Prologue
We all know what it's like, being afraid. There's not much one can do about it, as we don't always know what we are up against.
The stories we listen to when we are young stick in our minds, their slender tendrils clinging to its depths. The monsters stuck within us, always lurking; waiting to break free.
Yet as we grow older, these fairy tales become but faint memories which we choose to forget over time. Subconsciously, we know that monsters do live in the real world. Ones who torment us at every turn; the faces that haunt us for all eternity.
What we don’t know is how smart we used to be as kids. All kids can see past the mystic glamor, fueled by their passions and dreams.
Have you ever heard a child scream into the night? You rush in, yet see nothing? They claim that there’s a monster in their room. That’s because there is.
They disguise themselves as shadows, hidden in plain sight.
