I will send it back to them. Just help myself to defeat and reign over this evil descending here. Give me the strength to help heal those who need it. Give me the knowledge to say and do the proper things for my people and the other packs people. I know I have a lot to give me, but I seek this to help others and not myself. I ask you to give me the strength to know when to let go.

All of a sudden I was not in the caverns. I was standing in the meadow by the pond. I looked up and saw Enchantress Kylie, my grandma and a beautiful woman I did not know. I called out, "Grandma!!!" I ran and threw my arms around her. Then I asked, "am I dead?"

Grandma wrapped her arms around me and kissed my forehead, "no you are not dead, but we need to deal with their deaths."

I look at where she is pointed. I see two large silver wolves and one large mangy grey wolf with two scrawny wolves. Next to them is Alpha Douglas, Alpha Tyrone and Uncle Clark. When I saw Uncle Clark I growled. All of a sudden all three looked at me. I snarled at Uncle Clark, "if you were not already dead you would be dead. I do not believe in the rogue system. I would not even give you a chance to redeem yourself. Why did you betray you pack?"

He straightened up, "I should have figured out he passed his alpha title to you and not one of these wolves. He should never have been alpha. I was the oldest twin."

"You did this for jealousy? You are not worthy to be saved. You should be condemned to the river of dead."

The beauty lady walked to my side. She looked at Clark, "I, Moon Goddess Celeste concur with Alpha Tabitha. I hereby strip you, your mate and pups of all powers. You are condemned to the river of death."

Celeste then looked at me. "Your grandmother has a townhouse in the city. It was set up as a trust fund for Clark. Rightfully it should go back to the pack, upon his death. I would suggest setting it up as a trust for your two cousins to live in with their mother. They were not part of this plan, but they have several negative traits. Once the younger is 21, the oldest 24 and if they show true remorse they can decide if they wish to return to the pack. If I see true remorse their wolves will be returned to them. If they do not have true remorse then I will pass on their wolf to a more deserving soul. If they have not shown true remorse by their natural death they will join Clark. I will go to them in a dream to let them know."

She then turns to the mangy wolf, "you may have him once his power has shifted into Tabitha." She then looked at Clark and stated, "you were the second pup born. Your brother was the true alpha."

My uncle snarls, "that is a lie. I will kill you myself." I step in front of the goddess. My clothes shift to human equipment. I swung my arm forward and he flew back several feet and landed on his bum. The mangy wolf nods his head and the two smaller wolves with him grab Clark and disappear.

I smirk, "that hit felt awesome." I then turned toward the other two. "Alpha Tyrone, why did you attack our pack? We have been neutral with each other for over 100 years."

"Six months ago I found and lost my mate on the same day. Your Uncle came to me and claimed he was the first born. He showed me the two birth certificates. It showed him being born at 11:11am and your father at 11:14am. He promised you as my chosen second chance if I helped him. I will admit standing here he took advantage of my weakened state. I know my pack was losing power after losing my first mate, and having an alpha born Luna would help. I said, "yes." He looked me in the eye, "I owe you and apology and will admit I have dishonored my mate's memory and pack."

"I believe you. I forgive you. I now ask you, before Titus can strip you of your alpha power for losing the battle will you willingly pass your alpha power to me?"

He stood tall, "I, Alpha Tyrone Smythe of Juniper Pack hereby declare you in front of these witnesses my heir to my pack and willingly relinquish all my alpha power to you."

I feel his power shift. He starts to fall to his knees when an unknown she wolf runs up to him. She wrapped her arms around him and the two silver wolves helped hold him up too. He murmurs, "mate."

I smile toward them and look at Celeste. She also smiles at them, "I am going to give you a chance to redeem yourself. I am going to send you both back to be born again into the same pack. You will remember parts of this life in dreams. This may stop you both from making similar mistakes. I wish you both well." One of the silver wolves lays on the ground, "climb on Oxen's back and he will take you were your need to be." They climb on and Oxen takes off in a fast speed.

We turn to Douglas. "It is now time for your story."

"My part is simple, "it was to save my mates."

"Uncle Clark or Alpha Titus has her?"

"It is them. You see, I turned 21 this year. I realized who my mates were, but cannot claim them since they are minors. Your uncle said he would kill them if I did not help. My men were told to kill no one in this pack. They could only knock them out. I volunteered my pack to the trees with the tranquilizer guns. I was supposed to have silver bullets, but changed it. They were told once they knocked out members of your pack they were to," he did finger quotes, "accidentally shoot anyone who tried to harm the sleeping wolves. When the fighting stopped I sent half my pack to gather up the sleeping wolves and move them to the prison." The rest were told to stay in the trees to guard us on the ground and the sleeping ones.``

I looked at him and asked, "Who are your mates?"

He replied, "it is your sisters, Tiana and Tatum."

"Do my parents know?"

"Yes, which is why I left early the day of their tenth birthday. I told your father why I was leaving. He said we will figure it out because with me knowing who my mates are and not being near them could weaken my pack. But werewolf law states we cannot reveal to our mate we are mates if they are minors. I have eight years of waiting. When the other alphas were not around your father thanked me for protecting his pack. He figured Clark had spiked his coffee. He was drinking his coffee when you linked him about the upcoming attack." Douglas started fading in and out of sight.

I call out, "what is happening. He hasn't resigned his spot and given me his power. This should help me defeat Titus

As he fades from sight with a couple last words, "it's yours." I once again feel my power increase. I look at the three ladies, "what happened? Why did he fade and the others were escorted out?"

"During the alpha's fighting. Douglas wasn't killed. He was gravely injured and passed out. Someone must have revived him and he is back with his body. He no longer is floating between life and death. He won't remember meeting you here or the others. He will just know the moon goddess stripped him of his power for not going to your father. When he shows promise of being a better alpha I will give him his power back. This is why those packs will fall under you. With your alpha command you can order Juniper to stop fighting. Plus order Hidden to keep defending from the trees. The ones at the prison you can help get free. The only ones anyone will now fight will be Silver Dome. Yes you will have to fight Titus and it will be to death. He won't stop but with your shifter spirit merging with others' power they can defeat him."

The enchantress looked at me, "I saw you have learned you can shift to other smaller creators. I don't know if you realize it, but the smaller creatures will also protect you. Which is a rare power to have. If they feel you are being attacked they will defend you like a pack."

"Would that be why the mother skunk sprayed the one wolf who almost found me? Or the squirrel dropping a nut to chase on the tent when I was trying to get the keys that distracted the guards. Or squirrels and chipmunks throwing nuts at an angry wolf and I was able to escape?"

The enchantress replied, "Yes, that is why they helped you. They felt a need to protect you. Just like your pack will feel that pull to protect you, so will they. Now thanks to Alpha Tyrone you now will be able to shift into a tiger. Very few people knew this, but his mom was a tiger and his dad a wolf." I looked at her surprised. "The tiger is stronger than a wolf. Trust your spirit guide. Let her guide the fight. I know you will win. She will shift to the Tiger and that surprise will help you defeat Titus. I am also giving you this charm. This charm deflect any incantations. Titus' great grandmother was a witch and he was born with powers. Unfortunately he did not go to the family coven. Instead he went to the Crescent Coven which follows dark magic. When he tries to cast a spell when he realizes he is losing this charm will reflect it back to him. It will be his evil that will defeat him..Titus will then join Clark at the river of death."

My grandmother says, "you then will reign over these packs as their alpha. Your parents will be your Elders to help guide. I have seen one thing that will hurt you. It is your mate. Titus is your mate. I don't want you distracted in battle by that pull. Your father told him he had to wait until you were no longer a minor. He refused and wanted to force the mate bond on you now. He has gone over toward feral being asked to wait just two months for you. He does not know about your shifting gift. Your parents don't know either. Your grandpa and I knew it was a possibility your or your siblings could have it since I also had the gift. She then kissed my cheek. Do not worry about killing him because Celeste has already picked out a new second chance mate for you. Now it is time to go meet your destiny."

I reach up and hug her. "I love you." Then I fade away from her arms and re-emerge in Samuels. We look at each other and step toward the theater to meet my destiny...
