The Meeting
Aiden
I’ve spent way too much time staring at this invite. I knew she was getting married, she told me the moment Alex proposed to her but now that it’s getting closer, I’m hating it. Not because she’s getting married, I’m happy that she’s happy, I’m hating it because I’m still single.
My sister deserves to be married but I’m tired of being the single guy, the guy that never gets the girl and I’m tired of it. I’m tired of being judged at gatherings for not being with someone.
Our parents will be there, and my father will start on how I need to settle down and have children because one day his company will be theirs.
I decided to take drastic measures and hire a fake girlfriend. Most people think girlfriends for hire are like prostitutes but she isn’t going to be like that. Parker’s rules are no sex and only kissing when need, which is exactly what I need. I don’t need to pay for sex, I just need a platonic companion to pretend to be my girlfriend.
I agreed to meet her at this café to sign the contract and to settle the first payment and to discuss time line and rules. The café was her idea, I would be more comfortable if we met in private, I don’t want people to overhear our conversation.
“Aiden Hayes?”
I was so in thought and staring down at this invitation that I didn’t notice someone approaching me.
When I looked up, I was greeted by a tall brunette who was dresses in a black dress and a purple blazer. She had piercing green eyes that made you focus on her face, and she was gorgeous.
“Sorry. Yes, I’m Aiden, and you must be Parker.” She nodded and took a seat across from me.
“I have the contract here. It basically says you’ll pay me half up front and half at the end of the gig. It also states that there will be no sex and only kissing when appropriate, and it’s only appropriate when we need to put on a show for people.”
I took a look around the room to make sure no one was paying attention.
“You have nothing to be ashamed off. You are far from being the first person to need something like this.”
“It’s kind of embarrassing,” I stated. I couldn’t even look her in the eye. I’m so fucking pathetic.
Parker
I quickly spotted him when I walked into the shop. I could tell it was Aiden by the photo he sent in. While he was good looking in the picture, he is better good look in person.
I could tell that he was nervous, but I also sensed a bit of sadness when I approached him. It took him a few seconds to snap out of his thoughts but when he looked up at my I felt my heart rate speed up. He slowly looked me over before looking at my face and we locked eyes for a few seconds before he spoke up and introduced himself.
I was a little thrown off by the light Irish accent, but I quickly moved on by taking a seat and starting with the contract. Aiden was nervous and looking around and I tried to let him know that he isn’t the only one that needs this service, but I think it made things worse.
“Do you have any questions for me?”
“What last name are you using?
“Gray. Parker is my real first name. I find it easier if I keep it. Any other questions?”
“I don’t have question, but I have the timeline and what is expected of us.”
“That was the next thing on my agenda,” I said with a smile.
“Here is the invite. I figured you would want a copy since it has the wedding information. The celebration is a week-long and is being held at small resort that my father has rented out for my sister’s wedding. I’m the best man so I’m expected to be there for the week leading up to the wedding. It would look odd if you didn’t join me which is why booked you for the week.”
The week long gig is one of the reason I chose Aiden’s application. Most people book for a night or two, but this gives me the chance to slow down for the week.
“Anyway, I will also pay for transportation and anything you may need while you’re staying with me. I want that added to the contract.”
“That’s not necessary.”
“I know, but it’ll make me feel better.”
“Alright. Let me get out my laptop and make the change.”
He sat there watching me type away and every time I glanced up he offered me a small smile. It’s kind of cute at how shy he is, but at the same time it makes me feel bad. He’s a good looking guy and could get any girl to say yes to being his date.
“The change has been made and since I don’t have a printer, I emailed you copy. You can sign it and send it back tonight. Tell me a little about yourself and why you feel like you need this service.”
“It’s kind of embarrassing, I don’t want to be poor Aiden at my sister’s wedding. I’m always falling for the girl that has feelings for someone else. Two of them are going to be at the wedding. They’re already married but I don’t want to be poor single Aiden for the week.”
“It’s understandable, family can put a lot of pressure on some to settle down. Especially if the siblings are already settling down. Contingent on you signing the contract, I’ll meet you on Monday and we can drive in together, it makes it more realistic if we show up together. We also have to be prepared to share a bed, but there will be no touching and you have to be comfortable enough with light PDA.”
“I can agree with all that and will respect every boundary you put into place. You’re the one that is running this so all you have to do is tell me what to do and what you expect of me.”
I gave him a smile because the was one of the few times when a client of mine respected the new sex and light PDA rule. Most guys try to justify why sex should be part of the deal. Those are the clients I mark as red flags and depending on how uncomfortable I am, I either refuse to move forward or I make a note saying that I will not take them on as a client in the future.
“Thank you I appreciate that. Sign the contact tonight and since you didn’t sign it, I’m not expecting payment. You can payment when you pick me up.”
Aiden stood up when I stood up, thanking me for doing this and walked me out. Once we were outside, we stood there in silence before I told him I needed to go, and I was thankful he had to go the opposite direction because part of me didn’t want him to leave, which is going to be an issue if I don’t separate feelings from this gig.
