Chapter One
Ellie Masters sat in her FolkTale class full of humans, listening to the teacher ramble on and on about the history of vampires, werewolves, witches, and other beings such as herself. She wanted nothing more than to graduate high school because she was already twenty four, but her parents made her and her siblings attend a school that had others like them, along with humans. For vampires and the other beings, they all looked younger than their actual age, so they could pass as "high school" students.
"Now, we all know the history between the vampires and werewolves. Werewolves were vampire slayers and were the superior ones" Mr. Bolvy stated.
Ellie couldn't help but scoff at the statement from him, which brought his attention to her.
"Is there something you would like to add Ms. Masters?" Mr. Bolvy asked, clearly annoyed by her interruption, with a scrunched up expression.
Ellie looked around the room as all eyes were on her, waiting for a response. "It's just that I feel like that's a misconception. Yes, werewolves are very strong, but vampires aren't ones to be messed with."
"You know this from experience?" he asked, the entire classroom breaking out in laughter.
Of course everyone would laugh at that since they were all humans. If only they knew the real truth about her kind, and the other beings. Then they would understand where she was coming from.
"I just know my history unlike some people" she countered him when the laughter died down.
A few gasps filled the room with her statement, and Mr. Bolvy had anger plastered on his face. "One more comment like that Ms. Masters and I'll send you to the principal's office. I know this is your senior year but you need to watch your tone."
Ellie internally rolled her eyes and looked down at her textbook which showed a werewolf slaughtering a vampire. Why is this the history that it shows between them? she thought to herself. Yes there was always a rivalry between the two, but some things were different now. Also, vampires were no where near weak, and she hated that this portrayed them to be.
Thankfully, the bell rang through the classroom indicating it was the end of the day. Ellie quickly gathered her books, shoved them in her book-bag and practically ran out of the room. She walked down a few halls to get to her locker. Finally reaching it, Ellie fiddled with the combination lock to get it open.
"What's up lil sis?" Ellie's oldest brother Daniel said as he made his way to her. He was tall, light skin, dirty blonde hair, and had toned arms.
She rolled her eyes at him and then continued to fiddle with the lock. "I have a name Daniel, and it's not lil sis."
Daniel started to laugh as he leaned up against the neighboring locker to Ellie's. "Alright, what's up Ellie," he corrected.
"Ready to leave. I cannot wait to graduate from this school. This has been the longest four years of my life, and that's saying at lot given how long we've actually been alive" she whispered to him.
With vampires, they aged a lot different. For every one year to humans, it was five years for vampires. Since Ellie was twenty four in human years, she was really one hundred twenty years old in vampire years.
"Well I'm three years older than you lil sis, so trust me I know" Daniel added. "I'll see you at home, I gotta go do something first. Talk to you in a bit." Daniel walked away and Ellie watched as he met up with his best friend Nolan, who was a werewolf. Ellie shoved all of her books into her locker since it was Friday and didn't have any homework to do and then headed to her car so she could finally go home for the day.
When she opened her driver door, she slung her bag into the passenger seat and hopped in, shutting the door quickly so she could drown out the noise from all of the humans and other beings walking to their cars. It was amazing how well Ellie and the other beings that went to this school looked and acted like humans, so know one ever suspected a thing. She caught a glimpse of her ex vampire boyfriend Tanner coming in her direction. That was definitely one person she didn't want anything to do with, given their horrible past. Not wasting another second, she turned her SUV on and left the parking lot so she could gain some sanity back before the weekend actually started. Her fierce green eyes scanned the student parking lot but she had no clue where her two middle brothers were, but she didn't want to wait up.
After a twenty-minute drive, she finally arrived at their mansion of a home. Grabbing her bag from the passenger seat, she locked her SUV with the key fob and headed inside. She noticed that no other cars were at the house so no one was home. Unlocking the large front glass door, she made her way to the refrigerator to grab something to drink. One side was filled with blood bags, while the other side was filled with regular "human" food and drinks. Her mother and father made it very clear to each of the Masters children that the blood bags were to only be used for an emergency. Grabbing a water and an apple from the counter, she leaned against the island bar they had in the kitchen and ate the apple while sipping her water.
Ellie decided to pull her long brunette hair up into a ponytail, and then pulled her phone out to scroll through her social media apps, looking at different posts from her fellow students. Tanner's profile popped up with a new picture of him and a girl named Amy who was also a vampire. Rolling her eyes again, she continued to scroll through when she heard the front door open. "What's up lil sis?!" Daniel chimed as he walked through with Nolan following behind him.
"What did I tell you earlier? I have a name" Ellie explained to her favorite sibling.
"Yeah but it's way better when I can get a reaction out of you."
Ellie rolled her eyes again, for the thousandth time that day.
"Hi Ellie" Nolan interrupted. Nolan was a very handsome guy. Tall, dark brown hair, lightly tanned skin, muscular, but he was Ellie's oldest brother's best friend, so she never viewed him as anything else but that.
"Hi," she vaguely replied.
"Sooooo, you excited it's the weekend? Where is everyone?" Daniel broke their conversation.
"I have no idea, I just got here like ten minutes ago. Blade and Alex are probably out somewhere causing trouble as always. Mom and dad are probably at the business, rounding last minute things up."
"Alright, well Nolan and I are going to make dinner, so don't eat too much... lil sis" he grinned to her.
"I'm not going to feel bad when she decks you in the face" Nolan said, laughing.
"Ah she wouldn't hurt a fly. She's not a very strong vampire" Daniel teased the youngest sibling.
Ellie gave him a death glare at his words. "Try me."
"I'm just messing lil sis, I know you can hold your own. You may be smaller, but you're feisty for sure."
Even though Ellie was only 5'4" and weighed 130 pounds, she wasn't a weak vampire. She'd actually roughed up her brothers a few times here and there. "That's what I thought" she teased him back, standing on her tippy toes to ruffle up her 6'4" brother's dirty blonde hair. His emerald green eyes met her fierce ones as he hated his hair being messed with. Ellie laughed and then went to sit at one of the bar stools so she could watch the two of them cook dinner.

oooo ok ok....6'4" you say 👀
