Chapter 1
fire pelt woke up to the sound of burning. he smelled a strange smell. he peeked out his den as he stretched his eyes filled with panic. the clearing was alive with yellow and orange licking flames and all the warriors were gathering everyone to the safe side of the clearing. " it's a sign!" rose petal called out. " The camp's going to burn with us trapped inside it! oh star clan help us." she yowled. fire pelt! where's fire pelt! oh star clan no!" he could hear shade whisker's desperate wail as she searched for a way to unblock me from my den.
he realized oh star clan no I'm trapped! some cat please help me! he pleaded silently to star clan to let him free of his death that was edging closer and closer. he was being swallowed by the flames. he could just hear the faint trickles of rain falling down and the flames were hissing as they were put out. he collapsed on the ground hardly being able to breath. moments later he awoke with a start. " w-what h-happened?" he could barely speak. " I'm in the medicine den, aren't I?" he questioned. he heard a gentle mew " rest, don't speak just rest." he obeyed, and he closed his eyes and dreamed.
