Chapter 1 - The Lonely Void

Consumed and created by nothingness, the black void that we stare into when the light has gone, little did we know he had feelings too. Created for the sole reason of consuming light yet he didn't want to do so, he was sad to consume such beauty. It pained him to consume the light each day when it was time to go, yet it was out of his power for that is what the all sight created him to do. It felt like infinity for him, humanity branded him the name consumer of all, monster of the dark, or simply just Vide.

When Vide didn't have to consume light, he would stare at it for ages, pondering on its beauty. Vide thought to himself, "I wonder when I'd be able to be close to such beauty, I don't think the light would ever forgive me for the things I've done though." Suddenly a soft but warm voice whispers behind Vide, enveloping him in a warm hug of light.

"Hey silly, what are you looking so frown for?" A bright light right in front of his darkened face, it was a showcase of light and dark, pure beauty as you may call it. It's a beautiful and soft smile, its white shiny angelic hair brushed against Vide, and lastly, its big round eyes that had galaxies in the pupil itself. Vide was absolutely starstruck, the beauty that he had been watching so faintly from a far before having to consume it each night, is right in his face.

"Hello??? I'm really starting to think you are kind of "vide..."

Care to prove me wrong?", it jokingly says.

Vide answers with the voice of darkness, so deep yet so calming that it envelops you whole, "I'm not quite sure how to act, how do I address you? Are you a man or a woman first of all?". The light looks at Vide with the most confused face you could ever imagine.

"Do you really think I'm a guy? Clearly, you've been staring at the dark for too long it messed with your own eyesight". It sticks out its tongue at Vide, mocking him and laughing at him.

Vide replies, "I guess I shall address you as milady instead? If it is alright with you."

She scoffs at him, "Just call me Lumos you, doofus". Vide, for an eternity of time had never felt anything in his lifetime, but just so suddenly with the appearance of what seemed to be a miracle, Vide might no longer feel empty.
