“Teen love” sounds beautiful right?

When you get your first love feeling as a teenager you get butterflies in your belly. You feel like you are getting the most beautiful life leading like in those movies. But there is a “but” in every story. Some teen loves become successful which inspires the young couple to fulfill their goals. On the other hand, there are some couples whose love just gets stuck in the middle of their journey. They either move on in their lives or get depressed thinking about their memories and times they shared together. A young love means it’s innocent, it’s sweet and it’s perfectly normal to make mistakes at that age but the mistake shouldn’t be that big which can hurt someone.

2016 is the year where a young girl, Vanessa got her first crush.

She was a simple girl with simple living thoughts. And she was introverted during those times. Vanessa would love to wear long dresses and always do something special with her hair, people would admire her hair every time they see her. It was that, that year she was in grade four, when she got her first crush. He had a normal height like 5’5, popular for his sports in football and the mature behaviour and having a simple thinking towards others made him more special. Actually, Vanessa saw him from kindergarten but never felt anything about him before. Now, every time she sees her crush she would get this feeling that she is enjoying her vacation at a beach. However, whenever her crush passes her class she would just keep on admiring him. Even though Vanessa used to hate to go to school before, because of him everyday she would love to go to school. Her crush was one year older than her. Once there was a class party where she crossed him and then she could smell the amazing fragrance of the perfume he was wearing and oh my god believe me she would just keep dreaming about him at night as well as during the day. She even didn’t wash her dress because it smelled like his crush. Another day, she saw him in a marriage ceremony. He dressed up with a black coat, a white shirt inside and a blue tie. He was looking so handsome that she couldn’t stop looking at him. Years passed, she was then in grade seven and she finally got the courage to express her love to him. Her heart was beating fast, she was walking towards the playground of her school campus where her crush was standing alone looking for his friends. Soon enough before she could come closer to him his friends approached him. She quickly hid herself behind a tree and overheard his and his friends’ conversation. They tell him “Nina is going to propose to you tonight at our favourite restaurant. Be quick there!” At that very moment she was totally broke inside. As if a heavy wind blew towards her and took her heart away. It seemed that his crush was excited to meet that girl even. Later on that day, she spent her time crying while holding the pillow. She couldn’t share this to anyone because she was worried that whoever she tells about this matter, that person might start hating her. So she kept her this pain years after years bringing a fake smile in front of everyone.

Then comes another chapter of her life in grade ten. She was new in technology. When she gradually started learning about the technology and its structures. She soon enough became ambitious to get her desires for this to be fulfilled. Furthermore, soon she met a guy online then started talking to him everyday. Day and night. She found that the guy was quite opposite of her. He would call her “drama queen” just to settle her mood whenever she was sad. His point of view about love was a literature based love story. But she didn’t mind as it was just a friendly approach. Few days back, she discovered that she likes everything about him. Their conversation was like one says North and another says South. Vanessa thought maybe that’s what love is like? Maybe that’s how opposites attract. So, one day when they were at the end of their normal daily conversations she gave him the hints that she liked him. He even understood and then told her that “ I like you in a friendly way but not in a romantic way.” He even said sorry to her. But can a sorry fix a broken heart? Obviously no. She quickly became much quieter than before and stepped backward. She then realizes that no maybe this time she was quick to realize her feelings. She started to believe that maybe she has no partner for her. Time passed, she was by then in grade eleven. She met a guy in a game and then they switched up their social media. She normally started talking to him, a month passed then the guy confessed his love to her, then she didn’t say anything back because she was afraid of getting hurt again. Then after a few days she replied to him back believing that he can fix her broken heart and heal her past love memories, about her feelings and love for him while they were talking online. There is one more thing about this girl, that is she never said those three magical words of “ I Love You” to anyone because she kept it inside her for someone who would love her and will become her life partner. So she told him her magical three words for the first time. She felt that the guy was very much different from others. He was a little bit immature about decision making and not like the modern guys, which impressed Vanessa. He has his own theories and wants everything to happen in real life. His words of romance were amazing. One time this happened when he was talking to a girl in the game they played. He was talking to her to make Vanessa jealous but after the conversation he got to know it was a kid who was pranking him. Vanessa burst out laughing seeing his reaction. Moreover, he even planned his future life with Vanessa with their career planning as well. He spoke in such a way as if it was a beautiful dream to be fulfilled. Then she asked him whether he likes girls how they are naturally or someone who wants everything perfect. He then replies back saying, “I like girls who take care of their skins.” she replied back telling him that true love comes from inside, body and the outer beauty is here today and tomorrow it’s gone. Nevertheless, after their talks about this, Vanessa started thinking that when she would meet him in real life, what if he hates her? She was afraid of getting hurt again. The guy wanted to meet him, even brought gifts for her to meet every time he passed near her area. But every time she declines to meet him and says that she will meet him after her exams are over. He then says that he doesn’t want a virtual relationship but a real relationship which will take them further in the future. She doesn’t want to make him sad so she decided to do a video call with him. They had their first video call by then. Vanessa did some touch ups to her skin so that she can impress him. Then first when he video called him, she was nervous and was afraid to answer it. But then the next ring came up, she answered. He started talking to Vanessa about the usual things whereas Vanessa kept on walking nervously. He was asking why she was nervous she said as it was their first video call so she was quite nervous about it. On that very night something horrible happened. Vanessa thought she would have the best nights than all others but a few minutes later after their face time was done. He messages her back telling “ Look I really love you but I think you need to make yourself more beautiful.” She says that she is trying and obviously this broke her hurt again but this one was big as it was about her structure. Family, relatives telling her even her Romeo is now going to say things like this to her?

The next day, they had a normal conversation as usual, she thought that the words he spoken yesterday happens in a relationship so she forgot about it. But no no wait, here comes the twist that after a few days of their facetime calling, out of nowhere he messages her in the midnight telling her that he wants to tell her something but he can’t tell her because she would cry and will be hurt. Vanessa pushes him to tell her what’s so important that he messaged her suddenly at midnight. He says that “ Don’t get me wrong, I love you always and it is just that I want you to make yourself more beautiful because I don’t feel the attraction from you.” These words were like someone shooting a bullet from a gun to her ears. She then replies, “if you don’t feel attracted to me then you are free to go, I don’t want to be a burden for anyone. I want the best of you.” See that Vanessa is a girl who passed her years getting hurt every time but she never thought anything bad about the people she loved she even wished that her Romeo would get a new Juliet. Romeo was a 2nd year Arts University student when Vanessa met him online and she was in 12th grade. He told her that he won’t be able to stay online for months because of his final exams. Even he had a mental breakdown, it was online but she was there by his side every time, comforting and supporting him. She waited for him. Then came his course exams. She waited for him. Because she knew that her love for him was true, she never looked at another guy and even if she sees a boy who looks cute to her she quickly realizes that she can’t hurt her Romeo. It would be cheating to see another guy. Her Romeo is the only guy she ever wished for. So, later on he thanked her for supporting him in his tough days and not leaving him alone. Then after getting into arts gallery director work he seems to stay busy for most of the day. She would wait to get his message, they talked but very few. He was online but didn’t reply to her messages then she told him that why he doesn’t respond to her messages. He said that he stays busy with his work and studies. It was now Vanessa’s tough time where she will be giving her SAT exams. Obviously it was very competitive for her. That’s why she wanted him so that he can at least motivate her and overcome her fear about these exams. But no, he was busy with no time for her. Vanessa soon became alone, staying in the dark, and much distance from others. There was a boy in her class who liked her but she gave him the hint that she is in a relationship so that he doesn’t get hurt like the way she got from the past. She became depressed and made herself believe that love is not for her and that she needs to stand up for herself or life would be miserable for her. It’s not that she hates love but she is afraid of anything about love. But does she still believe that real love exists?
