Salem actually got up at a good time today! She begged me to make her pancakes with strawberries and cream on top, which I gladly did. It’s better than cereal, but not by much. After breakfast, she had me put her hair into a ponytail for her. I swear, this kid is so adorable with her brown curls. Then, she put on her favorite pink dress. It should be illegal for a child to be this cute. Jon and I did a good job making this one
Dropping her off at school was a pain in the ass, like usual. It’s like these other parents have no concept of time! I want to yell at these people but that would just embarrass Salem, and she has enough issues with classmates as is.
Work was pretty normal. Call centers are some of the worst places I’ve worked. It’s like it brings out all of the fucking assholes. Some guy actually called me a cunt, all because he voided his warranty and expected me to pull a miracle out of my ass to help him. There was nothing I could do, but it’s fine. He’s still up shit creek and I got to hang up on him.
After I picked Salem up from school, she told me that she won an award for having the most reading points in her class. I’m so proud of her! As an extra reward, I told her that we would go get ice cream for dessert tonight. She was so happy and excited, it made me forget about the prick from work.
Once we got home from the ice cream shop, we put on her favorite Disney movie. She did her homework after that, and got ready for bed. I got her to go to sleep at a good time tonight. The way she says “ I love you mommy” always warms my heart. Hopefully tomorrow continues to bring us some sense of normalcy.
