Sincere POV

My tattoo shop is closed for the night and now I’m closing my barbershop up. I’m walking in the parking lot towards my car when Damon the local drug dealer and his two boys approach me.

“You think shit is sweet. This is my block, my hood. And ain’t no dollar store Nipsey Hussle going to take it away from me.”

His boys laugh while I mug them

“So what are you trying to do?”

We instantly start fighting. I knock one of his boys out but them niggas start jumping me. I end up on the floor and start losing consciousness. I hear a yell then bodies land next to me. Then everything fades to black.

I wake up in a bed and my head is swimming.

“Oh good your awake.”

I look up and it’s one of my long-time customers Jeff’s sister.

“Ain’t you Jeff sister?”

“Yes, Alena.”

“Am I at Jeff's house? What happens to those niggas that jump me?"

“You at my house. I kicked their asses."

I laugh

“Cause I’m fat doesn’t mean I can’t fight."

“You short tho. How the hell did you take those niggas down?"

“With a taser and my Baton. Are you ready to get out of bed? You can shower and eat some breakfast. The bathroom is over there."

I get up and wobble a little.

“Come on, let me help you into the bathroom."

" you just wanna see a nigga dick."

She doesn’t respond but blushes. Every time she picks up her brother from the barber shop, she stares at me. Sometimes she brings me home-cooked food with dessert. She had a crush on me since I started cutting her brother's hair in detention in high school.

I pee as she turns the hot water on. She leaves the bathroom and I get in the shower.

I take a quick shower and I’m out of the bathroom wearing a towel. I can smell the food and my stomach growls. On the bed, it’s a whole outfit down to the same slides I have in my house. The outfit is one I have in my closet. I also notice that the men’s products are the same as the ones I owned. At the time I just thought it was a thing, mad men like dove men’s body wash.

I dressed and walk out of the room to find the kitchen.

I find Alena humming and putting food on plates. She made steak, eggs, turkey bacon, and waffles.

“Damn that looks good."

“Thanks, sit down and enjoy."

I sit down and instantly shovel food into my mouth. 15 minutes later, I’m ready to bounce.

“So thanks for the food and saving me but I should get home to my girls. So where are my phone and car keys?

“No. You're not leaving. Your car is in a safe place and your phone is cracked and gone."

“What?! I’m leaving, gimme your phone so I can call an Uber."

I get up and I’m still dizzy.

She rushes to me and steers me to the couch.

“Listen to me, you're going to stay here until I say so."

“What? This is kidnapping".

“Yup. I’m kidnapping you Sincere. Want to watch the Michael Jordan documentary on Netflix?"

I don’t answer her but she turns it on anyway.

If my head wasn’t swimming, I would fight her and leave. She cuddles up to me and pulls my face onto her boobs.
